World of Tanks - M6 Tier 6 Heavy Tank - We Meet At Last

- I can't believe I waited so long to play the M6. This is one of the most consistently fun tanks I've ever owned. Very tough from the front, a great 90mm gun and one of the fastest accelerating heavies you'll play, the M6 is a beast of a mid-tier heavy.

I miss Jingle's tank reviews. Wow has this game changed since when this was published.
Wow 2021 this game has change and the legendary jingles is still in it. Thanks for all these laughs and fun moments these past years
It's exactly that. The M48A1, Centurion Mark 7 and T-62A are the most modern machines in the game.
The M6 has two gunners because in real life, it had a 37mm gun mounted parallel to the main gun
That was only true in the T1. By the time it was upgraded to the M6 the combination of 76mm and 37mm guns were ditched for a single 90mm. Having two guns in a single turret had proved to be a terrible design idea for multiple reasons and the 37mm was already obsolete by that point anyway.
I have so many good memories of the M6 with the really awesome 90mm gun. Such an underrated tank!
Awesome video, been watching your videos for a couple of days, and I must say I really enjoy them, especially your guides. Great work, keep it up :)
I notice Jingles and Quickybaby generally account for 1/3-2/4ths the total kills per game and around 90% when they play together.
"17 hundred subscribers, can't be wrong."
What about 200,000+ subscribers? :D Congrats, Jingles
Hey jingles love your vids they've helped me and a friend who just started playing WoT keep up the good vids
The m6 in the right hands is beast
Really true. People really underestimate the M6 and T1 Heavy, and it's because they don't know how to use it, or fight people who don't know how to use it. I love them both because I know how to play them. The only thing that is bad about these tanks is their slow traverse speed, because it lets mediums kill you easily.
Yeah, still it gets fucked up by an s35 ca 7/10 matches
necromorphassasin
I also don't like that much that the tank is MASSIVE! And does not have the best armor, but good HP. But still, it is a beast, I got all the parts and made a very awesome replay, 5 kills and a lot of ricochees (for enemy's) but lost because of my team. I like the M6 and I am happy to make 30k xp more to get T29, another great heavy, probally the best tier 7. (Here you have a replay of mine with M6 wotreplays.com/site/1568182 )
The Taco Wizard unless me or one of my kv-2 brethren gets a shot at its side first
Also, i see a lot of t1/m6 drivers (even some of those with 50k+ gamed played) ignoring kv-2's with the 152 and letting the kv-2 get their side...
Not that i'm complaining, i just wonder why
This brings back fond memories.
Ten years later, and it brings back memories.
ive been watching a few old Jingles WOT vids, its really good nostalgia trip watching these 'oldies'
very nice video, thx Jingles, I appreciate that
I can just imagine jingles doing this in the middle of the review.
"Aw shit, iv been looking at the t1 heavy! "
the grind went so much easier when i unlocked the 85mm. sat there for a good 7 hours straight and got the 122mm. here's to you getting yours quickly! :D
I can tell you that it really does. And when you slap in the vents as well the M6 really becomes something worthwhile. I've also found that some time's as the top tank having coated optics can be a life saver when out in the open or city fighting.
My first heavy was the B1, still using it, I get alot of laughs when my friend Derpster and I play some games in our little "B1 Brigade"
I've been having some awesome games in my mostly stock M103. I think it's a really good tank.
It's not a good tank, jingles.
great review
one of your best
Bandicam with a Logitech G35 headset. Getting a Rode Podcaster mic next month, though.
That suits me fine. WG hand out buffs and nerfs according to global win rates, and as long as everyone keeps playing the M6 badly, my little tank will never get nerfed and I can keep enjoying it. ;)
He killed a t150 with an m6 in that first replay, good job jingles cause seriously if that t150 had the best gun then you wouldn't stand a chance, i speak from experience.
Awesome video
Thank you for uploading this. I know how to use the M6 now
Jingles, that first game, the reason that the enemy team kept shooting your tracks was because the M6 has a enormous weak spot there in between the side armor and the tracks.
well done to that little Pz
28:03 "Took a big hit there from somebody"
The shell bounced off the turret :P
Thank you for giving the M6 the praise it deserves. I trust it more then any other tank I have.
M6....This tank is a friggen beast. solid weapon, solid engine. I remember hating this tank at stock but that all changed with the 90mm
I have the t1 heavy and it's an amazing beast of a tank. Can't wait to get my hands on this thing.
Youre my go-to man for guides on potentially tricky tanks. Like you I was pleasantly surprised. Probably the most intuitive heavy, I've ever had. Rarely lose cred. Tends to only happen in the presence of weak(see young player)teams, inexperienced in mutual support. Farm quite rapidly most times, and this hull actually can swing quite rapidly, w momentum.
Remember this , for a KV-1S driver to derp you with that 122mm gun , he had to grind a minimum 30.000 xp with tier 5 guns on a tier 6 tank .
Finally... found someone who loves their T1 Heavy too! I remember those days I actually enjoy playing it like a MT until my crew reach 2nd skill. Unfortunately, now they're all in T29.
first heavy i got was the IS and i still love that thing, 1 of my most memorable games was in that monster in a very tier 9 match before MM rebalance and gold rounds where available for credits and i can still do quite well in it
You did your job jingles
Oh and this shows the massive importance of taking the hill first on encounter on Himmelsdorf. It makes it so easy to flank the rest of the enemies after you sweep over the hill, as capping take so damn long. Please do this every time, everyone. It'll help.
I was the only one alive, driving this M6. There were 4 left on the enemy team. I angled my armor on top of a steep hill. I just bounced and bounced every shot they grew at me. They were mainly tier 5 and 6s, they either tracked me or just bounced. I managed to kill three, but eventually they kept getting through my armor every other shot and I eventually died. It's not too bad.
I just knew that if I'd said "bonnet" 35% of the viewers would be asking me where the hat was.... :p
That KV-1S at 25:00 was really funny!
Gets his tracks blown off on an open field; uses repair kit; moves 3 feet; stops driving and just stands there; gets killed.
*facepalm*
Well, that's 3.000 credits down the drain ... at least his reflexes on that "4" key were pretty good.
That's the right strategy. If you get into a duel with another tank, you're doomed with the M3 Lee.
Amazing run through Jingles, personally I think most US Med's/Heavy's tend to be 'flexible' tanks, and you can have some good fun in them ;D
yep
I love my M6, and that is mostly due to the help with strategy that jingles talked about in this video
I remember in a recent game a teammate asking which gun he should get for the KV-1S when they unlocked it. I suggested the 122mm, having it on my KV-1s and loving it, while more people suggested the 80mm because it fires faster. The thing is that if you play the tank right, faster reload means almost nothing if you make use of cover. That's where the 122 shines. If you control the fight and you each get the same number of shots into each other, the 122mm can win every time. It's derptastic! lol
I have the same fun on a stock engine with my VK3601. I've top every module except engine. Yet my vk does 25-30 in a straight line and 35 downhill, with reasonable maneuverability. Absolutely love it
Pretty much, yes. The only thing I liked about it was sitting at a corner of a building, angled so that just the gun & barbette were visible to the enemy. The Lee's alright, so long as you treat it as just a derpy, half-assed TD with no armor.
Yes, close to fully correct there mate.
yes your very right. I enjoyed my M6 when I was grinding up for my T29 and was wise enough to get the 90MM on it...
I like how you caress the tank's lower hull at 2:20. Lol
Good vid, looking forward to the T6 as a natural upgrade from the T1 before I get my T29...
I love his old reviews and I have not even ever played WoT.
Jingles I totally can relate to you with the wallet warrior -thing. I was climbing the USSR heavy tree at KV-1S and T-150 when i bought T34. Oh boy, I sucked at it at first until I learned to fear them heavy cannons at higher tiers. Occasionally I still suck at it but now i'm at around 1800 games and I'm starting to get the feel of protecting myself :)
Benny Hill! I notice that Jingles said, "I have you, now" which is a Darth Vader quote.
It happens also that the actor who filled the Darth Vader suit had a bit part in the first Benny hill episode in 1970 IIRC.
Thank you Capt Fred "Jingles" Scuttle.
These old garage reviews.. very reminiscing
the frontal armor of this thing is so good.I bounced a shot from a T29(with 105 mm) but what surprised me even more is that i received like 200 from a KV-2 superderpy 152 mm and bounced a SU-152 shot lol
I admit that I had a bad case of I'm indestructable-itis. The Churchil 1 was my first heavy and after driving the Matilda, bouncing shots from most of tier 4 and anything tier 3 and lower, I thought it would be the same in the Churchil 1 when I saw 170-some frontal armor. And boy did I get an education!!
I just got the T1 and really looking forward to the M6
I'm retired. Ex-Navy.
49:42 1700 subscribers you say The Mighty Jingles? Oh my, how the times have changed and definitely for the better.
Phillip Sexton Indeed Philip, indeed
Jingles: “1700 subscribers canny be wrong.”
Me, watching in May of 2022: “Ackshually, Jingles, you have 651K subscribers.”
It’s been a good ride old friend. Now I’m off to the salt mines!
It's a gift tank, pretty sure it was one of the ones given to the beta testers.
When I bought my Matilda I thought I was indestructible and I would run out think I would never die.. I improved a lot after that
Same here with the at 2 then I got to the at 8 and sucked for the first 50 games
What??? An english speaking person who knows how to pronounce "Löwe"!! I am most impressed :)!
it was a tank given to people that got the pre-order packages when WoT launched, the other were A-32 and the M6 something something something heavy tank
I love this tank with the 90mm
The 960 HP engine for the T1 heavy, and M6 is a MUST GET. it greatly increases the acceleration in my opinion, and you turn faster, its a MUST get with T1 heavy, before you go any further.
man im spanish speaker.good video i like ur opinion about the m6 is my fav tank too
My first heavy was the Tiger back in Beta, and yeah, I did kinda suck. Took me a while to find that sweet spot between suicide rushing and camping in the back of the base.
Good thing I was done sucking once the game was officially released.
Never seen anything like that, but must admit I've not looked for it. I can see where it would be useful to know, though.
Support your heavies. Flank whatever targets are engaging them.
My first heavy tank was the b1 love the tank but did not know how to play it get bounces some times ,now i am rolling with the big boys in my kv1s :)
Went ahead and got the 88mm boy am I having a blast with that gun :)
hey, thnx for throwin some tips on the m6 in this vid man, make the grind to the t29 so much easier. thnx.
I'm doing it with the 85mm . And i'm pulling my hair out . I have Played the Kv-1 more since i've bought the Kv-1S than when i hadn't . That speaks volumes on how hard it is to get that dreaded 122mm destroyer of tier 4 and 5 tanks . BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON !!!
I'm grinding for the M6 now. I love my T1 and am looking forward to the M6 and the T29.
Yeah I can remember my old Churchill 3 tank when I first got it.
The game keeps changing.. the m6 use to have to fight rampaging kv3's.
It always did okay with a good driver. Now the kv3 threat has been up-tier'd it's no longer completely outclassed. As well as matchmaker being tightened to help it out.
Ah, the M6. The bane of my poor KV-1S. That 90mm is a machine gun compared to the 122mm troll cannon.
I used it like a Tank Destroyer. Because it is basically a faster TD and has a bigger gun than a lot of the TDs around that tier.
Some, if not a lot, of people who don't like this tank try to play it as a brawling Heavy. That's definitely how you should not play this tank. Some of those T6 Heavies like the ARL will penetrate the front if the M6 goes too close.
As someone who played the T1 Heavy for a long time, I got used to this tank pretty quickly. I do like this tank. When it works, it really works. Angling can be a pain to get used too, but hard cover to protect the sides can help with this tremendously.
There is one thing I'd like to point out that I think you didn't point out in this video. The reverse speed is horrible. It caps at 10 kph. That is why it is even more important to make sure the M6 doesn't get ambushed. It can be difficult to get away from a wolf pack with the M6.
To be fair though, I transferred my T1 Heavy crew to my M6 who were already 100% and finished their first perk. Your mileage may vary. It is definitely not recommended for a brawler that wants to get into the action.
I do like this tank a lot. It feels like a part of this tank is second nature for me now. It's probably because I played the T1 Heavy for so long. I didn't want to move up to Tier 6 until I got at least Top Gun in that tank. I say that definitely helped improved my skills in Heavies.
Of course, I think the aiming patch has been released after this video. People can aim for weak spots easier now, so be sure to protect that upper glacis!
My KV-2 enjoys hunting M6 tanks
Woden Grow the fuck up.
thats weird, vice versa for me
Ikr when I'm in a tier v tank I despise Kv1, Kv2 and KV1S
Judging by your original comment I'd say you need to grow up as well.
kv-2's are easy to kill with a m6.a m6 is most likely to win facing toward the enemy with a m6
wohhh!! at last i got my m6's big gun the 90mm... well.. its not kind of big. but with my skill its totally satisfying gun with the speed of the tank... working hard to have this...
Yeah I hear people complain about the M6 allllll the time, but it was a favorite of mine too. That gun is great at tier 6, and the armor at least has a chance of bouncing some shots. Too bad it's so huge, but it makes money for sure.
Hey Jingles amazing vid. I had a question, kinda off topic. Do you know wtf a panzer V/IV is i saw one in a match never seen it before. Thx
I love this M6 too, with the M3 gun. To some degrees, it's my money maker. low repair bill, reasonably good MM which gives me chances to unload lots of ammunition on targets. Well, I personally think M6 has paper thin armor, I always play peak-a-boo to avoid hits, use good mobility to move around enemy and often act as a sniper. I'm scared to death if left alone guarding a flank :-ss.
It's unlikely. The reason a very early model of the T-62 was used is because later models used reactive armor and that would probably be a nightmare to code.
The Leopard 1 used RHA(rolled homogeneous armor), which is pretty much just a certain formulation of steel that was widely used in WW2. It wasn't until the Leopard 2 that composite and reactive armors came into play in Eurozone tanks.
personally I enjoyed the T1 Heavy and M6 a LOT. I had a KV1 (For the KV2 line), and I can say, the T1-M6 heavy tanks are amazing if you know how to exploit their speediness . I found out I could play the M6 like a medium heavy tank, or a an ambusher since it's amazing acceleration let me get behind enemy positions in most maps before the fight even started. Personally, it's just knowing how to play. The M6 wasn't made for standard heavy tank tactics because of it's paper armor, it's all about knowing how to use that deadly fast firing top gun combined with amazing acceleration for best results
When you get the M6 the fun starts
The T1 and M6 really are fun machines. Loved my T1 and my M6 is turning out to be okay too. I find though, that M6s do NOT like Hummels. I own both and Hummels love to eat exposed M6s for breakfast. Ive been at both ends, and the Hummel comes out on top every time.
The m6 gets the same gun as the m36 Jackson, the t25 at and hellcat. And it's a heavy tank in tier 6. That is so op.
The M6 has been my most favorite tank to date. I am up to the T32 and Maus so that is my previous experience.
But it scared meeeeeeee!
I never drove a T1, but I will in order to get most of the upgrades for the m6. I'm testing the m6 right now, and the M6's 90mm gun does much more pen than a max of 200!
My brother is #1 in this tank on Xbox one 100% damage standing, he's gotten over 4k damage a few games and 2k - 4k damage many of games, it's a great tank in the right hands.
it has great corner peaking ability though, exposing only the gun around a left turn
While it effectively starts out as a slower T1 HT, it is able to equip a marginally upgraded 76mm gun, the M1A2, and later the 90mm M3. Upgrading the engine will bring it on par with an upgraded T1's speed. The M6 does have the best horsepower-to-weight ratio of any heavy tank in its tier, and you can use the quick acceleration to quickly retreat from a risky firefight with more powerful tanks. It is a good rammer, since many vehicles even at Tier VIII are lighter. However, do not expect KV-5 ramming power, especially at higher levels or against at-tier heavy tanks.
Like the T1, the M6 has two gunners, this allows you to take more gunner-related skills and perks if you decide to keep the tank and train your crew up. Many strategies that work with the T1 Heavy Tank carry over to the M6.
The armor has not really improved (aside from the 'belly') from the T1 Heavy, and the turret and upper glacis simply will not hold against same tier and higher guns. As such, the M6 really shouldn't be played aggressively like the T1 Heavy could when top tier and it better suited to hull-down sniping and 2nd line support fire with the excellent 90mm gun. You can still lead pushes when top tier due to your HP pool and (for a heavy) mobility, but don't except to bounce much incoming fire from other tier 6s.
its all about the transition into modernity, meaning post ww1 (ft17) to cold war MBTs, though even the most modern tank, the t62, is really the earliest form of that particular type of tank (lacking autoloader).
Over the next few days, not very often at all. Mists of Pandaria is out, and I'm all World of Warcrafted-up.
M6 was great, my 2nd game I even got 1st class mastery badge. Only sold it cause I needed money and space when I was moving up to tier 7 tanks and I did not want to sell the KV-1S, Cromwell and T-34-85.
This thing entered my "arty dont shoot at" list after the tracks of one bastard ate 6 consecutive 15cm, 950 dmg each, shells from my hummel.
Those tracks can absorb a lot of damage...
