@@peluchingamarra3127 Yeah, but not all Mexican media is innocent. I can't seem to find it now, but I did watch a press interview when a Mexican reporter was ask them if they think they would have become famous sooner, and more famous than what they are now if they had chosen to record in Spanish; and the reporters tone of voice was not a pleasant one. She made Dany nervous. Poor Dany was shaking her leg when she was answering the question, and her sister Ale tapped her leg to help her stop. I felt bad for the girls because as sweet as they are, they don't deserve being approached liked that at all.
The seisters are world class musicians!! Pau is an amazing drummer, singer and song writer! This spanish song is a strong respose to the critics that called them cultural traitors (Malinchistas) for singing in english. Awesome! The drummer is Pau's drum teacher Beto Ramos Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
Pau was always a superstar in the making. She did a couple of performances prior to this one where she was the frontwoman on stage. But every other time they came on stage with another band already performing. Ale and Dany plugged into the other band's amps. But since Pau is a drummer, she was the one without an instrument to play. So it made sense that she was up front, the one person out. But she also showed what she could do when unleashed and the fans responded to it. Dany has always encouraged her to do things like this. IDK, maybe it was her idea. Also, they wanted to showcase the talents of the people who served as their mentors, including Beto Ramos, Pau's drum teacher who plays with the band Jumbo. He used to be in a band called Los Claxons with Ale's bass teacher, Pablo Gonzalez, who was also the teacher who nudged them to try writing their own songs. They wanted to give those important people in their lives a public thank you in a way that would expose their talents to a worldwide audience. They obviously planned this show for a long time and they pulled it off spectacularly. Yes, the song was at the end of the second set. They had two encore songs, Maritiro and Evolve, that followed. Narcisista was their answer to their critics, essentially flipping all of them the bird for criticizing them by writing a song in Spanish. For the record, they write songs in English because they are more comfortable doing that. They learned Rock music by listening to English language songs. Yet, they are extremely proud of their heritage and they have had a long association with other Mexcian musicians as they were learning their craft. Musicians tend to know one another, especially in their local community. Fun fact, though, they struggled writing this song in Spanish to the point that they needed an assist from their mother to check it over to make sure the song made sense and was grammatically correct. They have since composed another song in Spanish, Martirio, which is my favorite song. And I believe they intend to continue writing some of their songs in Spanish whenever they have the inspiration. Over this past weekend, they participated as presenters at the MTV Latin American Awards. Obviously, they want to be successful in reaching fans all over the world.

They went to an all girls Catholic school in Monterrey Mexico. Their parents put them into the English track at school, where they learned to speak English so well. As a result of this, I think they may have missed some Spanish grammar lessons. After they wrote the song, Mom had to correct some of the lyrics.
Narcisista is such a fun song in concert. Everyone sings along to the NA NA NA NAs. Pau doesn't usually get a chance to get out from behind the drums, but occasionally someone takes over drumming for Narcisista. At this show it was actually her drum teacher. There were a couple of shows when they toured with Halestorm that Arejay Hale played drums so Pau could get out front and run around the stage for Narcisista. They have such amazing energy. At this Teatro Metropolitan concert they did a costume change half way through the show. They started off in black outfits, then switched to white. When they walked off at the end of Narcisita, it was the last song before a two song encore.
Love your reactions! You epitomize my journey. When I saw them the first time I was obsessed. Finally seeing them live Tuesday in Cincinnati and I'm so excited! Can't wait! Keep up the awesome work and enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole! :)
This is a rare occasion, as usually Pau sings this from behind the drum kit, except in rare occasion where they would invite the drummer from the opening band or the band they opened for to join.

I Assure You It Will Be PUH PAU !!!
That's Beto Ramos, Pau's teacher. And the end of the chorus is "condenada narcisista!" Meaning, "damn narcisist!" The band was catching flack from people for writing all their songs in English so Pau was like, "Ok, take this then." And it was done with respect and everyone loved it and removed the complaints but with nothing but pure Pau confidence and power. Pauer, if you will. ;) As a "gringo" please correct me if I'm mistaken, but that's what I've come to understand. :) All the love to The Warning and fellow The Warning Army members!
Yes definitely need to do Disciple this week. It will most likely be the opening song and one of there most popular. There is a Teatro version of course.
This song was in response(actually an FU) to their critics in the Mexican media who condemned them for writing all their songs in English. Beto Ramos was Pau's drum teacher. I read or heard in an interview that Mony acutally was a ghost writer on this one.😉
She helped them make sense of the Spanish lyrics they wanted to convey. Apparently it's hard to write lyrics in Spanish that make sense especially if you usually do it in English.
The original live debut of this song at Foro Didi is a top 3 moment for the band. To watch Pau clap back at the critics that attacked these young girls (4 years ago) as "cultural traitors" is amazing. They released the song as a stand alone single because they couldn't wait for an album to get out the message. Pau had something to get off her chest, and she did.
Ashlena please don't miss watching the version of Narcissista live from Foro Didi. That was the first performance they did of this song live and I think its just as good as this one.
I'm really enjoying your reactions ashlena. I like that you get it, TW has a great sound, but then you hear the lyrics and they just seem to draw you in. TW is just a great talent. Cheers.
Beto Ramos is Pau's drum teacher, mentor. He is a double Latin Grammy nominated drummer with a band of his own. The Warning had to restructure Narcisista to accommodate Beto's solo in the middle. Its not part of the original song. Incredible how tight these 4 talented musicians were. Ciudad de Mexico is what she said when addressing the crowd. Ciudad = city + de = of + Mexico or Mexico City as we say it in English. Here is a link to their premiere of Narcisista in 2019 with English captions ua-cam.com/video/6Ay4RqhQB0I/v-deo.html&ab_channel=RandomMusic%40TheWarning
Glad to be following your journey down the rabbit hole. You definitely need to react to Disciple live from Teatro Metropolitan before the concert, they will for sure play that song on tour cause its a massive banger. Also should react to Dull Knives live from The Warning Cave for De(Tour), its a crowd pleaser. 😎🤘Keep rocking, and have a blast at the concert.
You REALLY need to squeeze Disciple into that list before the show. It’s a banger and they’ve been opening the shows on this tour with this one. Plus it’s one of the best live vids. Lots of vocal trade offs between Dany and Pau.
This song was to answer those Mexican critics that called them out for not singing in their native Spanish or singing the more traditional Mexican music! Now think about this- Paulina normally sings this while drumming! Her old drum teacher Beto Ramos honored her by stepping in to drum so she could step up front and sing!
Paulina unleashed! Like a nuclear bomb going off! I can see why their neighbors complained when they were children playing Rock Band in their living room. Rock is Alive. Long Live DPA 🤟⚡️🫶
This was a great song at the concert. Pau actually physically reacted with a member of the audience too. They form Hearts with their hands. A guy in the audience did half a heart with one hand and Pau completed it(5:33) with her hand. It is not shown in the video, but immediately after, Dany and Ale are all SMILES because of it(5:35). When you watch the full Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert, you will see it.
As many of the others have said, this is their response to some Mexican critics who called them "malinchista" (loosely translated as cultural traitor) for only writing songs in English. Pau usually does sing this song live from behind her drum kit, but there have been 4 times that I am aware of her coming out front. This was the first time I am aware of (there might have been one earlier that I haven't seen and i'm sure someone will fill in details if needed). The next two times were the last two shows of their fall tour with Halestorm when Arejay Hale came out to play drums. I was at the first of those shows and funny story. Pau's mic wasn't working at the start of the song. When she realized that, she swapped out and grabbed Ale's mic from her stand. Everything was great after that until the guitar solo was coming to an end and Ale realized she didn't have a working mic for the na na part so she had to run across the stage to use Dany's mic for that part. The next show Arejay, being the old pro that he is, made sure to test out her mic before the song started and praise the band to their Halestorm fans. The last one I'm aware of was at a show on their most recent US tour when their guitar tech Cachi (who is actually a drummer by trade) filled in. Whether she's behind the kit or out front, this song is an absolute adrenaline bomb dropped on the crowd as soon as Dany starts that opening riff.
I believe someone actually called Pau a narcisist in a mexican critical review, or words to that effect. So yea.... Pau is someone you never want to call out or criticize in a way that isn't positive and helpful, because you'll go down in history as the subject of a song. The same thing happened with Animosity... it's written by Pau about a personal relationship/friendship gone bad, ironically about someone saying Pau spent too much time with the band rehearsals, rather than socializing with that friend.
There are 2 TEDx shows. They did one in 2016 and the response was so positive they were invited back for 2017. They did 3 songs for each but the spoken parts between songs are well worth listening to whether you react to them or not. I was struck by their intelligence and how much insight into life they already had. Have fun on your journey and at the concert. 🎉
This is one of my favourite songs from them! When Pau gets hacked off about something it doesn’t take long to get the desired response from her (usually several fold more). Great reaction, looking forward to hearing about Sunday! 🌹
You think the audience sings here (Mexico). They played in Germany in July. When things calm down. Try a German concert. Later is fine. Later after this concert, while touring with Halestorm. Arejay (Lzzy Hales drummer brother) Played the drums for Pau.
Your reaction at 3:34 is priceless, love it. Pau is an absolute dynamo. I have really enjoyed watching your journey with these incredible young ladies.
These CDMX shows were special: 5000(?) seat theater, “hometown” crowd singing every song, a few guests like this drummer (Pau’s drum teacher), and a big stage for Dany and Ale to run around on. As has been said, after the show on August 29th, Pau was overwhelmed with emotion and Ale comforted her on stage. I also suggest that you search UA-cam for “Lzzy gifts Dany a guitar”. Very touching the on stage scene, and you can see how small these girls are. BTW, you’re 5’3” and Pau is 5’0”.
This is going to be a Whirlwind Warning Week! 😀 Sooooo many songs to react to, so little time! Your reactions are so much fun and will make this week leading up to the Toronto gig very enjoyable! Narcisista was The Warning's stinging reply to some critics in Mexico who were complaining that they sang only in English and therefore were "cultural traitors" or "Malinchistas"
Another song that they will play for sure is Survive which is also from the concert at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, so dont let this slide!! If you do TEDx it will be on there too, but the newest version sounds the best it has yet.
I love this band so much! As a fellow Canadian Ashlena I have to say I love your reactions. These ladies are pure energy and they love to give all that energy to their audience. You will absolutely love them live because they hold nothing back! Thanks again for your reactions and now subscribed and looking forward to more of your reactions!
As much as I want to see all your reactions, I almost feel like encouraging you to save Evolve for the concert, so you can be completely surprised, and pleasantly shocked! 😁
There is this Mayday in the Making series they put out about their recording of the Album Error that's really good. It's 6 parts each about 5 minutes long. I think you'll like it. It talks about them as people.
Great reaction!! Beto Ramos was a special guest Drumer for this song!! Beto Ramos was one of Paulinas teachers!! He is the Drumer of Jumbo another spanish rock band. And he started at The Claxons another great Mexican band!!
The other song that has spurred me to learn Spanish. I love that Pau's reaction to criticism of making songs in English was to call those people out in a Spanish song. Their reason for making songs in English is simply that it fits into rock songs easier. They can use fewer words to get their point across using English, but it is clear that when they take the time to do it they can make a killer song in their native language.
Great reactions again, tedx is not an interview but a 18 minute video of the 3 sisters talking about their journey thus far. They talk about family, about their refusal to join major recording deals( one being Disney but not named ) and why they did not sign. Also 3 songs are performed. As mentioned in comments, Disciple is one you should squeeze in. The song, Amour. The best live performance with great video and good audio can be found on UA-cam under 'The Warning UK Private show' time for the video is 20 minutes and 05 seconds. This was a great show I attended in London in a small venue. It was a very intimate atmosphere with 280/300 people attending. The show was meant to happen 3 years ago just before the pandemic struck and was mainly for the contributors to their kickstarter appeal to raise funds for recording Queen of the murder scene album. They needed to raise $26000 US, and I think they achieved their goal in a couple of days. Although their current label was against this concert, they still honoured their promise 3 years later. Looking forward to reactions, thanks Ash 🤟
Pau is a 5 foot stick of dynamite behind the kit, as a front woman or even in the studio while disputing with production staff how the song is going to go!
Malinchista means someone that prefeer another country's tradition than ours(mexican) It comes from "La Malinche" a mexican woman in 1500 that get "married" with Hernan Cortés (spanish conqueror of mexico)
I forgot to comment, you should (in your own time) watch this song performed at En Vivo en Foro DiDi Monterrey. They had the lyrics to this song on the back screen for all to see. Pau face showed grit and anger, she even pointed at the lyrics midsong while singing and drumming. She was there to let everone know how she felt. It was gold to see at a young age they're not taking shit from anyone.
Apparently, in a lot of non-English as first language countries like Mexico, it's a way of honoring the band by singing their songs with them. Being from Mexico The Warning feel so honored when it happens. Apparently, this custom never caught on in the English as first language speaking countries like the United States and Canada. Please, feel free to help usher it in at your show. They love it when you do. 😊
People sing along in US. They are not as energetic but plenty of singing along at the shows I was at in May. And everyone sings na na na na na na na na...
@@ichabodcrane2959 We sing the nana’s like you just said. Yeah, I’ve been to the shows, too. You’re correct. Not with the same enthusiasm or every single word of every song. There’s a difference, right?
You will definitely see the front 4 - 5 rows of TWA uber fans singing their hearts out to every song. I know that i do and usually everyone around me is singing as well.
Sometime after the concert you should dive into the Lunario full concert. They played the entire Queen of the Murder Scene album live which is a concept album with a story and you should check the meaning of each song to follow along with the story. Also who does a concept album as their second album?
"Malinchista" is a Mexican prejorative aimed at "cultural traitors". La Malinche was an Aztec woman who assisted the Spanish Conquistadors in the conquest of the Aztec Empire. She helped the invaders destroy her people. Imagine aiming that term at children. This song was Pau's response.
"Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na Dicen que soy egoísta, condenada narcisista" Ashelena, this is the part you want to learn so you can sing along during the concert!!!
If they did all their songs in Spanish. I wouldn't care. BTW, Pau is probably one of the few drummers of either gender who plays in heels. The replacement drummer is killer, too, especially considering he's playing on someone else's kit.
Hey Ashlena! This song was written as a response to some in the Mexican media giving The Warning crap for writing their songs in English. This is a big middle finger and FU to them, in the nicest, classiest way! hahaha. Yes, Malachesta is essentially a cultural traitor. I believe it originated in the Spanish conquistador days of the Aztec Empire's collapse, and derived from someone's name that was thought to be a traitor to the Aztecs. (If I remembered correctly) Yes, watch the TEDx talk from 2017 (Their second one). Not that both aren't great, but 2017 is just a bit better, IMHO. In 2017 they played 3 originals and in 2016 they played two originals and a cover of Foo Fighters: The Pretender. (They have a music video of their cover of The Pretender, so watch that instead) I was very jealous of you getting to see them this weekend, until I realized I may be able to see them over Thanksgiving (US Thanksgiving Nov. 25th) weekend in Cancun, MX. YES!! Have a great time Sunday! I know you will be blown away!
I get your super excited for their concert... but you should see their Queen of the Murder scene full concert at Lunario. This concert is Fire!. I compare this concert to Tommy Rock Opera By The Who. That's how good it is. I predict that in time Queen of the Murder Scene will be one of the greats of this decade.
Probably one of the rare occasions that a different live version of a song should be reacted to besides the magnificent Teatro Metropolitan versions. They premiered this song at Foro Didi (also pro shot) and, for me at least, the song just hits harder with Pau singing it from behind the kit. Check it out!
I always love your reactions. Question is the Painting behind you, you? It is well done. I have a feeling after paying attention that Saturday is your Day for rest and I say Kudos to that. Can't wait to see more from you on The Warning, I look forward when you do.
you won't see it at a concert, but Pau's cover of Creep is a can't miss. Keep it up!
I second that!

TedX performances are each 3-song sets with the girls talking between songs, not an interview. The second TedX is an incredible video.
They are a good way to find out a little more about the warning.
It's so funny cause I find myself repeating "they're so cool" over and over every time I watch them. Just jaw dropped joy and awe 😊
Yes definitely need to do Disciple this week. It will most likely be the opening song and one of there most popular. There is a Teatro version of course.
I will!
Disciple will have to be a pleasant surprise.
Tomorrow ♥️
Cheers.
Thank you so much!!
Here is a link to their premiere of Narcisista in 2019 with English captions

Glad to be following your journey down the rabbit hole. You definitely need to react to Disciple live from Teatro Metropolitan before the concert, they will for sure play that song on tour cause its a massive banger. Also should react to Dull Knives live from The Warning Cave for De(Tour), its a crowd pleaser. 😎🤘Keep rocking, and have a blast at the concert.
I will!
Pau drum-less is a force of nature. Love them ❤
You REALLY need to squeeze Disciple into that list before the show. It’s a banger and they’ve been opening the shows on this tour with this one. Plus it’s one of the best live vids. Lots of vocal trade offs between Dany and Pau.
What Arron said!!!
Totally agree disciple one of my favorites
and an amazing example of Dani's ability to work a crowd
Toooooootally agree with this. It’s a no missing song at every concert.
Totally agree .... Too !
This has been my favorite song for years. And I don't even speak Spanish but I know what it means now.😂
This was a great song at the concert.
So much fun they sound awesome in Spanish and Pau was released to Rock out with her sisters front stage I love it. Thanks for reacting to this song.
1:33 crème de la crème!
It's cool to see Pau at the front of the stage for once but it's also cool when she kills this on both vocals and the drums =)
I think I like her drumming while singing its so impressive
I believe someone actually called Pau a narcisist in a mexican critical review, or words to that effect. So yea.... Pau is someone you never want to call out or criticize in a way that isn't positive and helpful, because you'll go down in history as the subject of a song. The same thing happened with Animosity... it's written by Pau about a personal relationship/friendship gone bad, ironically about someone saying Pau spent too much time with the band rehearsals, rather than socializing with that friend.
Hey Don, wonder if you'll get the Pau treatment for your livestream comment while they were playing some game.
Hi Don
There are 2 TEDx shows. They did one in 2016 and the response was so positive they were invited back for 2017. They did 3 songs for each but the spoken parts between songs are well worth listening to whether you react to them or not. I was struck by their intelligence and how much insight into life they already had. Have fun on your journey and at the concert. 🎉
The 2017 TEDx talk contains 2 songs that are still are on the setlist today: Survive and When I'm Alone.
Arejay (Lzzy Hales drummer brother)
Played the drums for Pau.
Your reaction at 3:34 is priceless, love it. Pau is an absolute dynamo. I have really enjoyed watching your journey with these incredible young ladies.
Pau is amazing as always, with her strong powerful vocals and stage presence.
TedX is live on my channel!
@@ashlenamusic I'm always working when the fun stuff happens..🥺
I love this band so much! As a fellow Canadian Ashlena I have to say I love your reactions. These ladies are pure energy and they love to give all that energy to their audience. You will absolutely love them live because they hold nothing back! Thanks again for your reactions and now subscribed and looking forward to more of your reactions!
Thank you so much!!
As much as I want to see all your reactions, I almost feel like encouraging you to save Evolve for the concert, so you can be completely surprised, and pleasantly shocked! 😁
Already did it 🙈
@@ashlenamusic I enjoyed it! All good! You looked thrilled! WAIT till you see it live and in person! holy moly!
Their Kickstarter appeal was to raise funds to record their latest album Error.
Pau is a 5 foot stick of dynamite behind the kit, as a front woman or even in the studio while disputing with production staff how the song is going to go!
Such badass rockstars
Malinchista means someone that prefeer another country's tradition than ours(mexican)
It comes from "La Malinche" a mexican woman in 1500 that get "married" with Hernan Cortés (spanish conqueror of mexico)
Nice!!!
That was awsome
@@OGK_Show Definitely a difference
Pau really flexing her theater chops on this one again.
I see a full length Broadway play in their future.
Written and performed by "The Warning"
I WOULD DIE, but I also would totally apply to be in that show haha
@@ashlenamusic lol....i would too, but i'd prolly just be a prop tree in the background.....🌳
That drummer is her teacher.
Sometime after the concert you should dive into the Lunario full concert. They played the entire Queen of the Murder Scene album live which is a concept album with a story and you should check the meaning of each song to follow along with the story. Also who does a concept album as their second album?
Will do!! I definitely want to do a full album reaction
You should put XXI Century Blood on that list and include the music video particularly on that one because it's like a movie lol
🙋⚡⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥
They will def sing Disciple at your (your!😁) concert, Dany and Pau trade off lead vocals. Fair enough on the mvs, makes sense 👏🤘
Can't wait!
Waw! ❤
I’m not sure if you already know, but there are 2 Tedx shows.
Just uploaded one!
"Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Dicen que soy egoísta, condenada narcisista"
Ashelena, this is the part you want to learn so you can sing along during the concert!!!
Thank you!!
If they did all their songs in Spanish. I wouldn't care. BTW, Pau is probably one of the few drummers of either gender who plays in heels. The replacement drummer is killer, too, especially considering he's playing on someone else's kit.
🤘🤘
Hey Ashlena! This song was written as a response to some in the Mexican media giving The Warning crap for writing their songs in English. This is a big middle finger and FU to them, in the nicest, classiest way! hahaha. Yes, Malachesta is essentially a cultural traitor. I believe it originated in the Spanish conquistador days of the Aztec Empire's collapse, and derived from someone's name that was thought to be a traitor to the Aztecs. (If I remembered correctly)
Yes, watch the TEDx talk from 2017 (Their second one). Not that both aren't great, but 2017 is just a bit better, IMHO. In 2017 they played 3 originals and in 2016 they played two originals and a cover of Foo Fighters: The Pretender. (They have a music video of their cover of The Pretender, so watch that instead)
I was very jealous of you getting to see them this weekend, until I realized I may be able to see them over Thanksgiving (US Thanksgiving Nov. 25th) weekend in Cancun, MX. YES!! Have a great time Sunday! I know you will be blown away!
Always watch the 2016 Ted X first!
Omg I hope you get to see them!!!
@@stillracer2514 haha, yes, yes, my friend! 🤘⚡️
♥♥♥
The drummer is Pau's drum teacher
beto ramos, pau's drumming teacher. two ted talks out there, both great, but 18 and 20 minutes long.
You must make Disciple live from Teatro Metropolitano before the show!
Tomorrow ♥️
I get your super excited for their concert... but you should see their Queen of the Murder scene full concert at Lunario. This concert is Fire!. I compare this concert to Tommy Rock Opera By The Who. That's how good it is. I predict that in time Queen of the Murder Scene will be one of the greats of this decade.
⚡🔥👸👸👸🔥⚡
Probably one of the rare occasions that a different live version of a song should be reacted to besides the magnificent Teatro Metropolitan versions. They premiered this song at Foro Didi (also pro shot) and, for me at least, the song just hits harder with Pau singing it from behind the kit. Check it out!
I will thanks!!
I always love your reactions. Question is the Painting behind you, you? It is well done. I have a feeling after paying attention that Saturday is your Day for rest and I say Kudos to that. Can't wait to see more from you on The Warning, I look forward when you do.
Yes, it is! A friend of a friend painted it for me. And thanks! Lots of rest of Saturday that’s for sure
