There is actually no way to survive this story. Because in the story, there are only 2 kinds of people in it, those infected, and those not. regardless of what happen to a certain person, they will never ever get infected and those that will get infected, will always get infected. The proof here is rather in the manga though (in the manga, the male was the MC and the female was the infected) because in the manga, the male slipped to a sewer filled with those fishes(in the anime, it was the friend). Although he was saved after only god knows how long since then, he still woke up 1 month later in a hospital fully intact and at the end, he met up with other survivors who also couldn't get infected no matter what happens. So in short, the only way for you to survive in this story, is to pray that you belong to the small group of people who are immune to the sentient gas fart.

Heres the differents between the manga and the anime. As you already seen the basic run down from this video, the manga version the couple was always together throughout the whole story until they reach the uncle home/laboratory. The female got hook up into the mechanical walker. Go crazy and run away. And stab the uncle also but didnt die except he go willingly get hook up to the mech with the help of his maid. The guy runs out to search for his mech fiancee right after the mech go crazy and run away at this poiny. While running around looking for her, he got bumb rush and fell to the drain where theres full of those fish mech and passed out only to wake up later found out that he is in hospital. Oh and the uncle came out at one point fused together with the maid while in that mech and they got in battle with the couple which lead him to get bumb rush and fell to the drain. And when he finally found her, shes nothing more than chared corpse at this point and still hook on the mech. Yea fun times. Also, throughout the story, the female was horrible towards him the whole time maybe due to the fact that she can smell the horrible smell the whole time while he cant but only until one get face to face with him. So i guess if you can smell it before, you might be easier to get infected.
"what one should really fear is not a competent enemy, but an incompetent ally" i agree with the decision on ditching her friends, that was the best idea
As someone who read gyo I have a question. It was stated that those fish were already dead, and that the machines only controlled the movements of the 'legs' , hence wouldn't it be impossible for the shark to actually hunt and bite? The ones created by the professor later on are exceptions, since they are man-made.
The manga tries to allude to them actually not attacking anyone, their dead bodies moving all over the place is supposed to make it look like they're purposely attacking people
I will have to suggest that it's a trope of unreliable narration there. As we saw in both the manga and the anime, the virus once infects a living animal will slowly progress its living tissues and create that gas (which is actually what happen in a corpse). The mechanical contraption is just there to harness the gas as its supply. Therefore, the contraption needs not to worry whether something is alive or not. It just needs something that is infected with the virus. We saw that the girl that the giant walker collect is still alive. I believe in someway humans can still control the movement of the walker until their brain is dead completely and the walker took over the control with only one instinct of gathering more supply source. The reason why the shark attacks the group in the first place seem to be something else. It is probably because of the machine and the gas. As I theorise, the walker must have exhaust all animals in the sea. That's why they move on land to search for more. When Kaori met the meatball, it got more than enough supply so it doesn't need to be aggressive with gaining more supply anymore.
In the manga Kaori’s fiancé is the protagonist and Kaori is the one that ends up as a human walker. Also it’s stated that a small percentage of humans is naturally immune to the walker bacteria and this includes the protagonist. The manga also includes a time-skip where Tadashi is taken to an emergency medical tent after receiving a lot of small injuries from the fish and collapsing in exhaustion, so it can be inferred that he became infected but his immune system fought it off instead of becoming zombified. Also the manga basically implies the gas itself is alive and controlling everything infected to take over the world.
Pretty cool that they actually put up a fight since generally in disaster movies like zombies the government just self destructs while plucky teenagers survive and thrive but in this one they actually survive for a good while

@@schmeatgaming853 The biggest issue I see is tanks and other weapons we use require a standard formation. Good film, but the manga was better. I just adore Junji Ito's ability to both find and use his unique artstyle to so viscerally convey the horrific and the twisted about the most mundane of everyday phenomena and situations.
I’ve never watched the film, do they explain where all the robot legs are coming from? Because in the manga at the end you find out the virus is pretty much sentient and synthesized the legs from sunken ship parts.
Yes , It was said this infection was made by japan in island to make zombie army in ww2 but as they made the subject they couldn’t move so they made a machine part that use the gases in their body to move the machine but American army attacked the ships and the subject was sank in the ocean
The original legs-machines has been evolved and reproduce them self all these years in an unknown mistical way, this GYO movie could be just the story of season one, there is more story to tell if some one adapt it into a drama like The Walking Dead.

What I’ve been wondering ever since I first watched this is: Where do the extra machines come from? There was only one ship that was sunk during WW2 so there wouldn’t even be enough for the first fish attack at the beginning of the movie an now we suddenly have enough extra machines for seemingly the entire human population popping out of nowhere!
@@planetbob6703 no plan for reaction. Guns don't exactly work on those things and they have attacked heavily populated areas which means the military can't really use the heavier fires power.
So apparently, because I was interested too, the Wikipedia page states, "that the virus created the walking machines after synthesizing them from shipwrecks." So basically the bacteria was alive enough to create these really complicated walking machines that work off gas pressure produced by the human body.... I refuse to believe that drugs are illegal in Japan.
Here’s a helpful edit suggestion: Try switching the music style or adding a different color shading whenever you transition between narration and explaining how to beat the anime. This way the video flows better, and the viewers can more easily understand what you are talking about.

and not to mention, Tanks Exist. SPAA's Exist. we can pretty much use them to our advantage. (if you're the type of person that goes tank hunting with AP belts in Warthunder, you know what exactly what i mean) Hell, I'm convinced even SPAA's from WW2 won't have any problems fighting the Fish and the infected humans. though Open-top vehicles would be a risk to be in considering that, well, their Open top. that means the creatures and the infected can just jump up onto the crew compartment and all hell would break loose.
@@schmeatgaming853 The biggest issue I see is tanks and other weapons we use require a standard formation. Our formation can easily be disrupted by the machines because there are too many of them and they vary in size from mouse size to whale size.
Small size would allow them to break into the formation and disrupt the crews or kill them.

Good film, but the manga was better. I just adore Junji Ito's ability to both find and use his unique artstyle to so viscerally convey the horrific and the twisted about the most mundane of everyday phenomena and situations.
Agree, in the manga it seemed far more hopeless despite having a similar ending
But of course it was Ito, i was like this movie is so hopeless and depressing, must have been written by Ito.
Honestly, I don't have any complaints! I love your channel, and listening to it while doing something else is very fun!

I feel regardless of the hard landings, flying would be their best option to travel. Anything on ground is dangerous. I wouldn’t travel by boat neither because, at the end of the day they are still fish they can always spin the block back to the ocean. I’m dead! Flying is the best option.
