Another episode in the long-running FM24 journeyman series Non-League to Legend sees us taking charge of the first club in this year's journey, Tamworth. Will we conquer Football Manager 2024 or add another sacking to the collection? We can definitely see that weird lasers on the stadium roof! One of the many annoying bugs in this years game. My favourite so far is when I made James Madison captain when he was previously vice captain and he knocked on my door complaining that he had the captaincy taken away from him. One of replies was "I feel James Madison is a better captain than you"😂😂 even better he accepted that reply 😂😂
I wonder what triggers it as I've yet to see it in my game.

I am doing a Tamworth save myself. Got promoted after play offs. Kept Finn and Creaney. Finn still is my star in Vanara national. Now in battle for a playoff place again.
Exactly. Someone who understands low star players if they play well within your system etc. Kev’s last season squad Would of easily made post offs.

I mean, while changing to defensive tactics you also swapped personnel, in a squad that already has low cohesion. When altering that many variables at once, the probably of conceding will go way up.
Like you mentioned earlier in the vid, small tweaks is where the magic happens.

Always attack! The American football maxim says: a prevent defense prevents you from winning. Full on defensive almost never works. I love the series, thank you for doing this.
Kev I think you're the first person I've ever heard mispronounce the weald bit of Wealdstone. People usually pronounce the stone bit as stun. Love the vids

The glitch seems to have something to do with the corner flags. You can see the errant polygons coming out of all four corners during some set pieces.
The best way to defend a lead is to score more goals
I used to work in 3d modelling and that glitch is called z fighting. Where two surfaces are interacting with each other it causes that visual glitch.

Also, never let off the gas. It's a good lesson to learn one more time in the lower leagues. At least it didn't go all to hell.

Going defensive because you’re worried about staying up this season? You’re comfortably predicted to be mid table and we all know you’ll go up automatically again. But I do enjoy the attempt to add some jeopardy at least 😆

Re the Glitch.... yes we see it - BUT.... does anyone else have this problem... could be a problem with your graphics card ?
Lots of people on Twitter and in twitch chat have confirmed they have the issue too
Tsikhuna was never a shadow striker Kev, his attacking skills are quite poor, he is good physically and decent technically. I play him as an advance playmaker in the middfield but his best role is ball winning midfilder.
You have a very good team for this level. Your players are better than mine on my Tamworth safe and I am confortably top of the league close to secure promotion to League Two, though you pay them quie a lot more than I do mines.
And yes, we can see the weird lasers, but I don't see them on my game, so I wonder if it's some kind of incompatibility with your graphic card.
Confirmation that we do see it but, however, I do not experience it, so it might be from your graphic card.
Ive Also Have had the same experience with defending leads in fm24. Just don’t, I lost a 3-0 lead .

Your graphical glitch/flickering is probably graphics card related. I've not had it at all, I've got an NVIDIA card. Try rolling back the driver a few versions.

KeV you shoud do more time in an episode , maybe finish a season in 3-4 episodes so the series moves faster , just what I think tho
I get more messages telling me to slow down than speed up. I think getting a season done in 8-10 episodes is about right.

hello lollujo i recently just got the game and i was wandering how you could make the contracts be so cheap as when I do mine with chester (natnioal league north) they all want 20 k or higher. Btw love your vids.
Is not your monitor it happens to me as well but on the start of every game for 4-5 seconds

Most defensive I ever go is a balanced mid block
eastborune borough's 2nd goal was amazing yet kev said "poor defending, that's why i don't change"
bit of free throw jam and a great shot but i assume that if he stays on positive the player gets closed down faster. atleast from my experience as soon as i drop my mentality the opposition keeps getting these chances

you might want to try tshkuna as an AP as his favoured role and you have no other playmaker in the team.

Nope, comes through on the videos aswell, I also had a bug on mine where I didn’t get a registration window for European competitions so couldn’t register a squad, ended up having to play a team made mostly of greyed out players

Odd, in my second season now and not had any graphical glitches as of yet. but i am on drivers from September still lol, maybe its the newer drivers?

Kev’s obsession that player’s can’t make step up is scary. For someone who has played game for so long it’s really sad. Kev beat numerous higher level teams with last seasons squad. Also pre season last seasons players were brilliant pre season. Iv kept same squad many times and gone up 2/3 leagues with just 4/5 changes to the squad each season. It really ruins the continuity and feeling of the save. And the nostalgic/sentiment feel. At least give those 4/5 best guys a chance at the start of the season. If they don’t perform bring in the signings you made. Plus you keep much of your cohesion and ease them in slowly. I hoping 1 year Kev will do it this way and realise it really works.
Keeping the old players might work. Replacing them with better players works better.

That moment when Kev, puts a 4.5 star IFB as a 2.5 WB and the 2.5 WB as a 2.5 IFB, then complains 10 seconds later that his defence has been undone! - Even if you have been training that formation for over a year, you need to play your players in their best positions, Kev rules 1-0-1. ..... I love you Kev.
Edit: I have not had any graphical issues and I have the same save as you, Tamworth, etc same ground etc....I play on a gaming laptop with an RTX 3050 so no idea why you are having these issues but maybe it is a graphic card/graphics settings issue. Maybe when playing on your super NASA computer its trying tooooo hard to do stuff, where with mine, it knows it cant, so it dont bother.
Edit, Edit, have you (if you play via steam) run an OPTIMAL Settings check, not that it should make a difference, but you never know Kev.

Great series Kev. I'm expecting your first job interview by Christmas (in game). Shadow strikers seem to have been nerfed. Mines gone from 12 goals in 20 to 2 goals in the next 28.
