Attila Fődi is an absolute legend, and if i have one percent of his fungal knowledge before I die, I'll be a happy man. It goes without saying that Marlow is equally legendary!
Lovely, as always. Reminds me of how for the first time in my life I found velvet shanks in the Elan Valley in Wales last January and used your video to learn to ID! Thank you Marlow and Attila
Would the gorse flowers be sweeter in the early morning as the insects won't have drank the nectar or took pollen,,, I know birds feed due to activity from insects and flowers , hence early and late singing.
I love hearing Attilas knowledge. I have impaired vision so I struggle to find mushrooms growing in the leaf litter ect so I've naturally become obsessed with the fungi that commonly grow on fallen/ chopped trees
One of the most commonly foraged mushrooms in Portugal is actually one which is also considered toxic: Tricholoma equestre. Although apparently no one really knows what is the toxic substance they contain, but in some rare cases they can destroy your muscle cells from what I have heard
Yes when prepared properly the false morel is considered edible. This apparently requires being well cooked in a ventilated room. Gyromitrin is very toxic though and needs to be completely destroyed.
@ I agree with what you are saying??!. However I’ve whitenesses and seen them being eaten freshly picked or pickled, just like Amanita Muscaria,?. Don’t you think this is quite remarkable and interesting,??. If it was regular Westerner I’m sure we would be very ill.???
Your videos calm me down from panic attacks, I appreciate your work so much😊
Thanks Robin. I find foraging very good for keeping me calm too.
I took magic mushrooms when I was 18 and done the same with the same affect! ❤
You take my breath away with your knowledge. Thank you both most enjoyable.

Try noting whether you are north or south of the Gorse. Also a good navigation tool, they will taste more like coconut on the south facing side
Great tip :)

Brilliant knowledge , must brush up on my foraging.

Another fun fact is that they are called equestre because they were by law reserved to the knights, and the commoners weren't allowed to pick them
6:48 Kuehneromyces mutabilis - common name is Sheathed Woodtuft
Yup, oops. Not one I recommend to anyone who couldn’t have corrected me on that fact though ;)!
Mucilaginous = slimy?
Jelous you found Winter Chanterelle's they've been illusive for me this winter. Only find Russula's in my pine woods!
I'm dyslexic and when I first read your comment I thought you wrote Russian's 😂😂😂.
Hairy curtain crust, sounds like something i would avoid 😂
Haha
Are there any halucgenic what grow at this time of year???
Hadir indonesia ,saya pencinta jamur dan saya juga berburu jamur
Interesting because in Easyern Europe they still eat false Morrel

Viscid is the word you were looking for
Thanks :)
Alternatively mucilaginous
Gelatinous?
I think that may have been it!!
that works too :)
I came to suggest 'gelatinous' too 👍 But Marlow's 'slimey' description works
Difference now is the world is watching. The world has woken up to the truth of what Israel has done and continues to do.
