You two are so pleasant to watch, warm and welcoming and often funny. I so appreciate the absence of clickbait tactics. Your content is valuable and fun without the cheap tricks. I wish you nothing but fair winds, and thank you for letting me sail along with you.

Kia ora Amy and Matt...I am from New Zealand and am pleased that you visited us about half-way thru your 7 year adventure !!! I have just enjoyed sailing around-the-world with you in 35min and now am looking forward to beginning at episode 1 and sharing it in more detail. I learn so much from doing this [have just done the same with Dan and Kika on Sailing Uma]...am 80 years of age and 7 years ago i sold my home, bought a good motorhome, upgraded it for permanent living and each day is different from the previous day as i enjoy AotearoaNZ...love it👌!!! All the very Best !!!

US Antigoon Took the words right out of my mouth, so instead of a new comment I'll just say a big DITTO!! Excellent episode, makes me want to put the Oyster 37 high up on my list when I start boat hunting again, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later, cheers! 👍🏼💥😄

The only comment I should write down is "one of the best cruising boat tour I have seen"...
Your presentation of Florence at anchor or when sailing at sea is phenomenal, fascinating.
My feeling and guess is that you are making use of your home and school education. The great pleasure is to observe your personal art of behaving among people when socializing. Wearing casual clothing when filming, you do remember that you are meeting us, the viewers, at the afternoon tea or during the noon or evening siesta at our homes. That is why your gowns, T-shirts, dresses, blouses are decent and you both look good. It is obvious that Amy wins the gold medal.
Thank you for your film. This video should gain special Oscar award for short documentaries.
Ps. If I write a post a year from the realise date of your video, does it make any sense for you.

Absolutely superb! I love the practical and minimal approach used. All of the essentials, little to go wrong. I'm very impressed at how cleanly organised everything is. "Florence" is clearly a superb cruising boat (the amount of water tankage is stunning). The rowing/sailing dinghy is wonderful... I had one during my eight years of living aboard on a Grampian 30. You didn't mention the radar... and what do you use for a ladder (I guess a fixed one would interfere with the Aries)?

What a wonderful job on this video. The number one best comment that you two make is that the engine is sort of just for emergencies. Love it. When we used to go sailing with our boat we even came into anchorarages under sail and left under sail. We used the engine even less than you guys. ha ha. You both have a fabulous philosophy and attitude. Excellant

I had always thought Oysters came out of Foes, not Wrexham, so you always learn something. Yep, encapsulated keel, shaft drive and Skegness hung rudder, just what you want. The painting of the Fastnet was phenomenal but the best part had to be your sea-berth model 😂
Oh, and _love_ the ‘real’ nav station. Yum yum 🙂

I've only recently discovered sailing as a lifestlye choice. I've felt for a long time some sense of wanderlust or displacement, not unpleasant, more like a yearning. Watching your videos is not only inspiring, but absolutely stunning. It has birghtened my life to see the beauty that you two get to experience as a daily lifestyle, and even more by letting my realize this lifestyle is within my grasp. Thank you both so much for making these videos, the world is more beautiful with you two doing what you love to do!

As time permits I view some of the plethora of yachting videos permeating RubeTube. Most of the others leave a lot to be desired with cockpits full of scantily clad parasites supposedly sailing the world on someone else's contributions. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to see a female crew member wearing a very attractive respectable dress and not speaking like the "ladies" permeating the waterfront dives in commercial seaports. Well done!

When I first saw Florence, I was not aware that this boat is a true master piece of bluewater crusier. She is more luxuriery than I was thinking about.
As your vids are great film productions, I find more and more pleasure in returning to old episodes.
How much you have changed during your long stoppage in "Indonesia".
May it will happen that you will cruise around Africa. You remain silent about it.
    Favourable winds! Sail safely.

Watched lots of sailing UA-cam posts and you guys are the best. So nice to see the two of you getting on so well together. I spent 17 years at sea visiting many of the places you experienced and seeing them again through your eyes is so nostalgic. I have wonderful memories of my time visiting the pacific island groups but this was in the sixties when they were untouched by tourism. I particularly remember Tuvalu where we anchored off and a lot of the crew went ashore by boat and attended a wonderfully entertaining welcome from the islanders. I was 20 years old at the time and the experience was exhilarating. The girl dancers who welcomed us were so beautiful and many had blonde hair! It was only later that I learn’t that Tuvalu was an American supply base during the war against the Japanese. It was in these islands that a group called the cargo cult developed who worshipped an American supply sergeant. Apparently this Sergeant could get hold of any product that made life easier for the Islanders. Apart from this, the islands were magical in their own right and when we sailed away, it was with a heavy heart but with the ship stocked to the brim with tropical fruit.

What I enjoy the most about your videos is that you share the whole of the experience of traveling by sailboat around the world. I was a wanderer for many years in my life, however, my romance with wood took me to Aspen, Colorado where I became a master woodworker, specializing in timber frame and log accent in houses costing around $1,000 per sq. ft.. I lived 6 miles from the nearest paved road for 20 of my 43 years in Colorado. I only sailed while working on a man's house in Del Mar, California (weekend jaunts.) I ended up repairing a lot of sailboats in the San Diego area and came to know that boat people are such a fun crowd. I will donate to your adventure and look forward to more videos. Thank you for being the adventurers you are.

As far as not having a generator, I have seen many people putting a high output alternator on their motor (150ah+) so when wind is low, they get a double advantage of keeping desired pace and charging the battery bank. With some engines consumption is great at less than 2 liters per hour, certainly that consumption rate would be better than a stand alone generator I would imagine.

Set up very similar to our boat (a 34 ft). Only difference is that we still have to go to the mast to reef the mainsail (a hatch was in the way of any potential route back). Other than that, the few extra feet length must be useful for storage and tankage (we cannot avoid cans on deck, our lazerette's are far smaller and no nav station). We have to be really disciplined about what we carry but, on the other hand, we only cruise six months a year. Great boat, guys!

I particularly loved your cabin berth model 😂 Love that she has an encapsulated keel, shaft prop and skeg-hung rudder (I bags sailing with you down the Ibearian coast 😮) but slightly surprised at the starboard-side galley (how many times have I watched Amy cooking and that and not thought this before?) as I’ve often been told port-side galleys benefit from being ‘downhill’ when in a blow and on starboard tack. Of course at sea, stand-on boat and so starboard tack doesn’t really have so much meaning, but I wonder why Oyster built her that way around? 🤔
