      not to mention easier on the arms, because imagine doing it yourself and having a lot of hair holding a blowdryer for like 1 hour trying to stretch your hair.... your hair will be friedddd like popeyes chicken wings. Heat protectant can only do so much when it comes to a hot ass blowdryer plus a flat iron on high.

    She isn't lazy. It isn't some new trend. It's smart. It is less stress and less direct heat on the hair. Doing it this way she is less prone to heat damage. I use to get doobies all the time back in the day. It's the same concept but replacing all the tugging and pulling with the round brush with flat ironing instead.

    I love having the luxury of Eden being my stylist. The roller set is what sold me and what I usually have done. I swear my hair holds moisture now and is very healthy. Guys get you a good hairstylist in your life that can teach you how to take care of your hair. She takes her time with your strands from the shampoo sink all the way to styling. Everyone do not know how to do that.

    Okay, so, please forgive my ignorance as I'm a white girl with white girl hair; does the roller set help straighten out some of the natural curl so you aren't having to pull so much on the hair as you straighten it and make fewer passes with the flat iron = less heat damage? I'm trying to learn. I work in the beauty industry and have clients of all nationalities, colors, etc. I get a ton of questions about hair even though I work on the cosmetics side and just hate having to say "I'm sorry, I really don't know"

      the rollers were to keep the natural shine of the hair and stretch it without the direct heat of a blowdryer. since now the hair is detamgled and streched, flat ironing becomes easier and can be done at a lower heat meaning less heat damage.

I just got a flat iron and my hair didn’t not hold for a day(I have extremely thick hair 4C) I think maybe I should just do the roller set with no additional heat cause my hair reverses so fast and I don’t want any heat damage. I am 4a/4b past shoulder length. I am thinking about incorporating rollersets in lieu of twistouts/ braidout to avoid multiple days of manipulation that seems to hinder length retention for me.

    It's pretty it just seems like a long process With the roller set. That still use heat. The hair could have been blow dryed at a lower setting and then flat iron.

    • @jesst6289
      @jesst6289 2 роки тому

      I agree… and I also feel to maintain natural hair pattern you shouldn’t go over the hair that many times when flat ironing maybe 1 or 2 at the most of past throughs. Anything over that, you’re just still using a lot of heat anyway

      É Linda mas obviamente não iria durar 2 minutos assim que ela colocasse os pés pra fora do salão. Porque: humidade = frizz.
      Pra silk press durar cabelo afro tem que ser selado com chapinha.

    • @nyainchinekonyaaaarigatouwu

      The rollers are used to strech the hair and make it less kinky. The flat iron part is nothing compared to the other methods done by beauticians. Imagine ironing a super curly hair. It's way more damaging right?? Also, there's a reason why it's their job coz guess what, *they know what they are doing!*

    • @kayla-vr3dt

      Nastassja Lee and she could put the rollers back on and just do it again without heat or she could straighten with straghnyer

    Roller sets are the old school way of straightening our hair and it is the best way that's why when you watch old movies like set it off or Waiting to Exhale or Poetic Justice all of those black girls had long natural hair because what they was doing back then is better for us even out today and we actually need to get back into doing that f*** that flat iron
