I think fundamentally you guys are similar. He is coming across as a bodybuilder/coach (which he is). He isn’t giving skipping enough credit. The advice you give will work long term and for more “normal” people. His stuff is geared toward bodybuilding and is a little more extreme. Not everyone is gonna live that way. JRD is fantastic and probably a more legitimate, sustainable way to get healthy. Your channel is amazing keep it up!!

Greg was a professional and competing when he was natural, he competed 40 times on stage before using enhancing drugs. Only difference between someone who is natural and someone who is not is time, that’s all. It’s a boost. Because it’s boosting the metabolism and body, it’s unhealthy. But everything else still applies (calories, cardio, training) everything is the same. But do what you like, what you love the most. I love jumping ropes and I do some interval running.

The title is the definition of click bait. One thing that wasnt talked about is changing priorities as you get older. For my early 30s, I found Buff Dudes, and followed their workouts. I could lift heavy, and drank a lot of alcohol, but I never got the physique I wanted. When life gets busy, it's very easy to drop the exercise, but not so easy to drop the drinking habit. Approaching 40, and after two weightlifting injuries, I just wanted to lose weight and be healthy. Two months ago, saw Buff Dudes repping Crossrope, which is how I found JRD. I enjoy jumping more than running, especially now that I live in FL where it is miserable to run. Dropped five lbs since then, and hope to get down ten more before end of summer, and goal weight by xmas.

As someone who struggled for years to find a routine I can stick to, Dan's method works. I lost 5 kilos in a year (slow progress as I try to stick to the routine of jumping/eating right). I just need to lose another five to reach my goal as a lethargic busy person with an office job. JRD is definitely the way to go if you want to do it naturally.

I have been doing jump rope for more than a year now and have lost more than 24 kg (starting weight was 144 kg so do the math) without any serious dieting. My resting heart rate is now 45 BPM, my calf muscles are crazy big, my feet have become more vascular (Veins have started to pop out). Seeing all of these changes has left me completely baffled. I do jump rope daily and because it is something that I love to do, it doesn't take much of an effort to just do it subconsciously (I can jump rope even if someone wakes me up at 3 am and asks me to do it). I do any where from 2000 to 3500 jumps 5-6 times a week (for a guy weighing 120 kg that's a lot, so if I can do it anyone can) and I am just getting started. To sum it up, jump rope is the best thing that's ever happened to me and JRD is responsible for it. Way to go JRD !! #DOTHETHING

There are lots of hidden benefits with skipping rope more than burning fat: increases tendon/fascia stiffness, bulletproof your ankles and feet so it doesn’t sprain, strengthens the whole anterior and posterior fascia chain, prepares you for real life impact like jumping and landing from a height, running, sprinting. You don’t get muscle tears or tendinitis like bodybuilders. I feel like Greg wants to partner with jump rope dudes but he’s just a straight shooter. I hope you can convince him to jump rope, that will be funny.

My issue with Greg is that he's essentially run out of things to actually talk about so he just tries to police everyone else's content. Dude's the boogeyman of fitness and has an army of yes men eagerly waiting to defend him even if he contradicts himself constantly and is just kinda..toxic? And the thing is, I have no issue with someone trying to call out misinformation, but he also tends to spread misinformation due to his own biases and his....well, general toxicity.
I think this reaction was great because yea, you both essentially agree on a lot of things, but he often makes other creators looks really bad by his poor representation of the points they're making. Perfect example is how he doesn't actually know your protocol on jumping rope and just assumed you meant some insane 30 min steady state session. Obviously, that's not the case. And regardless of if his intent was malicious or not, the result is that it paints someone's advice as bad or generally misinformed, when really he just either doesn't care to do his due diligence in knowing about the people he's critiquing or doesn't care just in general (or if him not being charitable - purposefully misrepresent them for rage bait).
Personally, I'm not a fan of Greg. Dude tries to paint himself as nuanced but has clear biases that ultimately render that facade as hypocritical in my eyes. He starts drama with so many content creators who aren't doing anything unethical but he knows it'll get views and engagement because they might be relatively high profile. In his videos he'd agree with the vast majority of what they have to say, but he'd have a real rage baity title and pick one or 2 points that he tries to hammer someone on in his weird culture wars and in so doing, activates his hive to not just hate on people in his comment section, but often times actively seek out conflict with these creators he's trying to beef with. Just going to his channel most of his recent videos it's all just X person is wrong, or bad or dumb etc. He climbed his way to the top and just decided to be a clout goblin.

When you see people like Greg talk shit about jump rope, U realize how little people know about jumping rope and it's benefits. If only people were born with the ability to do the regular bounce the perfect way and do some tricks like running in place and double unders then only you could make a valid comparison and that's the issue, people never reach the level where they could do regular bounce the perfect way and some useful tricks, and that's why they could never ever understand how beneficial it actually is.

Sup bro, looking fly! Just chiming in that I do the damn thing. I work part time now and been skipping rope for 1hr before lifting almost daily for months. I’ve never looked or felt better. And about the carbs, all I eat are carbs. I sprinkle sugar on my rice and beans, I’ll down 2 bags of sour gummy worms before bed. I feel amazing, don’t have anymore bloating in the morning from over consuming protein and fat. I don’t buy any food with fats. I’ve been lifting naturally for close to a decades. Ive made great progress, but nothing has been healthier for me than cardio, sugar, and lifting + flexibility for health. My goal isn’t to be a huge ball of mass anymore.
It’s really just a fact that nobody knows for sure about dieting and fitness. This is what works for me. Sugar>fat for abs. I tried my same routine eating high protein, low carb, felt like shit.

I HATE the way Greg argues his point. He adds caveats to his points and ignores the fact that your points have them as well. I agree with you on alcohol. All the people I personally know that drink alcohol DO NOT LOOK GOOD. He keeps talking as if alcohol is like coffee or juice. If you are out with friends drinking alcohol, there's a much higher chance you will consume other foods. It absolutely spikes your insulin levels and makes you hungry. The fact that he just casually breezes past that is actually infuriating. The worst of all, he legit plugged his book 🤦‍♂️😒

    Hi Dan,
I don’t really care what this guy says about you. I just want you to know that following your jump rope routines for the past few years have made feel fitter and stronger. I invite this guy to do your routines with the heaviest jump rope (black jump rope) so he can see if he only burns 4 calories!
I can’t wait to jump rope again!

On alcohol, how many people still eat their regular meals before drinking, then follow up a night out with uber eats or something from the fridge? Then wake up hungover and need something greasy. Imo alcohol doesn't cook your weight-loss goals on it's own, but it absolutely cooks your diet for a day and if you're a binge drinker, good luck to you.

I do agree, you need carbs. Protein are the building blocks, carbs the fuel. If you don't add carbs to your diet your body will sacrifice something else to make up the difference - imho.

You need to look up what an essential nutrient is. Carbs are not essential. Without fat, you die. It's not the same for carbs.

If someone calls you, a chubby little foolish person, you are probably and have to accept and live with it. What is your problem with freedom of speech? You don't have to ask what people know about you. Knowledge is power, they have to learn something too.
