    My Granddad owned a cane sword. Only, as a true Scot, he removed the sword and replaced it with a long glass vial which he filled with whiskey.

      Most states consider the sword cane as a concealed weapon.
      There are state laws that prohibit carrying them and some from even owning them.
      You can make them and most of the time own one but don't go thinking you can walk around with one.

Blade bended on heat treat, well normalize it, heat it up, bend it straight, repeat hardening and if that does not help bend it to opposite direction to compensate.

    • @Si74l0rd
      @Si74l0rd 4 роки тому +6

      Only illegal to carry in public, buy or sell. They can be inherited, not sure about gifting but there's a market of sorts for them still. Word of mouth and very niche, one of those things that exist outside of the internet. You can of course also make your own to display in your home as an art object, as with a multitude of other such things. Art being subjective under law, the Police will only take any action if there is intent, such as a physical, demonstrative threat.
      Also, they're sold in shops in the Mayfair area of London, or indeed you can still get one bespoke made in certain companies workshops. If you wanted one with your new Holland and Holland over and under there wouldn't be any difficulty with that request being filled.
      I'm not sure if Wilkinson and Sword still manufacture actual swords, but certainly the better mass produced canes on the historical collectors market tend to be theirs.
      The rules of course only really apply to the plebians.

      It's intended more as a fashion accessory, and a handy club for beating the occasional footpad.
