Just finished squaring up 192 half square triangles for another project this morning... Thank goodness for QS ruler and the "knob"!
Thank you for the great sewing tips. I think the hearts are wonderful when you have fun ties with pinks and oranges like Alex has. Unfortunately all my ties are browns blues maroons and grays. I don't think they lend themselves well to hearts. I'll have to pick another pattern.
Alex, I would like to send you pictures of a couple quilts from the San Antonio Quilt Guild show this past weekend but can't remember you email address. I know you leave out some of the vowels from you last name, but couldn't remember which ones.There was both a Color my World and a Garden Party Down Under.

Sure the fault is mine, but please show the package of the ‘stuff’ you are using on the back of your silk. I can’t quite catch the name.
After washing my beautiful silk ties and finding a few spots- stains, I tried the wash that Alex mentioned. Please do not try this on colors! My ties ran into each other and the beautiful light colors are now browns. I washed them first in Dawn and water and they came out beautiful with very little colors running. This stuff that she mentioned is great for linens, whites and creams- but not for colors. The ties I washed with this are absolutely ruined. I will be looking for more ties and washing them only by hand in Dawn and water! Believe me, it ruined the ties I washed in this stuff.
