Hii Max, I hope you're doing well. Your content is incredibly useful, and I wanted to ask you a question about universities in Germany. I am a 25-year-old Japanese student, and I am interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree in Germany. I was wondering if German universities have mature-age students, and whether someone like me would be able to apply? Thank you so much for your help.
Really appreciate your nice comment ^^ It is possible to study in Germany at any age. We had a guy in my Physics degree who was 56 years old. Now most of the students at classic universities are going to be very young, usually fresh high school graduates but there are also people in their mid-twenties. At Universities of applied sciences, there might be more people on your age level. I would say the average age in my degree program (Hochschule München) is 23 years.
@@maxyoko Thank you for your reply! Ohh I see, that's understandable that there are some mature students in STEM degrees . Actually, I'm interested in Economics so there might be a few students around my age... But anyway I'll think about it, thank you very much : ) ありがとうございます!
As some german universities require 13 years of education for admission in universities...Is it possible to get admission after studying one year in an EU country (recognized by german education system) in a bachelor's program and the other 12 years from my home country?
Usually we get visa from our home country of 6 months duration. And when we extend it after reaching Germany for how much duration our residence permit is valid ? Like one year or until the studies ? Or we have to renew it every year ?? I just have these confusion if you can answer please about your experience. Thank you in advance!!
When you extend your visa after arriving in Germany, the duration of your residence permit can vary depending on the reason for your stay. For students, typically a residence permit is granted for the duration of your studies. But you might renew it every year so that it stays valid
Hey Max thanks for the video! I have a question about studying in Germany as an international student. So I'm currently in my 2nd year in mechatronics engineering. The course quality is not that good for me. I'm considering starting a new degree in Germany(Probably Physics or engineering physics). Which one will be easier to get a DAAD scholarship, applying for DAAD without a bachelor's degree or after getting the degree? And i watched your video about TUM, i prefer applied science like you. Which universities is better for these fields in your opinion?
applying for a DAAD scholarship after completing a bachelor's degree is more common, but there are options for undergraduates too. When it comes to the Universities of Applied Sciences, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Karlsruhe - Technik und Wirtschaft), Munich University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule München), Aachen University of Applied Sciences or Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences are really good
I have worked in government service for 7 years now, can I still be eligible for the DAAD Scholarship as I read somewhere that its no more than 6 years.

I mean what is the difference between general and specific admission? & Does this mean that I do not need a studienkolleg (preparatory course)? Am kind of lost here SOS 😅😅
It means, that you can directly apply to the Bachelor program for any field of study in Germany. I think Studienkolleg is not required here but minimum grades for admission and language requirements still apply
Switching from a private English-language university to a public one in Germany is possible, but it depends on meeting the language and academic prerequisites of the public university. These days you get the same degree from applied universities and universities. In the end it depends on what you want to do after your studies. Universities focus in scientific careers, while applied university (which are only called like that in English, they are no real universities and not called a university in German) focus on the industrial application, hence the name. Finally it depends on the person/company looking at your degree. For an industry job, a degree from an applied university should be better (e.g. because it includes internships), but some companies sadly see more scientific degrees from the university as "better". You should decide what you prefer. University give you way more freedom, but also require more autonomous work. Also you will go deeper into foundations with way leas applications. Applied universities on the other hand are often structured more or less like schools, less freedom, but also more guidance to get through.
I think you have to check this case by case or contact the program's coordinator. I have seen many clauses in the "NC" for many programs where they stated that different countries/certain countries may have different circumstances.
what if i am at my first year for my bachelor's degree right now with overall of 54 credits, trying to avoid a year of foundation course (school is 11 years in my home country). Am i still eligible to enroll for bachelor's or it must be 60? can't find any info about it..
Yes. However, some masters programs require a minimum amount of credit points in a certain field. So if you have a bachelor’s in information science and want to do a master’s in economics you would have to take some additional classes in econ. Depends on the university and the exact degree tho
with a highschool leaving certaficate score of ( 16.55/20 ) and first year of uni score ( 11.82 /20 ) i got a great chance to be admitted in a english only course ( electrical or computer engineering )?
More likely in private universities. Your high school leaving certificate is strong, but your first-year university score might be below the typical expectation for English-only courses, so check with the universities

Applied universities on the other hand are often structured more or less like schools, less freedom, but also more guidance to get through.
Bro!! I have heard that some top german university accept the Indian G.A.T.E (Graduate aptitude test in engineering) exam score?
I think you have to check this case by case or contact the program's coordinator. I have seen many clauses in the "NC" for many programs where they stated that different countries/certain countries may have different circumstances.
what if i am at my first year for my bachelor's degree right now with overall of 54 credits, trying to avoid a year of foundation course (school is 11 years in my home country). Am i still eligible to enroll for bachelor's or it must be 60? can't find any info about it..
I am doing cambridge Alevels without going school will that be a problem when entering german universities?
It will not be a problem since your certificate will be issued by the Cambridge International not by your school after your A level exams.
Bro if i choose 4 years degree program should i need to show 44000 euros in my blocked account?
You don't have to show that amount all at once
Hiii bro, please do make a video on "how to convince your parents to allow you study abroad particularly in Germany."
Uhh sounds nice 👀
Is it possible to go for a masters in a different subject than the one which i completed my bachelors in?
Yes. However, some masters programs require a minimum amount of credit points in a certain field. So if you have a bachelor’s in information science and want to do a master’s in economics you would have to take some additional classes in econ. Depends on the university and the exact degree tho
well explained, thank you 🫶
@@turquoise8916 thanku for explaining 💜
with a highschool leaving certaficate score of ( 16.55/20 ) and first year of uni score ( 11.82 /20 ) i got a great chance to be admitted in a english only course ( electrical or computer engineering )?
More likely in private universities. Your high school leaving certificate is strong, but your first-year university score might be below the typical expectation for English-only courses, so check with the universities

I'm preparing to get admission in German University but first I must give a ielts exam and I don't. Want to give that exam...
Can you tell me the option that I am not give ilets exam and can get a admission in German University without ilets exam
The required IELTS score for admission to a German university can vary depending on the specific program and institution but I would say it's about 6.0. Alternatives are TOEFL or some universities have prep courses
@@maxyoko oh wao if it is 6.0 band so that's great but I knew that it is 6.5 band for German universities admission ....
You can tell clearly bcz you're living in germany , is it 6.0 band or 6.5 band for ielts...
And thank for replying my question.
@@KhushiChoudhary001 The IELTS requirement for a German student visa is a band score of 6.5 overall. Undergraduate course aspirants should aim for at least IELTS 6.0 for Germany. For example, the University of Konstanz only requires 5.5
