Brilliant Demo. Sifu Rick Young is a Legend!!DVDs can be found on Ebay . KFM and DL are actually based on JKD Kali so it will look the same as the instructors were students of Bob Breen , Least Andy Norman was which is stated in the mick Tully Interview with Bob Breen

@ Billy Brown ... we're not even on the same page. This man may have years of learning, teaching under his belt .... he may be able to handle himself in a street fight ... I don't know. My point has simply been, that this is not the final product that Bruce Lee arrived at, and was still refining, at the end of his life. Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do, as Dan Inosanto calls it, is not the simple art of Jeet Kune Do, whose principals are heavily based on fencing. Dan himself stated that he went off and started exploring FMA, and other arts, more heavily after Bruce's death. He opened his school after Bruce's death. Bruce was opposed to mixing JKD with other arts, JKD Concepts has confused people globally, they don't know the history ... paying students take all these arts to be what Bruce taught. I have 23 yrs. around this stuff ... JKD Concepts, Israeli Haganah. I see these endless techniques, students keep coming back each week to learn ... I look and think, is simplicity not enough ? Long range or close range, kick him in the nuts, finger jab, dislocate the knee ... be done with it.

well i dont get why in kali/escrima/silat they always want to first mive away the arm and then attack ...insted of just punch the opening ...but yeah i guess its a pretty good flow

What Inosanto did has nothing to do with JKD. Check the sources of JKD. It is not based on Kali, but mainly on western boxing and fencing.

@ Billy Brown ... I don't subscribe to Bruce Lee or anyone else's philosophy, I can think for myself. This about mechanical principals not concepts or personal life philosophy. Bruce tended to mix the two, most folks can't separate them.
A principal is a truth, by which you can prove other so called truths ... a concept is an idea, a thought ... not yet proven. In typical liberal fashion you get angry, when you can't persuade someones thinking ... but you've made your mind up before the discussion began, that you're right. Your on Dan Inosanto's philosophical path, by your movement, I can see you don't have any instruction in Bruce's principals of body mechanics ... that's why no JKD Concept instructors can move like Bruce. See I've stated already, that I've trained under several JKD Concept instructors ... who were directly under Inosanto & Burton Richardson. Burton Richardson, being the most talented, humble & teachable instructor from what I've seen. Bruce did encourage his students to explore othe arts, but not to learn them, to see their strengths & weaknesses. If Bruce took something, he always modified it. I hope what I've written, will open the eyes of people truly looking to learn Bruce's principals of simplicity, directness ... not collecting a bunch of arts. Question why your JKD Concept teacher doesn't move like Bruce Lee. As for you Billy Brown, in a serious fight, when you get in trouble, you will fall back on a few simple tools that you're comfortable with, proving the need for simplicity, hope they work ... two closing words Tommy Carruthers ... he's not claiming to be the baddest man on the planet, he just put in the hard work, came to America ... did the research, spent his money, time & energy to get the truth ... credit where it's due ...

@ LMA UK ... I'm just sick of all the lies here in the U.S. about Bruce Lee's art. It's a profitable business for these people. It does not honor Bruce, and no one here seems to have the knowledge or guts to speak up and say, that these people may be athletic, but they are not training JEET KUNE DO. Low side kick to destroy the knee, follow with a hard straight lead punch to the throat or neck to finish it. That would be an example of real Jeet Kune Do ... simple, but not simple to do with speed, power, timing, precision etc. It takes hard work, it's simpler to do something else & call it JKD. Something you can sell to the masses, movie industry & the MMA crowd. Having said all that, I'm at an intermediate level in JKD, I'm good for about 5 - 5 min. rounds ... some days 6 or 7 rounds. I'm 43 yrs. old & I work full time ... that is what my current energy and physical shape allow for ... improving every week though ... and by the way, I credit Tommy Carruthers for all my improvement. Credit where credit is due.

There is nothing wrong in what is being taught on this video but one shouldn't call it 'JKD' as such. JKD runs on Principles of Simplicity & directness to DECISIVE targets and refining physical motion to become more efficient in ending life threatening danger FAST. If some of these techniques were used on the street in a life threatening attack they would not achieve this. I don't mean this to sound in any way disrespectful . Rick Young is clearly good at what he does & seems a real nice chap...JKD must be a daily decrease of techniques to increase efficiency.

So keep following the Dan Inosanto ideology and keep getting it wrong, but don't lie about others you know nothing about.

But didn't Bruce Lee emphasize the principles of Simplicity & directness in his approach ?......Wouldn't have that involved going immediately for the decisive targets if this was in the street ?......I'm not saying the stuff above wouldn't work for the sports arena but we must never confuse the sport arena for the street. @@axelstone3131 I had contact and communication with Tommy myself outside social media . Not face to face but regularly on the phone in 2020. Tommy has sent to my address here a painting, his jkd notes, and he made a little model spitfire for me too all of which I still have. I can put these up on our fb page which anybody can see later today….I sent him a present of a John Wayne biography book and Robert Jungk’s Brighter than a Thousand Suns.Ask his students that I also talked to on the phone to like Waleed Arafat, Kevin Park…both of whom I also spoke regularly with on the phone the latter of which I met in person on eight different occasions and spend the day with where I live…And Tommys life long Friend big Jim Ferguson would talk to me about him and Tommy for HOURS on the phone. But now Tommy doesn’t talk to me any more on the phone.whenever I phone he just says -‘sorry , I’m busy ‘ and he rings off. Which I can understand if he’s doing drills and stuff. I also only ring him once every few months so not to become a nuisance. But it seems that certain people in the IFO want me out of the picture.(who I won’t name to create friction) In the recent live stream(including last nights) all my comments I made have been deleted even though I thought they were helpful and clarifying to what Thomas was saying. They have been deleted in ALL the live chat in all the live streams…But WHY ? Is it because they don’t see me as a tough guy or something ? And I’m an embarrassment to them ? And the Black Rhino have been attacking me and were trying to stir it up between me and Tommy. My head is in a spin with all this. And it only may have gone wrong with Tommy because I tried to make peace with him and Leo FonG but it totally backfired and I got crushed by them both.
