I used to be one of those people that thought your music for SPV3 sounds far too grand-scale or swelling to fit in with Halo. However, I had an epiphany that's come to make me appreciate it much more when I was listening to the soundtrack for Halo Wars 2. While your music certainly is missing the... overall air of subtlety that I believe Mr. O'Donnell's overall score had, it still sounds like Halo music, and damn good Halo music, at that. You know what doesn't sound like Halo music? The Halo Wars 2 OST. You know what else wasn't at all subtle and was super grand scale and swelling? Halo 5's OST. This isn't Halo: CE. This is Halo SPV3, with large, epic levels featuring epic encounters with new bad guys and featuring a new, grand scale sandbox of weapons, expanding on the old game like never before, so it oughta have a score that fits. And your score does exactly that. It treats the Halo series with the reverence it deserves, while adding your own personal spin to it. So yeah. Your music is grand, swelling, and epic, but I think it oughta be, and it deserves to be. This is a grand and epic mod that sends a message of passion and love to the series Bungie created. How else should we express such love than through a grand, epic display like this?
I agree wholeheartedly. This sounds like an homage to a long-forgotten epic. An old classic left to collect dust, now rediscovered, and improved upon, modified with passion and respect to the people that made the original.
What really made this stick to me the most is that when we first here it was on the mission none left behind. We travel back to where we first landed on the ring. At first, I didn't notice much other there the level and was very excited about a new level. After a few minutes in fighting flood, what remain of covenant, and the sentinels forces. I looked up at the ring while the music was playing and then I took it in. The ring was a nightmare vision of it former self. The part of the ring was on fire and the other half look far alien it looked before. The air around the map had turn into a disgusting crimson with bellowing tower of smoke and past that, the bright sicking looks of the stars above. The world we came to was dying, damage, and sick. Far from the lush, pure, healthy world we first saw. War has come and along it sickness. Not only that the context of the story at that time. Your trying to save one of the few last remains of humans on the ring against hordes of nightmares. While fighting the emotionless sentinels, the terrified covenant, remorseless flood along the way. While you fight your way to the autumn and destroying the ring. This song always remind me how I felt at the moment and I can gladly said I do enjoy the new look in perspective about the last part of halo CE and SPV3.
I literally come back to this every month or so to this day, such a perfect halo song. Transported to the snowy ravines of AOTCR with marines alongside and Wraith mortars overhead.
Man. Since it's been here I've always come back to it every month or so. Thoroughly amazing track, so many great parts; the intro, 1:14, 2:02,... Sounds like Halo, feels like Halo, kicks ass, 11/10. Tracks like these make me realize that SPV would only be half as good without them.
Good job mate. Keep up the great work. Definitely getting SPV 3 soon, I downloaded Custom Edition and plan on getting it alongside lumora and Cursed Halo
Un increíble trabajo, suena idéntico a como debería de sonar un soundtrack de halo, sin duda deberías de formar parte de el equipo de sonido de 343 para halo infinite
in my opinion, you have done a better job remastering halo combat evolved's music than those who made the soundtrack for halo CE anniversary. good job.
In some interviews with Marty O’Donnell they ask him the same questions and Marty answer that the reason why the anniversary CE music sound different is because at the time Marty was working on destiny and they were very involved with Sony, so Microsoft gave the order not to hire him or even contact him, despite many of the musicians and composers in 343 asking for Marty to help, because of that, they had to remake all the CE music by ear, just because they couldn’t get the music sheets or stemps without asking Marty Ake bothering Microsoft, that’s why the remasters sounds totally different despite many of the people working were friends with Marty or work with him and Salvatori.
I have not yet managed to play myself SPV3 since the Part One release, but the sound you & the gang gave it, especially the original tracks left it's impression alright. And this is yet more smoothly refined gold to my ears! (Just as that old TSC:E Chief is gold to my eyes, so consider me delighted to see it & Bungie's good ol' Mark V making an HD comeback in 3.3). And an aside: I just stumbled upon your 'Reverence in Motion', and I don't think I've been so *captured* by a Halo fan-tune since Scias's 'Gravity' (Still hoping the SPV3 Team can find a use for it if they haven't yet). Consider me both deeply eager to hear what you have in store for Project Lumoria: SPV3 Edition & see it all arrive alongside what's still getting the SPV3 Definitive treatment arrive on your Bandcamp.
This version is technically better with the higher-quality audio and such, but it's still not a patch on the original. The original version of this track had a woeful, melancholy feel to it that really it it seem like you were fighting an unwinnable war for a desolate, lonely place far from home. This version sounds too upbeat, and it doesn't really convey the feelings of anguish and horror that the original had.
I'm in no way a musical expert, but the tonal progression here (if that's the proper term) rings true to O'Donnell and Salvatori's works in the original trilogy, plus your own spin on it. Simply delicious!
Ye I think this was one of the first tracks I did back in 2015 when I was trying to do like bootleg mixed versions of original tracks. This was supposed to be a weird covenant dance hybrid but I failed and changed it to what it is rn :p
I wonder if the composers could use this song for inspiration of one of their songs in Halo Infinite in which they create a Halo Infinite song that sounds similar to this?
@@JafetMeza But it would be pretty cool if a song in Halo Infinite were to sound similar to this. You could always contact the composers of Halo Infinite.

@@JafetMeza Doesn't it also play in the AOTCR Underground too?
I think so ye
@@JafetMeza I just distinctly remember that. Whenever I hear 'Wraiths' I think of the Underground.
I adore this piece. The choir at the end is phenomenal!

Nicely done, you should try to contact Marty in an interview, that would be interesting. And nice work mate, excellent soundtrack.

Love this wraiths remix!
