Tiz the Law was 3 wide into the 1st turn and 2 wide further on the back stretch and far turn, then took the lead in the home stretch easily. He won going away and running farther than most and was never on the rail to minimize the distance being run. As long as Tiz the Law stays healthy he will win the Triple COVID Crown being out of order this year. Winning 3 races in 5 weeks is always a tough test in previous Triple Crown years especially when not all horses compete in every race and can have some rested up for the Belmont if they skip the Preakness after losing in the Derby. The challenge this year is keeping the horses in top shape while not getting them injured over a longer period of time. There are challenges both ways, and Tiz the Law looks unbeatable right now. We will see when he leaves NY and has to run in a big field.. and on a not souped up track,, he raced inexperienced horses lately with no real speed,, he wont be worth the short price in the derby field

He the most consistent horse out the 3 year olds but I still think he will get beat in the derby . He good enough that he’ll hit the board . But I feel out that 20 horse field a dark horse will steal show
Buddy Singh He may get beat. All of the great ones have lost at some point. But, this is the best 3 year old right now. His final times have been smoking. Almost broke the track record here being geared down and he ran 146 and change in the Belmont. If he did it once, it’s a fluke, but twice? Nah, this is just a great horse.
We’ll see how many horses actually show up for the Derby this year. Some are speculating it won’t be a full field of 20 because everyone pretty much knows what they have by now unlike in early May when everyone is more than optimistic that they have a potential superstar... It’s already been announced that some who are on the leaderboard aren’t going to be there and others aren’t wanting to pay the late entree fee so who knows? &Tiz is hands down the best 3YO colt we have right now and the only time he lost was when he got boxed in and couldn’t get through. He still made a good effort in that race too. Franco hasn’t made that mistake since then either and even if Tiz has issues in the race, he’s already proven that he has the heart to overcome a terrible trip and win anyway. I’ve watched him drop back and then regain ground to destroy the field... As for the Triple Crown, yes a horse can win the Triple Crown this year despite the Belmont Stakes being shortened. If you’d do your research, you’d see that not every race in the history of the Triple Crown has been ran at the same exact distances they’re usually ran at. They’ve also been ran out of their usual order as well. They’ve been postponed too. Tiz could win the Derby and Preakness and it be considered a legitimate Triple Crown victory. They’ll just be an asterisk next to it.

However, due to corona turning everything upside down I’m grateful for the format we got and will think no less of Tiz the Law as he has carried his tremendous form since winter. He has been pulling away from any competition so I don’t feel a mile and a half would have changed the result.

So much for Uncle Chuck competing with Grade 1 champs. The athletes showed him there's different levels here. 2 races or so won't cut it, esp Baffert is now under a microscope. Justify was an anomaly, and enhanced.

2:00 on this track is still awesome. Given a few extra months of growth over normal Derby challengers, Tiz could definitely crack 2 mins at Churchill (trip depending of course)
So, if he wins the Derby and Preakness he’ll create a new category of an accomplishment. 4 major races for three year olds. Still don’t agree with the Belmont being the first leg and it being dramatically shortened but that’s not the horses fault. At a mile and a half the Belmont is the final test to determine if a three year old is worthy of being a triple crown winner within a 5 week span after campaigning in February and March. Again these circumstances aren’t the horse’s fault. He’s doing what’s being asked of him and he’s doing it well. Glad these jocks rode the right way. Tired of seeing SCal routes having a first quarter run sub 23 a half hovering around 46/47 and the front runners are still around at the end. Today’s race with a 3/4 at 111 and change is an honest pace. West coast jock and track management please take note.
marysueeasteregg Whirlaway ran the races in the right order completing his Triple Crown with the Test of Champions. Though it’s not Tiz The Laws fault I cannot count his Belmont win as a true Belmont win. 1 1/8 distance and the first leg is very different than being the last leg at 1 1/2 miles within 5 weeks of the Derby and Preakness So Whirlaways feat is much respectable. Plus as I write this Tiz The Law has yet to win the Derby. It’s not a lock. This is the race every horseman wants to win. They’ll be taking shots at Tiz today. His “Belmont” win and Travers win will mean nothing if he loses the Derby today.

I understand what you mean, agree in principle, but I will point out here, as I have elsewhere: Sir Barton won the Triple Crown under different conditions. His Preakness was 1 1/8 miles, his Belmont 1 3/8. Both of those races were run at a variety of distances prior to the 1930's. Sir Barton, though, won under even more scheduling pressure than the modern horses: he won the three TC races, plus the Withers in-between, in a space of 32 days!
Was at Belmont for the 2015 triple crown with AP.....Tiz the Law is the real deal and God willing another T.Crown....matchup to watch hopefully one day...Maximum security vs. Tiz in the breeder's classic in November. :))

Watch the other jockeys...all "riding" their horses to keep up just going into/midway on the last turn. TTL's jockey is just sitting there...and doesn't ask for any run until fully out of the turn/top of the stretch. And like the someone else said, the other two horses who ran beside TTL the entire race, faded to last and 2nd to last. He's a tough SOB. Love the name Tiz the Law, son of "Constitution". Derby always tough because of the 20 horse field... BUT... TTL's running style bodes well for staying out of trouble. IMO, he just needs a clean break.
Tiz The Law 🥇🥇🥇🥇 Racing fans, I feel it's time to genuinely appreciate this beautiful N.Y Bred colt by Constitution And feel fabulous for Barclay Tagg Yesterday's smashing victory was his 4th Grade 1 win & his 6th in 7 career starts, his only defeat was in the slop. This guy has been near perfect with a "Push Button" style of acceleration, all of his victories have been simply a thing of beauty Trouncing his opponents It's going to be an exciting Kentucky Derby next month. I cannot imagine another three-year old beating him on a dry surface Wow ! Gotta love his story Too bad there haven't been fans at the track to witness his unrelenting greatness

Yeah but herein lies a problem for her, the boys are not going to let her run on the front by herself and the distance is a lot longer than she is used to. Tiz has proven he can go the doctor stance and then some. Gamine, come at Tiz if you dare. Tiz will kick her ass in distance race. Now at a shorter distance like a mile maybe she has a chance but even then it depends on tactics.

Leo M he’s amazing for sure and you may well be right. Tom’s last race with the bad stumble out of the gate was a toss to me. I definitely think they are one , two. With Maximum Security third at this stage.

2:00 on this track is still awesome. Given a few extra months of growth over normal Derby challengers, Tiz could definitely crack 2 mins at Churchill (trip depending of course)

So, if he wins the Derby and Preakness he’ll create a new category of an accomplishment. 4 major races for three year olds. Still don’t agree with the Belmont being the first leg and it being dramatically shortened but that’s not the horses fault. At a mile and a half the Belmont is the final test to determine if a three year old is worthy of being a triple crown winner within a 5 week span after campaigning in February and March.
Again these circumstances aren’t the horse’s fault. He’s doing what’s being asked of him and he’s doing it well.
Glad these jocks rode the right way. Tired of seeing SCal routes having a first quarter run sub 23 a half hovering around 46/47 and the front runners are still around at the end. Today’s race with a 3/4 at 111 and change is an honest pace. West coast jock and track management please take note.

Though it’s not Tiz The Laws fault I cannot count his Belmont win as a true Belmont win. 1 1/8 distance and the first leg is very different than being the last leg at 1 1/2 miles within 5 weeks of the Derby and Preakness
So Whirlaways feat is much respectable. Plus as I write this Tiz The Law has yet to win the Derby.
It’s not a lock. This is the race every horseman wants to win. They’ll be taking shots at Tiz today. His “Belmont” win and Travers win will mean nothing if he loses the Derby today.
@@jeffmejia3556 If Tiz the Law had gone on to win the Triple Crown, I hope there would have been an asterisk by his name. I understand what you mean, agree in principle, but I will point out here, as I have elsewhere: Sir Barton won the Triple Crown under different conditions. His Preakness was 1 1/8 miles, his Belmont 1 3/8. Both of those races were run at a variety of distances prior to the 1930's. Sir Barton, though, won under even more scheduling pressure than the modern horses: he won the three TC races, plus the Withers in-between, in a space of 32 days!

We are in the presence of a great horse. He will certainly make it to the Kentucky Derby in good shape, with the first option.
Watch the other jockeys...all "riding" their horses to keep up just going into/midway on the last turn. TTL's jockey is just sitting there...and doesn't ask for any run until fully out of the turn/top of the stretch. And like the someone else said, the other two horses who ran beside TTL the entire race, faded to last and 2nd to last. He's a tough SOB. Love the name Tiz the Law, son of "Constitution". Derby always tough because of the 20 horse field... BUT... TTL's running style bodes well for staying out of trouble. IMO, he just needs a clean break.
Tiz the Law could have broken the Travers track record, he ran a 2:00 mile and a quarter being geared down, that was impressive!!!😮

Yeah but herein lies a problem for her, the boys are not going to let her run on the front by herself and the distance is a lot longer than she is used to. Tiz has proven he can go the doctor stance and then some. Gamine, come at Tiz if you dare. Tiz will kick her ass in distance race. Now at a shorter distance like a mile maybe she has a chance but even then it depends on tactics.
