The US actually did have a few finished prototype carts just before Nintendo decided to let the NES die and were eventually auctioned. at least one was dumped into a computer to be uploaded to the internet. You can find it under the name "Earth Bound Zero". it's very tough, on par with the Dragon Warrior games in terms of random encounters and deadly enemies, but I thought it was well worth the difficulty in my opinion.
Step 1- Take a song dedicated to a 16 bit game. Step 2- Put it on the Gamecube Step 3- Profit! Step 4- Someone awesome will take it, and make it better than you made it in the first place, but in 8-bit. Good job, man.
I'm really late to this but the Onett theme from smash isn't actually the same theme as Onett in Earthbound. It's actually called "Bein' Friends", which is from Earthbound Beginnings (an 8 bit game).
The point was that Bein' Friends and 8 Melodies were both originally 8-bit songs. Unless you can direct me to a source saying Mother was for SNES. That being said, ProffesserLuigi is still a butt.

Wonderful once again :D Hey I don't know if you've ever heard of this program called GXSCC. I use it a lot to make MIDI song sound like chiptunes :3 Just export them as MIDI from GuitarPro and drag them onto the program :> Have fun!

This song came from the nes era.
That's like remastering the super Mario bros theme and then making an 8-bit remix of that remastering.
