Thank you for documenting this. I’m currently installing the same setup on my fj cruiser. Blue dobbinsins 730lb springs, SPC UCAs and bilstein 5100s. I’m replacing everything. It was nice to see it all assembled.👊🏾
Hi, friend! I'm from Russia, thank you very much for the video. Everything is very clear. I've been looking for a long time how to do this! Good luck to you in your new projects!
You are a baad man, i I mean that in a good way. I have the exactly year and model 2013 Sequoia Platinum and I have been looking for a few years anyone who have been able to lift this behemoth with airbags. Thank you now I am going to check your rear install video out.
Disconnecting the lower ball joints and loosening the lower control arms is the way to go. You can get the old strut out without doing that, but you'll have a very hard time getting the longer Bilstein 5100 in.
Thanks for the vid looking to install the arb full bumper guard on our 08 sequoia...just didnt want to run into any issues with rack and pinion..looks like this is the way to go!
I have a 2011 Platinum (OEM air suspension) with these part number for my shocks. 48510-34010 in front. 48530-34053 in back. I already bought new airbags and want to replace the shocks/struts with non electric. Just aftermarket shocks with 1" lift would be perfect. I'd like to use my springs in front. What to buy and how to reprogram the error code for the non sensor hook up shocks/struts. I understand I will not have sport, comfort choices but will still be able to increase the air bags for tow/haul. Much appreciated
Just bought a kit from your site (DOBINSONS / BILSTEIN 5100 2-2.5" FRONT LIFT KIT 2000-2006 TUNDRA). Do you recommend replacing the upper control arms on the first gen tundra? I plan on doing first notch - this is just a leveling mod for me.
I'm looking to purchase this along with the rear shocks and springs. How long would it take a shop to install this on my Sequoia? Your best estimate. Thanks
Does removing the sensors off of the shocks cause any issues or lights to come on? And at that point is the switch for comfort and sport obsolete? Thanks
I have a platinum with Bilstein 5100's as well. You can't tell from the instrument cluster that there are any issues but it does have codes that a proper scanner can read that indicate it DOES notice that the factory style dampers are not plugged in.
These shocks are meant to be run on stock springs for as little as 0.8" of lift. Since I was adding taller springs, I I'm not worried about over compressing the shocks. So no, no extended bumps needed.
So we don’t have to use the Tandem spacer if we don’t want a bigger lift or is it recommended when switching to the bilstein 5100’s in the back? Also did ur Sequoia come with 18’s or 20’s? Mine came with 20’s and 6 lugs
No spacer necessary if staying at stock ride height. The Bilstein 5100s can accommodate a stock ride height. Mine came with 20s, 5 lug. I switch to 18s. Thanks!
I'd match that with these rear springs: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p25/2862Spring.html And these rear shocks: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p644/DobinsonsGS59687RearShocks.html Thanks!
@9:10 it sounds like you stripped the hex bolt like I did, no? Anyhow, be careful not to strip it, really a pain to get out if you do. You also don't need to go from the top unless you mess it up. A normal L shaped allen wrench works just fine. Why in god's name did Toyo even use a hex nut in here like they did? It makes zero sense when nothing else is setup like that. @9:37 it's 17mm. I was originally bothered since our of my multiple metric socket sets, only one had an 18 and it was too long. Many metric sets skip several even numbers, but 17mm is the actual size for the nut. @10:25 I'm currently working on this. In no way has this bold come out the way it did for you. Hammering out from the other side of the bolt has given some progress, but I may be wrecking the bolt. I've used a hammering pin and I can't get the bolt to come out. I've tried different elevations of jacking up the control arm with no success. This is just a point in time reference to where I am at. If I have more to add, I definitely will.

Nice! Let know if you need anything else for that FJ. Be happy to help!

Thanks bud. It's worked out great so far.
Great video, well done. Watched before installing new UCAs and Bilstein 6112s on a Tundra. Cheers
Thanks for watching. Hopefully helped.
Great tips on getting the coilovers on.

Thanks for the video mate!
No sweat. Hope it helps!
You jackstand3d the truck before measuring 'before'.
Am I missing something??
Great seeing a fresh video and tout new spring compressor!!!
No jack stand during before or after measurement. Unless you see something I don't.LOL

Hi Dave, give me a call to discuss. 737-932-0532.

Oh, and love the video and details! Subscribed
Hey Richard, thanks for the sub. I recommend aftermarket UCAs if you go over 2" of lift. 2" or less and your factory UCAs are fine.
Let's go! 💪💪
skip to the end to get a sneak peak.
I've been looking for those wheels for a Sequoia--They look KILLER! 🤩
Thanks brother. So far so good.
Is it possible to get Closed Caption for your 2nd Gen Sequia Videos?
thx
Closed Captions on!
@@1stgenoffroad thank you sir!
Hi Josh, is there electrical connectors on the front shocks?
On the old platinum shocks, yes. One the new Bilstein 5100s, no. That comfort/sport toggle switch on the dash will be non functional after the switch.
I'm looking to purchase this along with the rear shocks and springs. How long would it take a shop to install this on my Sequoia? Your best estimate.
Thanks
Estimate, maybe 4-6 hours.
Could you possibly put this shock on a icon 2.5 coil over kit for a 00-06 tundra?
Won't fit at all.
Does removing the sensors off of the shocks cause any issues or lights to come on? And at that point is the switch for comfort and sport obsolete? Thanks
There are no dash lights. The comfort/sport switch does become obsolete. In my case, it was already obsolete because the shocks were blown.
Thanks for feedback

I might have missed it, did you have to do anything with the bumpstops?

What rear shocks can I use if I’m running air bags suspension? 2005 sequoia
These right here: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p1158/Bilstein5100RearShock20012007ToyotaSequoia.html
I’m looking to buy a set of UCA from you and wondering if you have a coupon code for them
Code "FB". Thanks!
Does those front shock can be install on 01 sequoia with diff drop? And then which rear spring and shock can match for the rear?
Here's the front end kit for the 01 Sequoia: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p589/DobinsonsBilsteinFrontSequoia.html
I'd match that with these rear springs: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p25/2862Spring.html And these rear shocks: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p644/DobinsonsGS59687RearShocks.html Thanks!
Is the freedom off-road upc and freedom off-road coilover compatible with a platinum sequoia?
They are as long as you lift the front at least 2". Thanks!
