This was beautiful. This is what countries should be doing a lot more of. Cultural exchange. I heard the saying that Art transcends boundaries, and I felt it after watching this. The blending of music and culture was a treat to listen to and watch as well. The world should be enriched by doing a lot more of this. Appreciate the attempt and for executing it so beautifully.
+Guru Prasad Thanks so very much Guru Prasad. Sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. Great that people like you take time out to appreciate this effort!
brilliant :D as an avid lover of both indian classical and chinese styles of music, while being classically trained in western classical music, i found this simply phenomenal.
Hi Swordsonian, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! Really appreciate it. Such a booster for all of us. I am trained in Indian classical, but living in HK, do imbibe the opera music on the streets; I have near zero knowledge of western classical or the philharmonic orchestra, but went with a perceived feel of how it may sound. My habit of mentally noting the notes, which apply to all forms of music, was where this idea was seeded.
+Jairam Parameswaran Amazing! I actually study both western classical and indian classical music, and it never ceases to wow me as to just how similar they are. I think all styles of music have the same fundamental building blocks. But I must say, Indian and Chinese are my two absolute FAVORITE styles of traditional music next to western, and Ive seen so many times chinese + western and indian + western. Seeing Indian + Chinese was such a joy for me, I listened to the song for almost an hour on repeat this morning :)
+Jairam Parameswaran On another note, I actually enjoy composing music as well! My main themes include bringing different styles from around the world and fitting their instrumental sounds with a western orchestra. I enjoyed watching a similar approach in this song.
+Swordsonian Lovely - why don't you also post your work? Would love to hear!! So nice to hear from you, with the relevant understanding and perspective!
