- fished mag bay (Bahai Magdalena) for 3 days straight in 4 different sections for snapper, snook, grouper, trevally, corvina, spotted bay bass an other fish. We had a hard time connecting with fish after learning that the entire area is heavily gill netted. We were told by some local gill netters to leave so we left after that.

ya man those side channels are all gillnetted to shit, gotta fish the main channel but its hard on paddleboard, fished in there for 3 days and caught a few small corbina, last day a gillnetter showed up and dredged out all kind of baby fish, juvenile snook, corvina, flounder, pargo, and grouper, loaded them all in a 5gal bucket and headed out

Better be careful legally fishing in a Mexicans spot.Some of those locals aren't so friendly like so many think.

Crazy that one fish broke the hook off.
That last fish was a hefty one.

how long did it take you to drive to Mag Bay? I am assuming you left from San Diego. Did you camp or Air BnB?
Mag bay is a multi day drive. I’m doing it over a while as I’m slowly driving down. Camped along the mangroves but wouldn’t Recommend the area for inshore estuary fishing
yep Mag bay not the greatest fishery some spots still hold some fish but it has been destroyed by gill netters
I’m sure there are still great spots if you go with a local guide. Lots of water to cover down there
