We first reviewed the Rad Power Bikes RadCity 5+ ST in late 2021/early 2022, but felt it was time for an update since a new Special Edition of the bike is now available. We explore the differences to see if there were any changes in performance in this Rad Power Bikes RadCity 5+ ST review!
The Special Edition of the bike comes in a new Tiger Orange paint job for high visibility - plus it just looks good! The bike also swapped out its old Dutch-style handlebars for wider low-rise bars for improved steering control.
Its motor, however, has not changed; the bike is propelled by a 750W rear-hub motor with Rad’s trademark tuned-down feel. It still packs a punch, but it gives the bike a safer, steadier feeling that we happily recommend for riders of all ages.
Additionally, the Special Edition retains the RadCity 5+ ST’s great level of comfort; with ergonomic grips and a mid-size saddle, it’s enjoyable for long rides.
Check out our Rad Power Bikes RadCity 5+ ST review to see how the bike performed!

I prefer a more upright riding posture to avoid back and neck pain, as well as to have better visibility of my surroundings, so curved for me. The motor helps with the increased air resistance.

    Probably the curved ones.

I have the standard step thru and I like it a lot! It's affordable but not cheap. Heavy but I hope there are newer ebikes with less weight soon. I would love this colour orange (or red) on my bike! but I will add some red panniers and red flat pedals to mine this Summer! A splash of colour! Great bikes

haha, they still have the rear reflector and fender mounts in the wrong holes. Look at the absurd fender clearance at the top of the tire. aaaand the headlight still doesn't stay where it's pointed 5:02 and they blew it with the handlebars for me, I prefer the upright for comfort and looking around. At least they didn't spoil it with fatter tires!!

I ride Rad bikes and disagree, although I understand that a person focused on components might think so. Rad bikes are trying to be simple, daily transportation. They care more about how easy the bike is to dismount or get groceries with, than about how fast it goes. Cool.
