I have wanted to participate in a mystery quilt for a long time (that wasn't scrappy). I am so excited to join. I am a week behind, but I am okay with that.
I love mystery quilts. I have done several in 2022 and one that has a few more months to go. I am out of country for a few weeks, but will start when I get back....hopefully I can have the willpower to not read ahead. Thankfully I'll be home before the reveal, so it will stay a mystery.
Patterns are available in the files section of our facebook group called The Quilted Forest Friends, which may be found at this link: facebook.com/groups/348191223475240. The full instructions are in the video, you can easily make the mystery by just watching the video, pausing, and following the instructions as you go.
I have a brightly colored Kona solid jelly roll that has been waiting for something fun. I’m thinking of trying an all solids with black, white, and maybe some gray, too.
I have a geometric jelly roll and a tub of batiks that I'm going to go thru to see if I have enough in my stash to do this. I've done mystery quilts before and they've all turned out great
I am on a no buying quarter. So, if I can find enough background in my stash I will join in. If not, I will have to wait a few months to make it. I love the mystery!
In our Facebook group called "The Quilted Forest Friends" the PDF is called "Mystery Quilt Winter 2023 - Clue 1. There are other pdf's in the group for other projects so make sure you're choosing the correct one.
Sometimes in the videos I will present slight differences to help provide shortcuts, or certain tips and tricks that aren't as easy to convey on a printed pattern. You'll end up with the same result in the end. That's one of the fun things of following along with a mystery! That's also why I always encourage people to watch the videos because I will sometimes include things in the video that you won't find in the free patterns I make available as pdf's. Hope this helps.
