15:26 Your sweat made a 💙 shape on your t-shirt 5555 Just some quick tips to fight with BKK heat. - Always have some napkin with you, either cloth or small pack of tissue from 7-11 will do. - Drinks are quite easy to find, so drink plenty. - Quickly pop in and out those shops with a/c, and use department stores as bypasses. This will give you more stamina. - Always walk under the shade. We Thais constantly and unconsciously look for shade. You can try observing our behavior. Thai women even carry small umbrellas to protect themselves from the sun.
The first snack is called Kanom Tokyo, literally translated as Tokyo Snack. I have no idea why it's called that way though. Both toilet paper and napkin are called in Thai "tissue" and tissue in Thai perception can be used anywhere. They don't sense the difference between toilet paper and napkin. The word "chai" means yes when you want to reconfirm something to your interlocutor. But actually you can substitute it with a simple "krub" which, of course you already know, grammatically is an ending word to be added to male speakers' sentences as politeness courtesy. But "krub" itself can also mean "yes" or "exactly". So if you say "krub" instead of "chai", it's pretty fine. Sounds like a Thai. You can also say "chai krub". Up to you. ☺️ A bite of Isaan sausage tastes better with a ginger slice and a very small bite of a fresh chili. Believe me this chili only has a very slight kick which helps balance out the heaviness of the sausage. You may try next time. It's delicious! And yes, Thai people do love sweet flavor!! 😝 I do enjoy your videos. Always interesting contents! 👍
I’m really glad to know you enjoyed it. I had to cut a lot of the transitional footage out because the video would’ve been 25-30 minutes long otherwise. I wasn’t sure people would even like a 20 minute video, but just like you, lots of people really liked this episode.

Anyway I am amazed that your Thai prononciation is really on point l. You r adaptable and don’t forget the southern part of Thai and the northern part as well.👏🙏🤗🌷 good job👌
FYI some kind of Thai street food you might need to eat together like E-San sausage the owner asked you that would you like sour or regular then you should try with ginger and Thai chills if you need spicy. For Thai boat noodle you can add crispy pork skin (on your table) inside your broth it’s delicious too. Have fun I’m really enjoyed your video.
Hi Serg, just a quick observation on the pineapple. The lady told you that she'd got two choices of pineapple, crunchy or juicy. You chose crunchy which is less sweet. Juicy would have been more sweet. Also, if you preferred very sweet the miniature pineapple called "Poo Rare Pineapple" or "Sub Pa Rod Poo Rare" are always juicy and very sweet.
Oh thanks for letting me know! I was wondering what she was saying to me. And I’ve definitely had the small pineapple you’re talking about, those are always really good.
you need to carry a piece of paper with you that is in Thai/English with pork, duck, chicken etc on it.would be a great investment. Also have you been to my favorite Bangkok restaurant...Margarita Storm on Sukhumvit, was reasonably priced and had decent food. By the way great videos, really enjoying them...Thanks for your hard work !! Matt from Scottsdale
Glad you enjoyed my videos Matt. I really need to just learn more Thai to make my life easier. I’ve been putting it off, but since I already speak several languages fluently, I have no excuse not to learn Thai. I will definitely look into Margarita storm, thanks for the tip!
😊Hi Serg ,I'm glad that you have a wonderful time in Thailand right now. 17.20 that's call "Rote" is a dessert 19.00 Grilled Chicken Liver (I though) and Grilled Nham (rice+pork)
2:26 Grilled pork is designed to eat with sticky rice. It's a ready-to-go meal especially in the mornings. 10:27 It's Singapore Cookie which isn't Singaporean Cookie. 😅
You’re brave for strolling around all day in that weather. I wouldn’t haha Fyi though Serg, the h in “clusters” like “ph” or “th” in Thai words are to signal aspiration; meaning it’s there to tell that those p’s and t’s are “soft” p’s and t’s. So “Phra Khanong” is pronounced with a “soft” /p/, like the world “pillow”. Similar goes for words like Thailand or Krung Thep, they are all “soft” /t/.
Great vid mate, I'm hoping to be back there very soon since 2019. Quick question regarding your iPhone, are use using the camera iPhone app or the Filmic Pro App. Cheers man.
I just use the iPhone built-in app. I also edit everything on my iPhone using iMovie. Have a great laptop and editing software, I just need to sit down and learn it. Lol
Really? In Dubrovnik? I thought Croatia was still rather inexpensive (compared to rest of Europe)? Food here is very inexpensive, however it’s my understanding that MSG and sugar are in almost everything here.
Hi Serg a very nice Video full culinary impressions. I like Street Food and why I should spend my money for an expensive Restaurant if I could eat Street Food? I saw a Video by the UA-camr „Discover Thailand“. He showed a Video Street Food All you can Eat for 40 Baht. Yeah in Thailand it’s possible to live rather low priced and nevertheless very delicious.
The last two things you've eaten are NAMM PING (grilled fermented pork - the word NAMM means fermented pork and the word PING means grill) and TUBB KAI PING (grilled chicken's liver) or maybe it is grilled chicken's gizzard.
The ingredients of Isan sausage are mint pork , sticky rice , salt , pepper and the important one is garlic..anyway, the pillow shape pork bbq almost similar to Isan sausage (less stickly rice)..
and yes hand sanitizer are a must have. there is small bottles with a blue liquid hat are for disinfecting scratches etc. I used that and apart from the ccp virus I never got sick.
Hey Serg, I have really been enjoying your videos. I am going to move to either Bangkok or Hua Hin in a couple of years. I plan on visiting in Thailand in November to decide between the two. Keep up the good work.
The skewer is pork its called moo pink pork on skewer, you should definitely try a dessert called bouille its tapioca coloured circles in coconut milk its amazing
👍🏻 Just watching a few of your older videos. I like these stick-to dollar amount budget Videos. Yes, My Background Is German Irish I 💖 Liver and various Offal.
Awww don’t be jealous, I worked hard for many years and now this is my passion. It’s not as glamorous as most people think. 😜 Yes, my whole reason coming to Thailand is that I wanted to travel to many regions. I plan to do several motorbike tours as soon as the rainy season ends. I’ll probably be in Chiang Mai for a few weeks next month.
16.40 The food that you eat is called "roti". Main ingredients are flour, eggs, butter, milk, sugar. Of course, it tastes good. But you don't eat it often. because it is not good for health
Yes I love roti. I’ve had it many times in Indian restaurants in America, but this is a very different kind of roti. It’s delicious, but as you mention it’s definitely not the healthiest food. 555
The little pillow shape pork on the stick is called "Nam". It's pork with garlic and sometimes they put pork skin to add some texture to it. It's best to make it and preserved it for a few days or a week till it has the sour flavor a little. It's similar to E-Sarn sausage. It's good with fresh ginger and cabbage and fresh chili.
My bf and I just love your videos and mark wiens so we came to bangkok with y’all in mind! We’ve been here a few days and always watch your videos for recommendations
if you want to do this. I recommend you go check it out at the gate or up front of any schools around 4 pm. after school there will be cheep food, snack at student price selling there. what you ate in this clip you can find at up front school. don't need to walk around.
It was really fun. I made the mistake of recording this on the weekend, so they were very few street food vendors out. If you go out on a weekday they will be at least twice as many.
Hello Good morning i see you i think very good i think you love Thailand i you like food Thailand so much for your ok good luck take care for you Bye thanks you
I’m glad you enjoyed it. I made the huge mistake of doing it on a weekend so very few of the street food vendors were out. I guess I just like to make things difficult for myself. Ha ha
You must have done 10k+ steps!💪 Interesting to see different of little things 👍(couldn't give you comments about organ meats as I'm vegetarian) Enjoyable vlogging as always🙏
I have a new challenge for you Serg. Spend a day eating street food that is void of both meat and sugar. Can you do it? Will you have anything to eat? Loved that view at the end. Is that from the balcony of your apartment?
I absolutely enjoy good vegetarian and vegan food. One of the major problems I’m having here in Thailand, well at least in Bangkok, is finding dishes that are deep fried and have a good amount of vegetables.
Thank you for letting me know what’s inside, I really do love the Isaan sausage. Yes, I plan to go to Chiang Mai and do my first motorbike tour in that area next month. I’ll be going to many different areas of Thailand starting in July.
i don't know if you know it or not or you knew but it didn't work but you can buy a cooling neck wrap that can keep the heat off. I saw it at a Bed Bath and Beyond but you can find it on line too.
I enjoy watching your experience in Thai. I become your fan after watching 4 video of yours. Glad you have a good time in Thai. What I notice is that eating street food cause too many plastic bags. Suggest you to try Thai restaurants in Paragon G floor. There are very good Thai food there and it's not hot :)
Absolutely. I’m not a tree hugger, but they use so much plastic here. You will buy some street food that comes in a little plastic bag and they will try to put it into another plastic bag. Also if you buy a coffee or any kind of drink that they make, they will try to put it to a plastic bag with handles you can carry and drink from it. I try to take a few plastic bags as possible. There’s just either very little care, or no education about waste and recycling. BUT…. It’s a small price to pay for how warm and friendly the people here are.
@@LifewithSerg I totally agree with you. Actually before Covid, Thailand just started to promote a campaign of reducing plastic bag in 7-11 and shopping mall but it's hard for street food (takeaway) And then Covid made people use plastic even more. Especially when we order food from the rider app.
uemmmm.. I'm hungry. Even almost noon, my local time but still don't have breakfast 🤗🤗 Just FYI, another type of Pineapple ist more juicy and sweet. I like the one you took😃
Yeah, a couple people mentioned that she was asking me if I wanted the crunchy or the sweet. I only know a couple of basic phrases in Thai, so I did not know what she asked. I definitely would’ve picked the sweet one had I known. I’ve got another video coming out in about an hour. It will probably make you hungry as well. Lol
i know right?! the food court at mbk isn't too bad either eh. btw, you're an absolute legend for persevering through the bkk heat & humidity like that!
To be honest with you, of all the food courts of tried in Bangkok, I like MBK the least. I think my favorite so far is the one in central world. And yah, the heat and humidity. 🤪🥵
oh man, i had such good japanese curry at this place in centralworld (+ chiang mai sausage at one of the outside stalls) nomnomnom so much good food in thailand... though i tend to ask for no sugar in my drinks because the sugar highs and lows were too much for me haha love your videos man, keep up the amazing content ;)
Everything IS loaded with sugar. You can get regular iced tea here and there. I’ve learned the hard way that if you order green tea, you get it with sweetener and condensed milk. 🤣 Lol. If you ask for soda, you will get plain soda water, so that is what I do.
Hi Serg be careful drinking fruit juice at street vendor, because some vendor don't use filter water in their bottle. My wife got serious food poison when we were at Bangkok few year ago.
Yeah, I definitely think twice when I see those drinks on the street. I’ll only buy those kind of drinks from vendors in larger markets. I know that doesn’t guarantee anything, but it makes me feel a little bit better.
Sad that you didn't try the Chinatown. With $2 you would be full. Try once the fried wide rice noodles in corn starch soup 1$. The pork leg stewed in cannel, large serve $2. Cheapest can have what $200 per day quarantine hotels were serving as lunch is 2 chicken sausages 10 Baht each and rice 5 Baht.
You are old school feel. Just like the white dudes I used to meet when I first migrated to the San Fran Bay Area. Look very positive, honest (to most Chinese, dumbhah, that is a good compliment), naive, being happy. I don’t see many like you here anymore which is sad
Well, I've been coming and going for 18 years now with my Thai wife. In between, it's been California, Hawaii and Florida. Most recently Florida for three years. Now we are back to Bangkok and looking forward to stay long term. I hope to make a video or two as well to share my own experiences and look forward perhaps to get together and share ideas with you as well, not as a competitor, but as part of a team building up interest in a culture we feel has some minimally equal and interesting, but sometimes highly attractive and superior aspects to those to which we were accustomed in the USA (or Ameri-KA, as they say here). For reference purposes, I live near the intersection of New Petchuburi and Asoke (a.k.a. Rachadapisek) roads.
Hello Daniel. I think it’s great that you want to make content here. You should do it, 100%. Some UA-camrs feel we are all competitors, which is quite silly. It’s such a huge pie, there’s plenty of slices for everyone.
Yes it is very cheap here (by western standards). There’s a huge variety of street food available, but not all of it is the healthiest. Lol Hope all is well with you and everyone in Ukraine Makc!

I will have to go and take a look at this market. You’re the third, or fourth, person to recommend it on this video today
Thanks Serg, appreciate the tour!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. I made the huge mistake of doing it on a weekend so very few of the street food vendors were out. I guess I just like to make things difficult for myself. Ha ha
@@LifewithSerg Now you have a reason to do it again. ha
You must have done 10k+ steps!💪 Interesting to see different of little things 👍(couldn't give you comments about organ meats as I'm vegetarian) Enjoyable vlogging as always🙏
13km to be honest. It was Butal.
You must have S-Class Serg! Looking good on you. 😁😁😁
I appreciate that. Lol. I’m much more of a BMW M car guy. Id love to get a car here some day. A project car, something fun.
@@LifewithSerg 😁
I love organ meats! And really enjoy your channel. 😊
I like them once in a while. I’m glad you enjoy my videos. Thank you for your support.
Isaan Sausage has pork meat, pork fat, rice, and garlic. Enjoying your walks around town. Will you be heading to other cities as well?
Thank you for letting me know what’s inside, I really do love the Isaan sausage. Yes, I plan to go to Chiang Mai and do my first motorbike tour in that area next month. I’ll be going to many different areas of Thailand starting in July.
The last one you tried today is Nam+... Sam as esan sausages, you should eat it with fresh chilli
Ah ok.
Great vid Serg, quite adventurous on that food you tried, well done 😎👍did they do a veggie noodle soup at the 20THB noodle restaurant?
I’m pretty sure they had a veggie version there. It’s a great little place, I can’t recommend it enough.
Oh... That's my neighborhood. 19.09 that's gizzard (chicken)
Ahhh was delicious.
This was a cool one! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed!
Nice! :D Thanks for the dopamine video!
Glad you enjoyed it… But how did you finish a 20 minute video two minutes after it came out? Lol. 🤣🤔😜
FYI. The pineapple seller has two choices of pineapple offered you side by side. One is sweet/ crunchy (that you took) and one sweet /juicy.
Yeah I was wondering what she was saying to me. Somebody else just explained it to me. Wish I had tried the sweet one instead, But that’s OK.
Oh and the one in the case that looks like a small pasty are my favourite man... 😁👍
Yah it’s all good.
@@LifewithSerg 😉
i don't know if you know it or not or you knew but it didn't work but you can buy a cooling neck wrap that can keep the heat off. I saw it at a Bed Bath and Beyond but you can find it on line too.
I just need to get used to it.
come to thailand you will see the difference Delicious food and beautiful sights, waterfalls and sea .🥰😍😘🇹🇭🇹🇭Thank you
Yes it’s great.
Keep up the great videos Serg!
Thanks Kevin. I’ve got a few different video ideas I am working on.
Ok I will go there and check it out.
I agree, to much packaging/plastic bags.
Yes, one of my Thai friends told me the same. Covid messed up a lot of things. 😕
uemmmm.. I'm hungry. Even almost noon, my local time but still don't have breakfast 🤗🤗
Just FYI, another type of Pineapple ist more juicy and sweet.
Lol
@@LifewithSerg yeah, I saw the new VDO but for sure, I finished breakfast (at 16.00 local time) b4 watching it😁😁
And the soups are top notch
Yeah they are!
i had some fried chicken by onnut bts that was amazing
There’s just like some great street food around that BTS station.
i know right?! the food court at mbk isn't too bad either eh.
btw, you're an absolute legend for persevering through the bkk heat & humidity like that!
To be honest with you, of all the food courts of tried in Bangkok, I like MBK the least. I think my favorite so far is the one in central world.
And yah, the heat and humidity. 🤪🥵
oh man, i had such good japanese curry at this place in centralworld (+ chiang mai sausage at one of the outside stalls) nomnomnom
so much good food in thailand... though i tend to ask for no sugar in my drinks because the sugar highs and lows were too much for me haha
love your videos man, keep up the amazing content ;)
If you would like to try the longest street food, let me know. There are many kind of food and taste so good.
Where?
@@LifewithSerg China town, Yaowaraj. I can go with you if you'd like.
Oh yes. I’ve been there.
10 KM. walk. Good idea cause beside exploration, you should burn a lot of calories from the food that you had during the walk.
It actually ended up being just a little over 30 km. I definitely know I burned a lot of that food off!
Hi Serg, I am a German and I don't like livre in Germany but in Thailand on holiday I can eat it without problems...
I am really dying to go to Germany. You’ll probably laugh, but one of the big reasons is I really want to drive the Nurburgring. Lol
Welcome to thailand Thailand have food so much and not expensive
Can you get regular brown ice tea without any sugar in it? (everything there looks like it's loaded with sugar)
Have a nice day🙏🤟👍✌✌
Thank you, you too.
Great video! I like beef tounge in burritos! Cheap! So what is your thoughts about Thailand legalized Marijuana?
Ahhh you like lengua. Nice. I don’t really have an opinion on legalized wed here. I lived in California for 41 years, so I’m used to it.
There’s just too many different places to go, Bangkok is a giant city and I decided to pick things that were easily located near BTS stops.
Thumbs Up 👍
Thanks!
Next time, try esan sausage with fresh chilli..
Oh I have. It’s good!
Let's try Victory Monument boat noodle. bro
Ok I will go look. Thanks.
Chinatown episode pls!! Khob khun kub 🙏
I still have not explored Chinatown, so I will have to put that on my list.
Enjoy
Oh yes!
If you living border of Bkk. like me that 's noodle cost 12-15 thb.
Yes there’s always something cheaper, and something more expensive.
You are old school feel. Just like the white dudes I used to meet when I first migrated to the San Fran Bay Area. Look very positive, honest (to most Chinese, dumbhah, that is a good compliment), naive, being happy. I don’t see many like you here anymore which is sad
Thank you for the compliments. Glad you enjoy my style.
I am very OG lol
My god! You walk 7 hours!? How can your video not last an hour? 😄 just kidding. Thanks for sharing your amazing video.
Lol. I made the mistake of doing the video on a weekend, when most of the street food vendors are not working. Glad you enjoyed it!
Серёж, я заметил что ты чревоугодник. Всё время ешь.))
я не ел каждый кусочек. тихо. ха-ха
Ohhh, such price for street-food - Only in my dream😁
Yes it is very cheap here (by western standards). There’s a huge variety of street food available, but not all of it is the healthiest. Lol
Hope all is well with you and everyone in Ukraine Makc!
@@LifewithSerg May be try to take this challenge, 1$ street-food. But this's very horrible😁 scary me😁
