I'm waiting for so long for this title... but guys, let's be honest. After 25 years we can't pretend to have a copy of the glorious HOMM3. It remains for sure the apex of the series (at least for the purists, even if someone would say that HOMM2 is the king). But we live in a different era, the game must be appealing for the new generations that are growing with games like LOL, very popular among young people so... They want to make money, not make a small group of nostalgic loyalists happy. Let's move on, the past is the past, we'll bring with us the good memories :)
@@ChristopherMaier. Then play HoMM3 until the day you die (probably soon old nostalgic man), and in the meantime new generations can also enjoy some new HoMM, especially since it feels that this time these new Russian devs actually managed to make a proper spiritual successor to HoMM 2/3 formula. I played all HoMMs including 1.
@@ChristopherMaier. "A literally STRAIGHT COPY would be better than this dogshit" The game is not out yet, so how can you say it's a dogshit? Take off your nostalgia glasses and give a chance to something new, because you might miss something good.
the art style looks like it was made for small children. I can't put my finger on it but even though it looks similar to the OG it's somehow very different in a bad way. My guess is that the OG devs were going for a more realistic art style but were limited by the tech of their day. Modern devs have gone the route of the cartoony way which cheapens the look greatly,
This looks decent, but I really hope they make the art style more realisttic... That was part of the charm of Heroes 3, that you felt that it was an actual world you could live in. This gives me more of a "Warcraft" type of vibe with how the units looks. They have over-the-top armors and such... Also the town screens, especially Necropolis are a bit too much with the huge skeleton on the building, I mean, no buildings look like that. I really hope they change some of this stuff, it's not too late for it!
I'm on the camp of letting the devs cook and hopefully, they earn enough money at launch for Ubisoft not to close down the project prematurely. I'm hoping for the devs to support the game post-launch for a long time so they have an opportunity to listen to the community and make updates based on popular recommendations from the fans.
@ it needs to be a 4k hi resolution game at launch. This is a Vaunted franchise and worth at least that level of graphical fidelity. It doesn’t have to be AAA level but it does have to be smooth and crisp.. this is 60% on the way to being a good game with descent graphics. It needs more work but I will buy it if it improves. I am a Heroes players since youth going back to Heroes of Might and Magic I. I love this series and it’s community. Best wishes
I've been enjoying the HoMM series since I was a kid. I used to like them all, up to HoMM5. But the fans of HoMM3 still only live in memories from 25 years ago. They don't accept anything but HoMM3. If they're fans of this series, they should accept the change in graphics with a smile. If they insist on HoMM3 forever, this series will be ruined perfectly. I want these developers to take advantage of the previous series and make good games. If you're a fan of this series, you should not just complain, but give them good opinions and support them.
I agree with yanakipang. Fan of HOMM 3 and 5. Good work and solid flow. Rest just went too far from already well established foundation of lore and art direction.
Looks really charming, graphics & animations are very polished and the map is very clean and easy to read its layout. Really impressed so far. I would also prefer a less 'clean' and more 'realistic' art style, still, i am more than happy with what i see here. I 'm very grateful that a team gives us after so many years a sequel to our beloved HoMM3 that seem true to its roots. I only wish people didn't act like prima donnas so much, quick to trash the whole game because of very minor and subjective complaints.
As always gamers take the first trailer they see and run with it. Not understanding that the game is still in development and won't be released until sometime between April and June
I played homm3 and m&m8 a lot, so this game will be perfect for me. I just hope they did something good to the underlying systems of the game, how you lvl up, how you build up your town ect. All needs to be more complex, because complex is good :D
Finally seems to me We will get a game every HoMM3 players waited for after H3. Not have to be perfect but the style and game mechanic seems to this is the game.
If it is possible, i would like to have a function as bringing food. When a hero goes out of castle, he needs to bring food for his army, the number of army will be reduced one the food is reduced. Then we have more tactics instead of tranditional strategy, more hardcore.
@@neutralggesports i dont catch your point. But like you have a troop, you also need to calculate the logistic to supply food for the troop, like the real fight. this is my ideal for that.
Looks great! The music hits the spot of nostalgia. And I'm confident that Blood from undead will not be in the final game so I personally don't care right now :)
On the one hand Im excited for a new Heroes game. One the other hand its Ubisoft, the only reason their considering this is cause there normal cash cows are sick and dying, I fully expect them to mess this up somehow. Please let me be wrong
I love the new artstyle, I think it's a lot better than HoMM 5-6, which I already enjoyed. If they capture the feeling of HoMM 2-3, the modernity of 5 and some form of universal reward for playing campaign like in 6, it'd be a perfect game in my opinion.
I don't like stylized art. It looks like a cartoon. I would like a different art style. It's more loyal to Heroes 3 but at today's level. The creatures could have had better designs, especially from Middle Earth. Other than that, I liked the map you know opening with flames
Please, dear heroes developers, add commanders or make heroes full-fledged combat units, I always liked this feature and make alternative grades of creatures like in the tribes of the east. Make creatures experience or the opportunity to get medals for them after a certain amount of experience that enhance their characteristics and add abilities to them, and make sure to make sets of artifacts. Also take a closer look at the mechanics of the classes of the heroes, you can do as in heroes IV or better with some additional conditions, for example, you can generally make the magic of the spirit of light of the elements and darkness or more diverse. You can make magic depend on the class and make certain initiation quests, so far I don't know how to do it all, but I think that you can do it through seer quests or increase inside the castle and add generated quests on the map. PS: add a karate druid;)
looks nice though i would prefer more graphical clarity, especially for the long run. overally it looks quite dark and obscure which is maybe ok but i dont know, im used to homm3 where everything is bright and clear
Transforming towns into yours was a genius feature, hopefully they wont let it out of this game as well. More heroes in combat just like in HOMM4. Itemization just like in H4 was epic scaled up to relic category level. That river isnt looking good... pixel combat along with those mountains and trees. In 2025 you can do this better. You can preserve the original feeling by keeping the old looking, this is not mean keep them in the same pixel count as well :D In heroes 4 youve got better mountain textures and it was in 2d model just like this. The mines should be highlighted even more, they are so smooth vanishing in the entire content. When its polished and ready it will be on my whish list already. Just one more thing as an innovation: how about real day/night cycle time change? You can also set things regarding on the day change into night. Looks good! 👍
The art style is great. Love the shell-shaded style. But I have reservations about the map design. I see no terrain elevation and no terrain decoration. Coming from Songs of Conquest, that is kind of jarring. They should focus on prettying up the map.
I personally didn't like the combat animations, (for a game that's launching in 2025), like seriously, all the blood in combat is exactly the same sprite for every unit getting hit, and undead having red blood feels weird as well. I know this is super early footage, but if it's something they're displaying, make it look good at least.
What's with the obsession of game devs to put cloud shadows in every fucking game? Can we at least lessen the density of the effect? It's like the world of the game is inside a cave or something.. let there be a little light huh? Make the game look brighter. And im not talking about the color pallet - the lighting as always is shit and the dense overcast cloud effects make it even darker. Or leave it as is and make it rain all the time so it makes sense, idk. Fucking hell
@@viks4an For what it's worth, Ubisoft for all its faults at least have a lot of accessibility and customization options in their games. Hopefully this one will have too, and allow you to change these stuff you're talking about.
Cloud shadows are an awesome feature in games. You should see it in World of tanks, MS flight sim, etc. The game could just use a bit higher brightness that's all.
you mean the amount of units in each stack ? Hidden just like the entirety of the UI for the entire video (with one exception for the hero casting a spell once).
There for to be coming a mod with Paul A. Romeros oroginal OST xoming to this haha. Its just so enchanting and taken from somewhere sacred, i domt know how he pulled that off with robb king.
Hm. I like burning effect on map, and i definitely approve how battlearena looks. It cartoonish of course, but hey, i assume it how things are done now. I am more concerned about battle balance of units and hero abilities
The game looks fine, nice classic look with enough of a modern aesthetic, the gameplay though I can't make sense of. NPCs just fall over and die if you touch them? Wut?
How would there be a lack of separate arrows when the hero moves, as in heroes 3. This is necessary to maintain the competitive spirit, because you need to count the moves.
Looks what HoMM4 should have been made. Very promising. Don't be mistaken, I liked HoMM4, very liked HoMM5, 6 and 7 too. But my heart beats for HoMM2-3.
I feel like this is a mix between HOMM3 and HOMM5. the only issue i have is that these new graphics seem a bit too fantasy and some things in game may clash a lot with each other., maybe they missed the point with some of the designs from both HOMM3 and HOMM5. So to get things a little bit more understandable, the "might" aspect should feel somewhat like medieval realistic gameplay, while the "magic" aspect somewhat made of fantasy gameplay. This new game design seems a bit like a mobile game or a pure fantasy like game. For me, the reason why I loved HOMM5 was because the world wasn't entirely magical nor was entirely fantasy. I think the biggest part was the 3d design brought in a new perspective. (like the way the kingdoms are and how you can upgrade them, the 3d aspect really enhanced the way a kingdom looks and feels.) and that's the part of the reason why i love the game. Other reasons were close ups when troops attacked, and how the 3d wasn't so advanced that it clashed or contrasted to much with the rest of the graphics or designs in the game that weren't 3d. I think that while going halfway 2d and 3d with this new game is amazing, but it may end up clashing or contrasting making the game seem very poor or way too enhanced if it is not done right. Also as far as combat, i appreciate the chess board battle style a bit more than the hexagons. but that's more of a personal preference than anything else. Maybe they can put it in as an option in the game to decide to either have a hexagon gameplay or chess style gameplay. Edit: after looking at the art style a bit more, I'm starting to get used to it, it seems like my initial reaction was a bit hard.
Mountain pics are cloned, identical, trees are only 2 types, cloned, this looks primitive. I didn't get it from the start, now i understand why i have this feeling.
Looks good, but I find it a bit soulless? I think what made HOMM3 and older games so great was the best graphics available: our imagination. Paired with the music and those mysterious sounds, it created an immersive experience powered by our minds. I love the old sounds, like the Resurrection spell-a raw sound that feels like it's tearing through the fabric of time.
Soulless because of the comics graphics which doesn't show any substantial lighting. In Heroes 3 (and even 2) it looked like all objects were lit by the afternoon sun. Like they took the drawings\images and made them lit by the natural sunlight. Here it's like everything is under a plastic box with indirect weak light
@@mike_miller Yeah, I think you're right. It's just too cartoonish and doesn't feel real. In Heroes 3, the necropolis characters, for instance, looked genuinely terrifying. They aimed to make the characters and buildings appear as realistic (something that could exist in our world) as possible, and when they look realistic, your imagination naturally begins to build on them. I still look at the vampires "Estate" and imagine how scary that house must be, or imagine hiking in the mountains behind the Ramparts where the dragons dwell, or sitting in the towers of Tower, gazing down the snowy mountains.
@@Brodsmoler2 Yes exactly. They managed to find that magical balance between realism and fantasy. That's the dedicated work of artists who probably have exceptional education in arts. Like... dragon mountains in Rampart are looking like a "ported photograph" and yet it blends perfectly with drawn elements. We both understand what we're talking about. Here we just have a unified simplified cartoonish interpretation which has no vibes, no moods. Unfortunately. I hope maybe one day they will fix it or we shall see a proper interpretation of that forgotten world
I wonder how long it takes to turn the Heroes Franchise into a Total War Warhammer type of animations in battles... All these 4080's and high end AMD's will be chilling with the cartoon gfx... If at least the ingame A.I. would be less terrible to make up for the lack of GFX inovations... Guess studios are afraid to change much about their games, just like some phone companies just increase the size of their phones with little to no inovations...
It's probably not going to work out. A few people will buy it, but it won't be played as much as HoMM3. You can't enter mines and leave troops there. Also, counting steps to interact with something is no longer useful because you can do it from any side with the same number of moves. HoMM3 still holds a special place in my heart, and ranked games will still be played for the next 10 years. The sound of magic is bad; it doesn't have that BOOM.
The 1st thing that ppl will do with this game is modding it with Romeros music genius.

Могли бы хоть в черный перекрасить, что бы выглядело как пыль или прах. Как в пятерке - из живых вылетает кровь при ударе, из нежити черный прах, а из механизмов вроде облака пыли.

Finally we get a Heroes game we all want. So excited for this!
Hey Ubisoft if you can't handle this, don't ruin my good memories from heroes series
I've been waiting for this for a long time
I'm waiting for so long for this title... but guys, let's be honest.
We don't want a copy, we just don't want something WORSE. A literally STRAIGHT COPY would be better than this dogshit.
@@ChristopherMaier.just admit it, no matter how new heroes would look, nothing would satisfy you.
V is the best.
the art style looks like it was made for small children. I can't put my finger on it but even though it looks similar to the OG it's somehow very different in a bad way. My guess is that the OG devs were going for a more realistic art style but were limited by the tech of their day. Modern devs have gone the route of the cartoony way which cheapens the look greatly,
Exactly what I thought. The hero horse looks like a pony for babies xDD
For me it reminds me more of HII with how colorful it is, which I like.
Graph is really good. Animation is great. Music perfectly fit from classic homm. Cant wait. Hope will be map creator/editor and support for mods.
Can't wait!
The graphics need to be more crisp and clean, but its close. good start.
Best wishes
I can't wait to dive into it again. Now I wish someone would trust similarly talented guys to make a modern version of Fallout 1-2.
If you're a fan of this series, you should not just complain, but give them good opinions and support them.
maybe they not fan of homm , their are fan of homm 3 ? like me, homm3 , and homm5.
I agree with yanakipang. Fan of HOMM 3 and 5. Good work and solid flow. Rest just went too far from already well established foundation of lore and art direction.
They accept HoMM4 too, but yes, other games are trash, mostly they are ok for those who never played previous games
I bought homm4 cd on release back in a day. It was biggest disappointment.
We'll accept something BETTER than HoMM3 - It's taken 25 years and they haven't made anything even remotely close. FUCK EM!
You mean something like upkeep from RTS games?
@@neutralggesports i dont catch your point. But like you have a troop, you also need to calculate the logistic to supply food for the troop, like the real fight. this is my ideal for that.
Looks crazy good. At last Ubisoft acknowledges what fans have asked for for 20 years, if not more.
blood came out of skeleton???
Bone marrow. Seems there was still some juice.
Even worse: from a ghost.
@@AVM26 Red colored ectoplasm...?
HomM 4 whe HERO is inside the battle was the best idea they had. But it didn't catch up for further games.
Looks great! The music hits the spot of nostalgia. And I'm confident that Blood from undead will not be in the final game so I personally don't care right now :)
Seems interesting, but I really dislike the map fog... the color brightness is really off-putting. Maybe a bit more darker would fix it.
Join the official Unfrozen Discord so you can tell them that.
Your wishes looks like Disciples😅
looks nice though i would prefer more graphical clarity, especially for the long run. overally it looks quite dark and obscure which is maybe ok but i dont know, im used to homm3 where everything is bright and clear
You can preserve the original feeling by keeping the old looking, this is not mean keep them in the same pixel count as well :D
In heroes 4 youve got better mountain textures and it was in 2d model just like this.
The mines should be highlighted even more, they are so smooth vanishing in the entire content.
When its polished and ready it will be on my whish list already.
Just one more thing as an innovation: how about real day/night cycle time change? You can also set things regarding on the day change into night.
Looks good! 👍
about fucking time, I have spent hundreds of hours on 3,5, and 7
looks like they learned their lesson
The parchment paper fog of war kind of ruins contrast.
It should be something dark.
25 years after its release im still playing HOMM3, i wont remember this in a week
The art style is great. Love the shell-shaded style.
But I have reservations about the map design. I see no terrain elevation and no terrain decoration. Coming from Songs of Conquest, that is kind of jarring. They should focus on prettying up the map.
Dont know if its max zoom out but i found it really hard to see whats things in the map are properly
I don't like the graphics. HOMM3 managed to be readable without being too cartoony.
Maybe it's just placeholders for now?
The old Heroes FiVe looked better
love it for the most part!.... though im still a fan of a heroes 4 style of combat hehehe
Me too. Love them heroes getting their hands dirty.
I personally didn't like the combat animations, (for a game that's launching in 2025), like seriously, all the blood in combat is exactly the same sprite for every unit getting hit, and undead having red blood feels weird as well. I know this is super early footage, but if it's something they're displaying, make it look good at least.
I have mixed feelings about the visuals. What do you guys and gals think?
I actually like it.
Shit devs will develop shit
I like the smoke effect
Where are the unit stacks? 9:50
you mean the amount of units in each stack ?
Hidden just like the entirety of the UI for the entire video (with one exception for the hero casting a spell once).
There for to be coming a mod with Paul A. Romeros oroginal OST xoming to this haha. Its just so enchanting and taken from somewhere sacred, i domt know how he pulled that off with robb king.
Hm. I like burning effect on map, and i definitely approve how battlearena looks. It cartoonish of course, but hey, i assume it how things are done now. I am more concerned about battle balance of units and hero abilities
Enegry Explosion
hope that spelling gets fixed
I love it!
The game looks fine, nice classic look with enough of a modern aesthetic, the gameplay though I can't make sense of. NPCs just fall over and die if you touch them? Wut?
:D Thats just an alpha version to show the map
finally the hexagonals are back ... rejoice !!!
I want this game on PS5. This gender is missing on consoles too bad
@@paradoxslave1012 I agree coming off the old Heroes games this feel a bit too stylized, but I kinda grew into it too
Mountain pics are cloned, identical, trees are only 2 types, cloned, this looks primitive.
I hope maybe one day they will fix it or we shall see a proper interpretation of that forgotten world
What are the technical requirements?
We don't know yet.
Seems good. I'm very interested in this, but since it's from Ubisoft, better take everything with a grain of salt and one step behind.
Loved these games as a kid, but i dont have a pc for gaming anymore. Will it be playable on steamdeck???
I wonder how long it takes to turn the Heroes Franchise into a Total War Warhammer type of animations in battles... All these 4080's and high end AMD's will be chilling with the cartoon gfx... If at least the ingame A.I. would be less terrible to make up for the lack of GFX inovations... Guess studios are afraid to change much about their games, just like some phone companies just increase the size of their phones with little to no inovations...
Please answer me. Where did you get this footage? Did you play it? How??
@@slickperspective I haven't gotten to play the game yet, but I got the footage from Ubisoft as a press contact.
@@neutralggesportsThanks for the clarification!
The sound of magic is bad; it doesn't have that BOOM.
what a cash grab of a game... unbelievable they have so few factions this late in the series
This game isn't scheduled for release for another 6+ months.
Thats all i ever wanted, a 2D heroes!
Those aren't tears. The air is itchy that's all.
