@@OmnistarEast thank you for posting this, i was dying to learn the english lyrics for this song. And they are actually way better than i thought they would be.
It might be just a small detail, but at 3:11 there is a brief silent break which represents the "3rd or silent toast/pledge" -in the Russian culture/etiquette that is for honouring the fallen ones
1:03 This scene hits hard I assume the fallen tankist just got married, and I really don't want to assume that his wife is pregnant too. It's heart wrenching just to think about it, that you'll never get to be with your loved one again
Terrible how these American leaders say they fight terrorist, even tho they created taliban and isis just to fight Russia and afghan people wanted to be liberated from terrorist, ussr did its best, but America kept funding the terrorist, resulting in young men dying, it’s sad to see the world be like this
Who would've thought American veterans would end up sharing so many experiences with Russian soldiers of decades past? Regrettably we didn't get any songs out of it.
Who would have thought an entire generation of americans, most of them likely born after the fall of the USSR, would be resonating hard with soviet war music from over 30 years ago. History may not repeat itself but the rhymes can be cruel.
2:25 A little mistake. The literal translation is "Here there are no ghost gangs". The Soviet soldiers called the Mujahideen "duh", which means ghost. So the real meaning is "There are no mujahideen gangs here". "Ghost gangs" is used because of the bushwack doctrine the Mujahideen operated on, ambushing then disappearing.
This is a song about Russians attacking Mujahideen convoys that came from Pakistan. A lot of Russian paratroopers died in the suicide missions where their task was to destroy the enemy convoys supplying the Mujahideen behind enemy lines
Also about "Caravan it is the Sun of the face" - correct in russian "Caravan it is salt on the face" due salt sounds like a "SOL" the interpreter thought SOL it is like italian "Sole" - SUN
Actually, that's a common misconception. The term "dukhi" came from the word "dukhman", which is a bastardized form of "dushman" simply meaning "enemy". While it indeed means "ghost" in Russian, it holds no connection in this context whatsoever.

Most likely, under the "caravan" Rosenbaum means weapons transported from Pakistan by the Mujahideen, from which they killed russian soldiers. Rosenbaum himself, in addition to performing music, personally participated in the Afghan war. In war, he both shot and killed. His songs "Black Tulip" (in russian "Чёрный Тюльпан"), "The Road of a Lifetime" (in russian "Дорога длиною в жизнь") and "Caravan" contain the personal feelings, which he experienced in the war.

Caravana,
Caravana,
Isso significa "Você pode"
Caravana,
Aqui matar um soviético é mandamento do Alcorão
Caravana, Caravana, Caravana

they never learn.

It should be translated into "zealot bandits"

What does he refer when he says Caravan?
This is an exit to destroy a caravan from Pakistan with weapons for the Mujahideen.
@@alexanna3966 thanks
Most likely, under the "caravan" Rosenbaum means weapons transported from Pakistan by the Mujahideen, from which they killed russian soldiers. Rosenbaum himself, in addition to performing music, personally participated in the Afghan war. In war, he both shot and killed. His songs "Black Tulip" (in russian "Чёрный Тюльпан"), "The Road of a Lifetime" (in russian "Дорога длиною в жизнь") and "Caravan" contain the personal feelings, which he experienced in the war.
@@kajzer4125 Thanks for the information
Actually, can you switch the order of the title? All of your uploads are "artist - song" but here it's other way round
Do you know what year this was written?
this song is from the album "Дорога длинною в жизнь", 1987.
