2021 has been a great year for metal
absolutely, so many great albums from legacy bands like Iron maiden who absolutely killed it, cradle of filth too was great, many others too, the relatively modern bands did absolutely great too, also so many brand new bands being discovered and signed this year, i discovered so much metal in 2021 and it was maybe the best thing in this year, those guys helped us move forward with our chaotic lives in troubled 2021
Because last year was so shitty that they had to take out their rage and anger into this year

Wow, Chris has improved greatly with his orchestral arrangements and Ben is a master of his craft, sounds like everyone in this band just keeps evolving.
Too bad for the mixing which i find not enjoyable to lsiten to
Pretty sure Ferrini from Fleshgod did a lot of the final orchestrations or was somehow involved, with this album at least.

Nope. The orchestral arrangement was wrote by Ferrini of Fleshgod Apocalypse. Just like the las album.

Love that the "shock factor" is reduced a bit replaced by more cohesive song structure. Doesn't seem like you're trying to prove anything so much as mastering your craft.

Sounds like the lyrics relate specifically to the battle of Stalingrad (now Volgograd), which lays on the bank of the Volga river. The Soviet defenders in Stalingrad fought bravely with their backs against the Volga for months, until they could be relieved by other Soviet forces from the far East that were able to surround and virtually annihilate the Axis Army Groups sent to take the city.

Ever heard of Glass Casket, Conducting From the Grave, Knights of The Abyss, The Red Chord , Arsonists Gets All the Girls A Breath before Surfacing and Those Who Lie Beneath ( still breathing is AWESOME) ? I remember hearing The Silent Circus by BTBAM and was completely Amazed in what 2004 .
After several playthroughs of Elegy, imo all songs are great but I am truly stunned by this song, best of the album...

The more I hear the end of this song, the more I love it. Just perfection. It's so harrowing and dark, and the sound of marching boots fading in is just an amazing way to wrap it up.
