Because ignorant people constantly come around to get offended at "misgendering", Chihiro is NOT transgender. He was a crossdresser due to his own insecurities about his masculinity. Before he died, he wanted to become stronger and embrace his gender.
I want to point out for anyone wondering both from the game and/or the anime why they made the first culprit so obvious, the image of Sayaka's death wasn't changed during the translation from Japanese to English. The point was that it was supposed to be spelled in English AND upside down, so it being a name wouldn't be the first thought of most Japanese players. It would be pretty hard to change it for Western audiences to give it the same level of difficulty though, so they just left it how it was, making the first trial in the series infamously easy.
It’s also worth noting that the cast generally refer to each other by their surnames in the Japanese version as well. So for the person in question, they would usually be calling him Kuwata, rather than Leon.
I love how Danganronpa portrays strength in Chapter 2, it's not just your body frame, a muscular body, breaking the rules and violence that makes you a "man" like Mondo. Rather, it's trying to overcome your greatest fears to protect everyone including yourself and move forward with determination, no matter what your body looks like. Just like how Chihiro did. Aside from Kirigiri, Chihiro was one of the most useful characters in here because of the Alter Ego he created which not only saved a life but provided info as well. If Chihiro lived longer, there would be more tactics under his sleeve. The fact that in Danganronpa IF, Kyoko personally trusted Chihiro alone to come with her to meet Mukuro, a possible enemy that might kill them. She could've asked other people to come with them since Chihiro has a small body frame compared to other students but she believed in Chihiro's mental strength and loyalty that Chihiro promised that he will quickly warn the others if something happened to Kyoko rather than being the next victim.

I usually watch anime recap videos blind. As in, haven't watched the anime in question in these types of videos. But for Danganronpa: the anime I have. It hits different when you watch someone analyze their take on a series you've watched before rather than haven't watched at all. Ah you might’ve watched one of the sequels, from your description I’m guessing danganronpa 2: goodbye despair/danganronpa 3:the end of hopes peak high school! Goodbye despair was the game, while end of hopes peak was the anime that took place before games! End of hopes peak high followed 2 stories, the life of the characters from the second game, and we watched the world endings via Junko, while the second story takes place after the first season of the anime/first game (the one this recap was on) ik there are some lightnovels and stuff but unfortunately I haven’t read them, but I do know that there are 2 more games after 1 and 2, the next one is a spin off game where we followed Makotos sister and Toko Fukawa after the events of this story in a town overrun with Monokuma, and the last is V3, which follows the same idea as 1 and 2, but it’s supposed to be an alternate universe type thing
@@Bram. all you need to know is that there is 2 canonical games (which this anime is based off the first game being Hope, while the second one was the one where they escaped the island, which ill call Island) and 3 seasons of the anime (before this video being Despair, this video being Hope, and after the video being Future). It goes in this order, Despair > Hope > Island > Future. Also the lore is just extremely confusing as well if you go into the rabbit hole. If you want to see the full lore, just search up full lore for Danganrompa
The game may be better, but I do think the English dub had better references and acting. Neither version got particularly awesome until the trial in Chapter 2. For one, it had a really emotional conclusion, and of course it introduced me to my favorite student. I don't always like the idea of Disassociative Identity Disorder being an excuse to make someone into a murderer, but I really enjoy Genocider Syo despite that. Comedic villains are some of the most entertaining characters to watch. But yeah, I recommend at least starting with the game because the anime does contain massive if not simplified spoilers for the trials.
THH leon mondo hifumi who died and the main blacken being Celestia whos name is actually yasuhiro Sakura poisoning herself and the last one is Junko killing her sister the 16 student is hiding somewhere lol
It's hard to adapt something like this into an anime, many of the elements of the game like crime scene investigation and trial deductions and abridged and cut down for the sake of pacing but these were the bread and butter of the games.

@@Protoviz I wouldn’t call it bad since it’s basically the game done again as an animation
I swear your everywhere i go
@@Protoviz Uhm im sure the anime is based on the game because it show some similarities like punishment and stuff the only difference between both instead of YOU playing as the MC the MC playing as themself and Have more Movement and Some Indepth scenes you won't usually see in Game. (Except Hopes Peak Academy that is based on Danganronpa 2 The one with chiaki Spoiler alert (Why did i put spoiler alert? because its still somewhat spoiler) Chiaki Death is Different from the Game itself and as well as the others atleast in what i remember in few Clips of the Anime itself.)
@@Protoviz So yeah its like calling the game bad
My man finally posts a video about an anime that isnt (borderline) nsfw... This is rare!
18:49 GOD DAME IT YASUHIRO!
bro you help me find so many good anime to binge thank you man
"Leaving Taka mortified"
**calmly continues to the next chapter**
What.
Deadass last anime I expected
Can't wait for part two goodbye despair
Just because of this recap I got pulled into the world of Danganronpa.. Just finished the entire anime (maybe the game or light novel next) and holy cow this stuff gets me engaged like no other anime. Was the first anime to make me cry too hahaha (nanami why)
wait... the danganronpa i watched was where a boy turned into a really op character where they had a normal school and he alone with that girl killed all the other students... then a 2nd season or something where they were trapped in a building but escaped on a boat, they were called the remnants of despair or something? i dont understand danganronpa at all, can someone explain how the hell this is all put together?
@@Kai-Gizlow ahh i still dont understand a thing but thats ok i guess, confusing anime
@@Bram. all you need to know is that there is 2 canonical games (which this anime is based off the first game being Hope, while the second one was the one where they escaped the island, which ill call Island) and 3 seasons of the anime (before this video being Despair, this video being Hope, and after the video being Future).
It goes in this order, Despair > Hope > Island > Future. Also the lore is just extremely confusing as well if you go into the rabbit hole. If you want to see the full lore, just search up full lore for Danganrompa
@@Bram. game
You sound so calm while explaining danganronpa which is literally about killing XD
Ah....the good old days...
junko how many times have you been cancelled on twitter
@@弗雷德里克蕭邦 I lost count really..
I love Danganronpa and your content, so im glad u made this
The game may be better, but I do think the English dub had better references and acting.
Excellent recap! What music track did you use to accompany the video?
Pink blood moment
Half the reason I like this is the art style, it's really cool and nice looking.
Those god damn executions are the only reason why I watch this anime- and how this guy is able to solve anything so fast- like my g-
Ooh the first anime recap i can watch without being spoiled! I loved danganronpa before i even became a weeb
POV: you watch game grumps play Danganronpa and Danganronpa 2 and know who the blackens are.
THH leon mondo hifumi who died and the main blacken being Celestia whos name is actually yasuhiro Sakura poisoning herself and the last one is Junko killing her sister the 16 student is hiding somewhere lol
@@sketchandmycrew8509 dude who asked?
Not you that's for sure but I don't care about anybody asking because why not
@@sketchandmycrew8509 then zip it because if no one asked you then be quiet and don’t spoil the game for others
And yet nobody asked on your opinion about this
I was just talking about danganronpa and you upload this
just like normal school lol
finaly he did danganronpa😀

Wasn't it from protein shake of Sakura though instead of coffee?
Or maybe I am wrong
i wish i could see danganronpa for the first time again.
There is also a game version of this Anime which is similiar to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Ohhhh! Everything makes much more sense now, thanks.
Yeah, Danganronpa IS Inspired by Phoenix Wright
I can't believe it's not mondo!! Buy this new butter substitute at your local no where.
I’m starting to think among us was influenced by this anime HEAVILY Influenced

Games series/Novel(?)/Manga/Anime Series.
@@darksoulyt1386 true
I saw this in my recomended, read the title and said yep this is dangaronpa
The game is better than the anime
This is basically Ace Attorney but with more murder
Whod win
Sakura:Naruto
Or Sakura: Danganronpa
as somebody who didnt even know this danganronpa video existed, nagito is best boy, ibuki is best girl
Dangywompy
I JUST JUMPED IN JOY WHEN I JUST SAW THIS.
Hell yah, the one anime (and game) a lot of people have trouble pronouncing
Now we need the despair arc
This is the only anime I know you made a video about, danganronpa is best.
Among Us irl
Danganronpa in anime form
From the thumbnail I knew it was danganronpa instantly
I'm scared to watch this, heard it's crap compared to the game
@Tim B is it because they left things out or they literally changed how things went
It's hard to adapt something like this into an anime, many of the elements of the game like crime scene investigation and trial deductions and abridged and cut down for the sake of pacing but these were the bread and butter of the games.
Mukuru Ikusaba, The 16th student lying somewhere in this school.. The one they call the ultimate despair
Mukuro was the ultimate soldier, I’m pretty sure she was just called one of the despair sisters
