Your right. Music is crap. I’m obsessed with the BeeGees. Everything they sang was a masterpiece in my opinion. Down to earth pure raw emotion!!!! No one can compare to them!!!
Bee Gees were voted 4th most popular musicians in the world behind The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, 4th were the Bee Gees. That alone is amazing considering the amount of musicians there are in the world. I listen to them so often and I thank you for your positive comments and I totally agree with everything you say.
I am 67 yrs old. I listen to their music every day. I've seen other reaction videos. Grown men saying their music, especially 'Too Much Heaven' will be played at their wedding, whether their wife agrees or not. 😄I would have had it played at my wedding, but I was married a year before it was released.
Sandra Dyer - Robins high voice is lovely in this song and his voice and Barry's contrast beautifully. The songs where they alternated were terrific. The contrast drew your attention.
Robin made this song shine! Such a shame, that reactors don't recognize his beautiful voice. He was so underrated. It takes 3 Bee Gees to shine. Barry is overrated, and did not do well when Robin left the group.
@@TheBrownlj I'm not arguing with that. I was just stating my opin ion. I already knew that some people like Barry's voice. I am not a stupid person. Again opinion. We all have our preferences. That's why we are all unique individuals.
He’s without his brothers. He has a beautiful family, a sister with a big family, and he’s brothers children have been with him. Not alone but heartbreakingly without him brothers.
So I’m a ‘90 baby but I grew up on 60s, 70s, 80s music and you’re right - it just hits differently. My happy place is 70s soft rock, soul, and disco. And I’ve loved the Bee Gees especially since I first heard them in 6th grade. Their music is so heartfelt and passionate and truthful. Robin’s voice especially makes me cry. Thank you for this sweet reaction x
I absolutely love 💕💕💕 the Bee Gees! I remember seeing Saturday Night Fever when it came out in 1977. Unfortunately I dismissed them at that time because I wasn't into that kind of music and I ended up missing out on all those years. Thank heavens for UA-cam, I think I have listened to every BG's song I can find. Better late than never! 🙂
Another great song from the Bee Gees is "For Whom The Bell Tolls". Robin's voice is fantastic in this one. They have a catalog of over 1,000 songs they have written for themselves and other artists. Did you know Barry wrote "Grease", but he said only if Frankie Valli sang it. Turned out to be a good choice! They also wrote "Islands In The Stream" for Kenny Rogers, but in the studio with Kenny it wasn't coming out right. Barry heard Dolly Parton was upstairs doing some recording so he asked her to stop by....that duet has made chart history. Barry has the golden touch!
I can’t believe that I never heard this BeeGees song! I love it! Did you know that The Bee Gees wrote all the songs for a Barbra Streisand album? Woman in love is great!
There are so many bee gee songs, hard to choose, but it’s important to look at them as having two careers, pre Saturday night fever and post., I think anything off there first greatest hits album, and main choice album, I’d reccomend Fanny be tender with my love and secret love from a later album, keep exploring, they are amazing
I feel elevated to another level when I listen to the Bee Gees. Even one of their sad love songs makes me happy. They just touch your soul. Robin's vulnerable haunting sadness in his voice just cuts through me. It's beautiful.
And another thing. Holy cow. Robins voice. He’s amazing. This group is so talented. It’s so unbelievable their talent. Brings me to tears. I think part of the reason is this video shows them when they were young. Touching.
Well, that's a phantastic gem. Barry with both his great voice abilities, Robin bringin' in his beautiful blue-eyed soul and Maurice just rounding it up perfectly to three-part-harmony. This brothers are a gift to everyone, who's musically interested. Check'em out with a live-apereance on MTV Most Wanted. The song is called 'Blue Island'.
Totally agree .. I have always loved the BeeGees as from a young age. Now that I am growing older I understand so much better why I love them. Their music and harmonies bring me to another level ... wonderful Thank you for sharing!
The Bee Gees are a group that in a large part I ignored because of the "disco" era. They got wrongfully tagged with being a "disco group" and they are so much more.Their falsetto's and harmonies are top shelf. Songs like this one really touch me emotionally. The lyrics and the harmonies are heaven sent if that makes any sense. Thanks for your reaction. Take care.
What I saw in the video was the deep, deep love these brothers had for each other. All I hear when these guys sing are the recurring themes of love and togetherness. I think this is why I always feel better after I listen to their music.
Yes, I had to force my modern music-loving 17 yr old son to listen to some BeeGees, Alone being one of those songs. I felt a parental need to make him understand that it gets no better than when you FEEL something profound yet indescribable while listening. Thank you for reacting!
Check out the 1967 “to love somebody”, then also “still waters”, “I surrender” & “ I could not love you more”--the last three are from the same album as Alone--that you just listened to. Great stuff! Their music spans professionally/recording from 1958 through the 2000’s. You have a lot to choose from. They write all their songs, and have written songs and produced albums for other artists as well. They all were the nicest people ( Barry) is the only living brother now. Barry said that he did everything for his family. When they moved to the states in the 70’s it was mom, dad, wives, kids, his wife’s parents, their band members, all their families. All of the brothers were big family men, loved kids. They were all funny too, each in their own way, you should check out some of interviews on UA-cam.
I want to tell you that I raised my daughter on Bee Gees, Elvis etc.. All the songs I grew up with my daughter did too. And at the same time she listened to music that she liked. And I would listen to her music. So she knows a lot of the greats. Now my daughter is 42 years old. She doesn't listen to music unless I play music in the same room. My daughter had a stroke a couple of years ago. She stopped listening to music and to things she use to do. Maybe I need to start playing music around her again. I shouldn't of stopped playing music around her. I will do it tomorrow. I appreciate what you said it made me wake up. God Bless You
Great rant once again. Yepp. Love these guys. No misses from them ever. Almost unbelievably perfect. Waiting for yet another Bee Gees melody, accompanied by another well crafted rant.
I know exactly what you mean. I just get drawn into this music too. It really is on a different level. I am so thankful that there is over 50 years of their music out there. It’s all unique. Great reaction! Thank you so much.
You need to really watch the video and listen to the music closely. with no distractions. The video contains old home movies from their childhood in Australia and then coming to the England in the 60s to get into the recording industry. The mix of the video really shows their personalities and their closeness as brothers and how they matured through the years. At the end where Barry is singing "I don't want to be alone' and he is standing there by himself because he now alone since his brothers have died. This song and video really speak to me and touches my heart.
....they were, and Barry still is, beautiful men, too. They had the biggest hearts...they did so much for so many causes! You probably know this, but all of the proceeds, every penny, from their huge hit "Too Much Heaven" was donated to UNICEF. Well over $50 million dollars. They loved animals and were just "Ordinary People" (like their song). So down to earth. Barry's been married for over 50 years to the same woman, they have five children, and Robin and Maurice were both very committed to their long-term wives, and beautiful children. They all went on vacations together along with their parents. Details like that are important to me. It makes these three supremely talented men part of my heart, too.
Such details are important to me too....but sadly Robin was never committed to either wife. Think he had a good thing the first time around, but then she left him with their 2 children due to his promiscuous lifestyle.
What’s unique, in my opinion, is that I don’t have a distinct favorite. They all “bring something to the table”. My first memory of them is Robin’s “I Started a Joke” when I was 10 years. I can always connect their music to significant eras of my life….high school, becoming a wife, becoming a mother, grieving the loss of Andy, Maurice and Robin, soothing my heart during a painful divorce, soothing my soul after 9/11, becoming a grandmother, etc. Their enormous catalog of music has always been relevant, no matter when the song was first released. I love them, unconditionally, very much.
They most certainly are unique. I was a teenager in the late 70's & all of their songs are sensational for sure. They certainly melt my heart. I always had a 💝 for Maurice!! Obviously Barry was the leader, & Robin took part, yet Maurice played the piano, played the guitar, singer too!! Love them all too. Adore the song 'Alone' very much. xxxx
Love your honest reaction and yes I totally agree with your point of view about music nowadays compared back then. Check out the Bee Gees Nights On Broadway. One of the best live artists if not the best.
see below. Maurice singing. You can also hear Maurice singing baritone (I don't want to be alone). They had incredible talent. No auto tune and often in one take. Harmonizing was superb. Brilliant group from my era. Robin had a one in a million voice also. Listen to Rings around the Moon.
Thank you! Love their music. This song is such a Barry Gibb story in song. Barry is the only brother living at 75 years old but is still putting out great music. He is also a very humble family man.
I discovered this song the other day (on BBC Radio 2 I must admit!). I'm a sucker for a Celtic vibe so this song's hits me right in the heart. I think the video is inspired by the video for real love by the Beatles i.e a band in their middle ages looking back and still making music as a trio.

Listening to the Bee Gees is like being invited into their family. I've been a fan for 40 years and I feel so connected. It's the magic of the Gibbs.
Robin's voice in the interlude sounds like a beautiful silver flute.
Their music is so unique. They are the most harmonious group that has ever existed.
