Not to crush your dreams, but do yourself a favour and stay clear of Toronto. i am so happy to see the streets of boston clean...........i remember back in the day , when it was downright dingy looking . like in the movie , the boston strangler with tony curtis . they have done a great job , cleaning it up .....kudos.........
I love your videos Nick!
I grew up on Beacon Hill in Boston, MA. Most of the good stores are long gone. There is a problem with gangs hanging at downtown crossing remaking havoc. Very very sad for those of us that remember it’s earlier charming hustle and bustle.
Really miss Boston! My favorite city!
It's nice!!
My hometown and one of the finest cities in the world.
My first glimpse of Boston since my company’s Boston office shut down in early March 2020. Still working from home and it looks like the office will fully reopen either August 1 or September 1. I can tell you on weekday at 2 pm in normal times, the streets and sidewalks are much more crowded than shown here. It looks more like a Sunday afternoon.
Seattle used to be clean and pretty like Boston is. This was a pleasure to see. Thank you! 🕶🎯🕶
Hopefully it stays like this!
seattle , is bostons sister city.............
"Thanks" to asinine liberal policies, Seattle is fast becoming an open cesspool, similar to Portland (OR), San Fran, Los Angeles, etc. Boston hasn't gone completely mad (thankfully!), as there is some semblance of law & order in and around the city.
I moves to Boston 4 months ago, great people, expensive but delicious food! You don’t need a car it’s a really small city
How about renting cost ?
@@houssemdahmoune9927 Around 2000-3000 in downtown but they give you 1-2 months free.
Wow, cool! This is actually kind of cool. Coincidentally I was literally in the same kind of areas there by Tufts Medical Center & Theater district/Chinatown a lot on March 16, 18th and 19th and while maybe sometimes going to go get dinner in the North End it was a little bit busier at night that was representative of what it looked like in mid-to-late Mar. 2021 daytime. I think Boston is fascinating and has so many different views/sections to it in a small area!
Aw I miss my home city 😭 I always loved taking the T to Park Street station, the nation's first subway system started here. And so much rich American history like the Freedom Trail sites and Paul Revere 🙌 Walk along the Charles River and you get the best views of the skyline!
Yes Krista!
0:42 casually runs a red light LOL
It's legal in some states to turn left onto one-ways.
I’m from Massachusetts and yes it is legal to take a left turn in one ways when the light is red. As long it is safe to do so anyways.
Mass makes you a "good driver" and if ya dont like it we will let you know how to be one..
@@thevarietygameboy5569 Thats wrong...There MUST be a sign that states "left on red AFTER STOP"....You cannot take a left on RED just anywhere!
Been driving Mass Boston and the state for YEARS...in a job that requires driving daily
Only left turn-one way so I think it’s fine.
I LIVE in Boston and found this fascinating. Thanks.
Beautiful Boston, my old home town, miss it terribly
It misses you too James
Boston is my favorite city, guess I'm partial towards it since I only live one hour away, been to many Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics games over the years not to mention many of the bars and restaurants, certainly has slowed down a bit due to the pandemic, you pretty much have to be rich to live comfortably in Boston nowadays, The Tam is quite a legendary great bar which has been around for generations.
Thanks for the great videos of your country Nick, it amazes me that the land mass of the USA is the same size as my country, Australia.. I've got friends in Florida & California & i will be coming over, ASAP.. Take care my friend.. 😊🇺🇲🦘🇦🇺🙏
You too Simon thanks for the insight! You'll be welcomed when you come!

Great to see Boston! Fenway is brings back many memories like “ wait until next year” but the curse is gone😃 Where is the Citgo sign? Dim sum is awesome but what about “chowdah” or Boston baked beans? Another great video! Thanks!
Okay! The citgo sign is on the other side of the stadium.
Thanks
I grew up there. Southie and Dorchester.
Everything I knew is gone.
Almost all the crooked little streets for which Boston was famous, are gone, all covered in big new buildings. It is shocking to see the changes. So many beautiful old buildings gone for nondescript glass sameness. If they would recreate the facades of some of the more outstanding lost buildings and incorporate them into the design of the lower floors of the new ones, it wouldn't be so bad.
I miss Boston Wicked Hahd, but I could sit in the middle of Copley Sq and still miss MY old Boston.
Everything is gone!
I miss the pizza.
It's wicked pissa.
Still in Port Land Orra Gonn...

Watching this in late April 2022 from London. Been researching Boston for over a year now for a move. Thanks for ride! It helped a lot.
I walked up Brookline Ave everyday for my commute before the pandemic. It's so eerily quiet.

Man this city looks so aesthetically pleasing and such a vibe tbh!! Man I hope I get to move to either Toronto, Minneapolis or Boston when I am done with my engineering degree next year tbh!!🤞🏾🙏🏽
You must like snow! Actually, I like the cold so Massachusetts works for me but I'd love to move to Toronto.
@@Simbecile well I grew up in Detroit and lived in general in the Midwest for 11 years but I have lived in Houston for 10 years now and to be fair I am kind of sick and tired of the heat and humidity of the South and it being the same damn climate year round I kinda miss that 4 season aesthetic tbh keeps shit interesting tbh
Not to crush your dreams, but do yourself a favour and stay clear of Toronto. Beside the fact that it is a shithole where you can expect to see drugs used in public places at all times like on transit, or experience people have mental breakdowns all day at any time, the cost of living is some of the highest in North America, and the world in general. If you're comfortable spending $2,500 per month renting a one bedroom apartment, plus utilities, then you may make it. Not sure why you would want to, but that's none of my business. People have been fleeing Toronto in droves since 2020, no one but the crazy rich can afford to live there now. Worst yet, these people have moved all over Canada, completely devastating local economies and real estate prices. Canada is in a ferociously shitty state at the moment with insufficient housing to accomodate new residents, and Toronto and Vancouver are the worst of the lot. Stay away for your own good, my man. But don't take it from me, do your research. Just consider yourself duly warned. Best of luck with your degree!
@@masterdrewanthony whaaaaaaaattttttt, if a city is expensive its because people also get high salaries, and toronto is easily on of the most clean and organized city i have ever been to, people are nice, i have no ideia what you are talking about
Wow. Very quiet for a major city.
And relatively rather clean.
How did it smell?
For example, San Francisco actually stunk. There was stench to the air when I went there, because the street surface had built up mud-like dried slurry which was a caked lining where the street and sidewalk curb met; the "reverse corner". The air smelled. It actually stunk inside the city.

The drive along Storrow Drive from the Mass Pike to downtown is amazing you should have done that one while you were there
Watch out for mega potholes near the Bowker Overpass.

The North End is one of my favorite parts of city 10:35. Great shot of the The Prudential Building (The Pru) turning onto Landsdown Street @ 16:45
My work has me traveling all over the country and all over the world. I am in Boston about 5 times a year, and it's my absolute favorite place in the entire world. It's clean. It's safe. It's easy to walk around. It's highly liberal. It's beautiful. It's historic. It's also got some of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I will probably retire in Boston some day.
I used to love Boston but stay away from it due to the fact it's highly liberal.

boston has really become a spectacular city.
Soooooooo many times I've walked along those streets you drove by... while being drunk af, lol. I miss Boston... I miss my birth state of Mass. Too bad the cost of living in Massachusetts forced me to move to the South Carolina.
I live close by and always loved Mass. Its a beautiful state. So sorry you had to move because of taxes. I certainly understand that!
South Carolina ! Gosh are you still ok?
Which streets do you walk down in South Carolina?
@@RobinMarconeCassidyRN It's ok. As @Simbecile said it wasn't the taxes. Cost of living did it for me. My final year in Mass I ended up moving 6 times because rent alone was destroying me, to the point I was paying almost $2K/month for a studio apartment. My sister lives in SC and told me to come down and check it out. After 3 weeks I said screw it, I'm moving. I still prefer Mass over SC any day but financially, it's the best decision I've made. Now I own my apartment and took a loan (paid off too) for 2 more units which I rent out. Tax wise, I get back 3 times more in SC than in Mass on my returns. Can't complain there!
@@david-lt9wj Lmao yes I'm fine! SC, though not perfect, is not as bad as I thought it would be. As for walking, SC is not a state for walking. You can get away with it in Mass but you definitely need a car to get around anywhere in SC. Sucks but it is what it is. My biggest complaint is that nobody can't drive for s**t in SC.
Looks very much like cities in the U.K.
Never seen boston more quiet and empty, in the summer back before quarantine of 2019, it was like nyc all day every day, nice vid

Colored bike lines, wide sidewalks, bus only lanes, and one way streets. This is what a city should look like

The streets are empty, because of the quarentine. In NORMAL TIMES the streets you're going through usually have a lot of people. Better to be safe than in the hospital sick.
