If a half twist throttle makes your wrist hurt, you're using it wrong 😉. I'm ok with both, but prefer the extra precision of a half twist when riding mountain bike trails. Thumb throttle will be safer though, and I had one incident when I was walking the bike, and reached down to pluck a leaf out of the brake caliper. The motion rotated my hand that was on the throttle, and the 2600 watt bike launched itself and flipped. Still have scratches on the rear rack 😢
I can ride a motorcycle for hundreds of miles no problem, my half twist on my e bikes hurts. The ergonomics are off, causes radial deviation. Definitely not using it went Wrong 😂
I only use the (left-side) thumb throttle when I start off or on a steep climb. If it were on my "shifting side", it would get in the way, since I'm frequently shifting.
I love twist, but I also will never use them. They are just so dangerous when operating powerful vehicles. Twist is fine on slow start and slow vehicles but twist is super dangerous if you have a lot of torque

thumb throttles make my thumb hurt if riding at constant speed for long periods but with a twist you can justrotate your hand forward so when you.give it gas your wrist is in normal position

Thumb throttle broke when I hit bad bump on road! On hey back bike race model! Thinking twist might be less prone to breakage!

I use Microshift on my bikes. I hate the Shimano mickey mouse ear shifters. I use twist as so I don't get confused under pressure.

Twist. I rarely wrap my thumb around the bars as my hands are at rest.
On bikes i have seen with thumb, its basically an on/off switch with no modulation of speed. Is that a thumb throttle thing or a cheaper bike thing?
