Censuring Paul Gosar is a slap on the wrist as far as I am concerned. And so what if did they take him off of committees. That didn’t stop Marjorie Taylor Greene. The bottom line is he should’ve been expelled from Congress and forbidden from running for public office ever again.
You got that right! And then he should be charged w a hate crime and sued in civil court!!
Until Trump has been neutralised, and the threat contained, the Republicans are not going to step out of line.
While I don't disagree with you, I don't think there are actual mechanisms to expel someone from congress.
Not unless they commit an actual crime. If he's caught literally murdering someone, instead of fantasizing it? Yeah, he'd get removed. Otherwise I don't think that's even a thing that can be done

Gosar hasn't been "censored", he was "censured". Even his family thinks he is insane. He should get the same treatment that Kathy Griffin got. It's only fair that Gosar be flight restricted, investigated, etc.

Kathy is a comedian who doesn't work with these people and was throwing back the violent words of T***. Gosar was threatening his coworkers and inciting violence against them. He should get worse. Fired and put in jail.
I always wonder what his wife (hard to believe he has one) and children think of his antics. Would love to see an interview with them, they should be concerned enough to be seeking professional help immediately.

As a Registered nurse of 40 years....someone whose job is to give out drugs & then assess their effect on people...I'm telling you that Gosar is abusing stimulants. He presents as if he's on crystal meth but I find it hard to imagine that a congressman could be scoring illegal drugs in a back alley. So he may be abusing another stimulant. My question is if you can't get a job at the dollar tree without passing a drug test, why do we not require Congress to drug test?

Dentists commonly write prescriptions for pain meds & muscle relaxants/ anti-anxiety meds (i.e. like benzos) & they have in-clinic access to various types of short sedation/ anesthesia meds.
But they're not dumb enough (generally) to write their own prescriptions, it's illegal. Same thing as I said about the illegal drugs, they have 'people' - $$$ - for these things.

I wrote my congresswoman. She replied with a statement that can be summed up as 1) Gosar is very bad and shame on him. I hope he learned his lesson. 2) I don't think accountability should be partisan, so I say we do nothing. 3) really, you are the hater and hate is bad. 4) Love, Cathy. keep them coming.

I really wish there was a condition or limitation let’s say that states that no congressperson elected can have a net worth over $1,000,000. I know that this is totally unrealistic and will never happen but how can we truly be fairly represented by millionaires. You know that their going to continue to hide these mega tax breaks for themselves and corporations because they can and especially the republicans think we are to stupid to notice. Sure the lower and middle class might get a Measley few hundred once every 10 years or so but as long as the super rich govern we will never get a fair shake. Also there has to be some sort of term limits. You can say sure the people can vote them out but then why are there these idiots serving for 20, 30 or 50 years in office. Obviously people in some states are to scared to take a chance on any new blood and when they do the candidate lies through and through til they get elected and then change their tune. Thank you Seth! Since hearing and seeing the Anime that Rep. Paul Gosar put out, I kept saying "Why is it that he can't get fired?" With any job that I have worked, on the first day of employment they have all new hires watch videos on proper working behavior, proper email etiquette, and what is defined as harassment and sexual harassment. They now include in the updated videos after working hours proper behavior with working colleagues if you attend an happy hour event at a bar or restaurant. What you say in a bar or restaurant after work to your colleagues can be used against you if a co-worker takes offense to what you have done or said. This too can now cost you a job in California. Also, employers have their employees who have worked with the company for years take refresher video courses ever year or every other year. Just to make sure you are aware of the harassment laws and workplace etiquettes. So I don't understand how or why a politician is or should be any different. And the GOP Reps. who are defending Rep. Paul Gosar are just as guilty of improper workplace etiquettes. I guess for the common working person it's "Do has I say, not has they do?" And lastly, how quickly people forget what happened with Dan White and Harvey Milk. Maybe these politicians need a refresher and reminder of that horrific day.

Hypocrisy only matters to those interested in decency; those capable of shame. The number 1 issue relevant to the *base* of the modern GOP is hatred of democrats/liberals/non-GOP. All this bad behavior by Gosar only creates more delay of critical and practical legislation from getting done! I really think the only thing that GOP elected do is to distract and impede any progress or real work to get done. This Congressman is using his time to make cartoons that are vicious and violent in the story line. He is a disgrace to the office he is elected to! There should be fines to elected officials when they do things in office that are that disgraceful and are held accountable!! Start hitting them in fines taken out out their pay! Big fines!

I loved the shooting from home stage of the show and now that they're with a live audience, Seth still has the "shooting his shows from home" vibe and it's coming off better than ever.
I love the way Seth is teaching everyone comedy structure. I've always enjoyed analyzing the way a good routine is constructed, and now it's cool to know the names of all these time honored comedy writing techniques

I love that to follow A Closer Look you need to have seen the previous episodes like you're watching Lost. A show mentioned by Seth that he was watching in a previous episode. Last time he compared Trump to a judge holding a score card when holding up a bill he signed now they have Trump holding up score cards. It jokes within jokes and it gets better every week. I was worried the audience would slow him down but he feeds off their energy like the professional he is. Brilliant!

same thing happened last night on colbert with jon reading his wooden (supposedly funny) response off the prompter. 😬 not a fan.
What i find sort of interesting is that the video Gosar posted also had STRONG white nationalist undertones in it. The original show it is from is about a walled off city that has monsters on the outside trying to get in to destroy and literally eat people alive. In the video Gosar posted those "monsters outside the wall" are replaced with immigrants. It is saying the white nationalist talking point of there being a "brown invasion" meant to destroy America. THAT is more unsettling than the other stuff. But then again... white nationalism is now a fundamental tenet of the GOP.
