I really do hope your channel keeps growing and gets loads more subscribers. Don't give up the videos mate they help me out loads. Stay safe 👌
Glad to hear the videos have helped you out😁 And dont worry, I'm going to keep making the videos as long as people want to see them 🤙🏼🧱
I am a brick contractor and let me tell you you do great work but you better start wearing knee pads or in about 20 years you will regret it, love your videos and keep up the good work 👍
@@martin2466 agree
Great video as always mate. One slight error though, 1m is 1000mm or 100cm. You said 1 metre is 100 millimetres. I think you confused centimetres with millimetres. Easily done.
Hi Rodian, love the way you go into detail in your videos. Would like to see you do the curve step using a laser and laying a line of bricks also. All the best Gary.
If you started your dry run at the centre of your radius the bricks at the end would have been the same size.
BLWP 👌🏼. Like the dark gobbo with the golden bricks , very nice. Radius walls .... a lot of work but totally worth the effort . We actually get paid the same rate for radius as we do on straight brickwork 😫. Lovely job pal 💪🏼🧱🧱🧱👍🏽
The same rate?!?!? Good thing we dont live in a world where everyone has round houses 🤣🤙🏼🧱

Mate give me some time to get some money together and love to see you help me put some bricks in my Cottage .fire place/outdoors kitchen.
Yours got pinched 2 years ago! Thanks for every explanation 🤣
Dude keep up the good work I enjoy every video...entertaining and educational.
Bricks laid wages paid! Wicked video mate thanks 👍
Yes to the steps yes to laying with the laser yes please!
Good stuff mate 👍
Wouldn't mind seeing the lazer level in action please. Great video.
Rod, change them bloody boots.
Lovely job,keep the videos coming
Great video
too much talking , u dont have to talk that much , gave me headach
If gong up more than a few course would make a template out of hardboard .
I've used templates before when doing radial brickwork. Makes the process much less annoying. I might do a video on them in the future
Bricks laid wages paid
Who does the music?
Will you do a video on brickwork expansion joints and where they should be placed please? Hope the subscriber numbers keep going up & always great vids.
I will add it to the future video list and film it as soon as I can 👍🏻🧱
Great video mate, iv not seen anyone explain bullseyes in detail that would be a good video for your followers ,
No worries mate...already on it👌🏼
Great demonstration mate
Great video!! Can do a not so sharp curve with full length bricks? Same principles?
Great vids mate . Theres no youtube videos about gauged and rubbed brickwork that was popular in Georgian times , introduced to us from the Netherlands. I remember reading about it and see pictures of these amazing carvings they did with bricks back when I was in college . Do you research and I reckon you could make a great video about this style of brickwork .
All the best mate
I have been looking into gagued brickwork recently. It's not something I've done before but I'm always looking to learn new things 🤙🏼🧱
@@RodianBuilds Checkout a book called Gauged brickwork by Gerard Lynch , you'll see some of the finest brickwork ever in those pages.
Yes, please on the step video.
here bc of tiktok
Thanks man! The videos are great. They’ve helped me out a lot. Just finished doing my first ever brick project. A circular fire pit. The tips and techniques you have shared have been really helpful. Keep it up!
For metric sake...when you are using mm say 1100mm in other case of cm say 110cm...
Hi I’m wanting to do this but with more of a circle , would it be done the same way ?
Nice UA-cam reference in the background. Keep up the good work!
Would have loved to see you completely finish it off putting something on top
Hello can you show to us how setting out radius brick work if u don't have any corners about just foundation for example circular brickwall can you show to us please?
I have a video coming soon that should be able to answer your question 🤙🧱
Thank you for that Rodian.
How do you do this with whole bricks, laid length ways for a curved bay window. So you need an inner and outer wall and insulation in between.? Yes this is a video suggestion how to lay a bay window either curved or half a hexagon style.
The radius would have to be much much bigger than this to be able to lay them length ways. I would do a video on how to build a baby window with cavity. Sure. 🤙🏼🧱
Excellent
Hello mate been a bricklayer 10 years and only ever seen a buttress built once but was when I first started so I think that one would be good for you to show watched you from the start mate your smashing it now 👍
Things are going well at the moment bud, an OG subscriber eh? We've come a long way!! I'm already planning a buttress tutorial bud. Got plenty lined up 🧱👌🏼
If you can please show how build fireplace from beginning please
I wont be building one for a while but I will definitely make a video about it 🤙🧱
drop corbel next mate
Would like to see a laser level video
Excellent video mate I'm gonna have a crack at that out my backdoor when b n q decides to open again lol
I think as a step it will look really good for sure👌🏼 If you have Instagram, take some photos when you do it and tag me in them. Would love to see 🤙🏼🧱
Great tutorial
Love the channel and the work you do even all the waffling you do haha got a quick question if you could take a minute to answer it.... building a breezeblock shed 2.4m high (approx) and 3m long by 2.5m wide what size foundations would you do???
Glad to hear you're enjoying the videos bud 😁 In regards to the foundations, the ground plays a large part in what depth to dig your foundations. www.homebuilding.co.uk/foundation-systems-and-soil-types/ Have a look at this link and see what would suit your build best. Hopefully that's of some help 🤙🏼🧱
Thats great thanks alot and keep up the great vids for your Rodinians lol
I assume your not building a.fire pit anytime soon
🤣🤣
جيد جدا شكرا
This is probably a stupid question but in regards to your pencil lines at the start, why do you need an Intrados line if you have an extrados for the outside guide?
I only showed an intrados as an example if the radius was being built in 9 inch brickwork so a brick on edge can be put in top to finish it off
Rodian Builds fair point mate love the videos 💪🏻
The best
How do you do that using laser instead
I'm looking into doing a video about laying them with a laser
You could lay to a line by borrowing a technique from kerb laying - put in a couple of road pins, or similar, standing off from the work piece, level a mark across the pins and run a string around. It won't cover every brick you lay, but if you position the pins cleverly it will cover most of the work.
Maybe as much effort as levelling every brick? Who knows?
The wooden template is a method I have used before and definitely takes the faffing out of the build. The kerb laying technique is an interesting idea....I may have to take a look into that. Thanks guys 🧱🤙🏼
Can you explain why you sometimes see garden walls/new builds where all the perps line up in a straight vertical line? Is there a maximum length of brickwork?
It sounds like stack bond to me.
@@RodianBuilds I mean when it looks like a normal bond but then seems to come to an end and they all line up and then continue again on a normal bond. Not sure if I'm making any sense
I think what I'm trying to describe is some sort of movement/expansion joint?
Ahhh yes, it definitely sounds like a movement joint to me.
Could be an expansion joint however in California there is a style that on radius walls they stack the joints then when it turns back into a straight wall they catch back on to a running bond. Not so much in brickwork but I’m 8x8x16 cmu they’ll stack 8x8x8 or half block to allow the radius to turn sharper than a 16 inch full block would allow
The first course is the worst course!
Couldnt agree more buddy!!🤙🏼🧱
Rodian Builds watch out for LCS aswell: last course syndrome 😂 #tipping 😫
We all get a bit of tapeslexia every now and then 🤣
I feel like it's always now and not then for me 🤣🤣
