Wow after watching this,I dare anyone to claim style is a superficial thing.
This is extremly beautiful. This Woman, this soul is just so extremly powerful in her softness. It´s unbelivable.
Life. Is so very, very difficult for some of us. This woman has somehow woven meaningful joy out of what life threw at her.
That chartreuse dress and cape set!!!! Heavenly!!!
Damn. This interview/video is absolutely more powerful than being about a vintage shop. The energy she exudes, for some reason touched me.
People also look at me funny when I say I love antiques but Madeleine has captured exactly when I love it. You loose all the negative thinking and feelings and step back in time to by looking at a piece (whether it's clothing or other items) and wonder what the story behind that piece is. Its magical
I agree!!
her purpose is making me feel all kinds of good
love her store would always stay there
Qual o endereço por favor?!
She's a Gem...Fascinating story, thanks for sharing...
Why is it that in a video about deafness/deaf people, you don't include closed captions or subtitles for your deaf/hearing impaired viewers? I'm deaf and I'd LOVE to know what's going on about this woman and her deafness and yet..
on You tube it is provided on the same bar with play/pause/volume but at the other side. CC has always been there. I hope you get to use it. You have to highlight that bar to see it.
Deanna Stevens Thank you so so so much. I never knew. Bless your heart.
hi there is a caption option for subtitles
Turn them on
Y'all can f- off. We know how to put the captions on! Christ! You've heard of mansplaining right? Well here's a new term for you. Hearingsplaining. "Turn them on". Christ! Anyway, Malice posted this 3 years ago.. probably a good likelihood it wasn't available then, more videos today have captions available. However... note that the majority of those videos are AUTO GENERATED. Auto-generated captions are the equivalent of watching tv on those antique staticy tvs. It's crap, you miss things, and also, there are mistakes. This one only has auto-generated captions which, luckily, it isn't too bad. It's tolerable. But it's not proper closed captioning. Oh and also Deanna is very mistaken. So many videos out there DON'T even have any kind of CC at all! SNL for instance, a very popular show in America yeah? 12 million subs. And yet, so many of their videos have NO CC at all. Their 'New Disney Movie' and 'Long Island Medium' episodes. Two shows i attempted to watch recently. No CC at all. So Kayla, why don't you go on over there and see if you can 'turn them on'. Once again, f-off with your hearingsplaining.
She's amazing. Very inspiring.
I show and tell different videos done by you guys. You celebrate the inner skin of humanhood. This one is awesome.
Oh, my!!! What an incredibly moving experience hearing her story!!! I love that store, too - I feel like if I went in there one morning, I wouldn't come out til closing time, because I'd want to look at everything, and hear the stories of all the different pieces, and be looking at that wealth (both the clothing and accessories, and Madeleine herself) for inspiration! Thank you for this, and thanks, Madeleine, for sharing yourself with us!!!
♥ ♥ ♥
I don’t know her but I love her personality and style. She is pretty amazing to me.
Does anyone think she's basically Edna Mode?!?!???!?!!?
4r tho!
Carla Coste "No capes!"
Carla Coste Edna Mode was based on the costume designer Edith Head
A young Iris Apfel...
she seems sweeter than edna
Lovley story. I wonder if she's in close contact with her deaf son? and did she remain married to her 2nd cousin. Fascinating women.
Madeleine... You are incredible and Fabulous! Living THE Fabulous Life and Always Moving Forward!...
She's fantastic, I so relate to her childhood inner life. Deafness runs in my family, and it happens to me, I want to handle it with her grace. I'd be curious to meet her son. Also, for anyone too lazy to Google, second cousins are the children of your parents' cousins. If you're like me, those ARE strangers.
Thank you for this!!! Madeleine, you are SUCH AN INSPIRATION. I love you!
Thank you guys for this video. It's so inspiring. I'm a vintageshop owner. It's not always easy to make a living out of passion. But looking at this. Wow. It's what I needed. Just like C. Madeleine, I couldn't do anything else than what I'm doing now.

Nice store and collection.
There was this lady that started a charity in SF in the 60s and 70s. She got designer clothes, furniture and other better items from SF high society for decades and the charity I think was for mentally disabled children. She even owned 3 house right next to one another to sale her donated food. I used to drive pass it often and thought it was just a weekend garage sale, but went once. One of the clerks said that age kept all the designer clothes in the 3rd. house and it was by appointment only.
About 5 years after discover this women and her weekend garage sales, there was this either whole page or double page article of her charity being investigated. And that she may have started started as a charity at the beginning, but continue to run her business for decades without making any sort of donations to help the mentally ill children. So she ran a great scam for like 50 years and was finally caught. They even gave her a free storefront at this SF mall for years.
In the article, this women said she donate a Claude Montana leather jacket and one time saw her wearing it to some opera opening and was shocked. You know it had to be the same CM jacket. She was also a SF socialite and travel frequently.
How sad that someone figured out a way to profit from the misfortune of children.
i hear the chirping of the smoke fire alarms
I love you, Madeleine!

Where is her shop located at?
It was in North Miami Beach. It is permanently closed, and the merchandise was sold at an auction by Extra Space Storage...consigners were not paid.
So they stole from their costumers... what a nice lady indeed...
Lady, I think that you and I, are totally soul sisters,..! Seriously on the same track, on the same insane train, on the same direction and the same path,..down the same road,..!
STRENGTH TALENTED LOVING WITH HEART OF AH LION ,,LOYAL COMPASSIONATE VERY SPECIAL COLOURFUL LADY .iCON
Que mulher belíssima!
Get rid of the fluorescent lights!!!! Looks like a super market. Doesn't do anything for the atmosphere or the clothing.
totally agree about the lighting. there was also a "chirping" smoke detector that doesn't contribute much to the ambiance I think she is going for. I must also say she must be Sally jesse Rachael's twin. separated at birth.
I was trying really hard to place that face..."Sally Jesse Rafael's twin" - dead on. @@ncjeffhyder
This makes me so happy! I love clothes and weird and wonderful colours, designs and textures - just for my personal style. I also have single-sided deafness, with a very real possibility of eventually losing hearing in my good ear, which terrifies me. Wonderful to see what she's made of it!
Could someone help to find out where is the store located?
Miami, FL on Biscayne in North Miami
Where in Miami is this store??
