    So what's going on with California,? You only have 80,000 redwoods , the Victorians bought many back to UK over 100 years ago and they have a total of 500,000 , considering the size of UK , why is the birthplace of redwoods so less ?

      Good question. Maybe more are being planted in the U.K. than in CA

      Yes, but the wood itself is like Gold, naturally resistant to rot and decay , perfect for outdoor use , not many other types can handle outdoors, I read an article and it Say's the tallest redwood in America is 90metres in height and the tallest one in UK is 54 metres even though they are younger by maybe 500 years or more , its the damp climate of UK providing plenty of water for them to thrive
