A trick for those seal installation, cut a smooth can or plastic bottle strip, wrap it around the cylinder. Then put the o-ring over the strip, slide down to the grove and roll off the strip. Can't cut into your o-ring that way.
Hey Quinton & Phillip !! Great job of restoring the ""BOBCAT"" !! 👍👍👍👍👍 Now ,,saw that ""PETE"" sitting in the background as MAYBE the next project ?? 🤔🙄 Anyhows ,, "" HAPPY HOLIDAYS "" to You & ALL Families !!! 🎄🎄🎄🥳🥳🥳
Ive had to do this swivel job on my little Bobcat 418 twice now, kind of a nightmare on that small a machine. Ive seen a lot of leaky bobcat swivels. I was hoping to upgrade to a higher quality seal the last time i did it but seems like they're a proprietary bobcat design. I wish had this video the first time i tackled it, great job!
Yeah I was gonna say that too. Have a machine shop cut\spin you a copper or brass shim to take up that slack. You would think bobcat would have have a wear surface or something to prevent cutting into the swivel case destroying it....but then they wouldn't sell as many replacement swing gears!🤦🏻♂️🤔🤷🏻♂️😆👌🏻
bobcat machine, the pump is fed directly from the tank. when you bleed it at the pump, with the two plugs on it. You can get the air out after one actuation. Don't ask how I know. we have 33
With all the labor to get that manifold out, it would have seemed rather logical and cost effectivel to machine that upper surface while you were at it. In any case, its a darned sight better that it was before playing oil geyser!
ON the first black green seal replacement there was a wear washer. Could that have been worn enough to cause the case to wear on the top of the valve case. It probley not a problem, but was it thick enough? Just wondering out loud> HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY.
Did y’all look at the parts diagram for this swivel assembly? That o-ring goes after that snap ring, followed by a “machined cover” that is bolted on. Maybe you have missing parts. And I agree with the other comment…install a machine bushing where that wear occurred to take up the space. I may have also used a proper cylinder hone(not the spring loaded type designed ONLY for deglazing) to clean up the swivel bore. Hope it works well.
Go Pro sucks! Cheap, low-quality, blurry video. Everyone buying their stuff is getting ripped off. Someone's always saying they lost video, GoPro file corrupted.
I have to do my Yanmar excavator swivel soon . Dripping in same location on top . 1994 nothing ever went wrong on it amazing quality machines. Top seals go bad since sand dirt sits on top gets in and grinds away. My Grove Crane had same thing. Huge swivel easier to remover replace.
Love this series on the ole bobcat! Keep up the good work.
Very cool.. glad you got it working. Thanks for the video

I will definitely put that in my tool book!
Thumbs up, fix away, love all these fixes great video, and having a great time
That brownish goop is from dirty hydraulic fluid. Aside from changing out the filters I’d completely change the fluid too if you haven’t.
They put all new fluid in the last video
Man what a great buy and it's great you have the tools to fix it 🙂🤠
Running a business and making content for us to enjoy that’s a handful plus so thank you and Merry Christmas to you.
Good repair job guys. I hope y'all change out the fluid before the new pump goes in.
Phillip is the man!!!
"if I didn't have two awesome mechanics to help"....

Great video. I phone works great
Except that the video and sound are out of synch.
I ran excavators back in the 70's and this is the first time I've seen inside one of those.

Yeah, those swivels are definitely a challenge, but we managed to get it done. Just one step at a time
Good video. You always have interesting stuff going on.
You need to make a "can", Install the seal over the can, slide the can down to the groove, slide seal off the can.
Ain't this part called a Rotator manifold
Put a small thin shim to remove the up/down play

Like it 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
You will be digging soon. Or it will be in shape for Casey to borrow. 😆
OK I should just wait till the end you did change that wear ring. YA I`M HAPPY.
I think video is excellent

Great to know!
It takes 4 tubes to grease a 350 with a bucket thumb combo. No less !!
Wrap some shim stock around the swivel and slide your seals down....

You tape zip ties down the sides and slide the rings down to there place and removed as you go
Get a DJI Osmo camera. GoPros aren’t that good unfortunately. Great content 🎉

You should look into the DJI Cameras, they are far superior to the GoPro.
Nice job guys 👍👍
I have use compression ring to install those seals
I think you should start maken more video
I was wondering if the extra seal was a dust seal for that recess at the top of the swivel

21:55 - It's a Doosan under the paint ?
The dirty line is the common return to tank line would be my guess.
How I did it is the best bobcat information I have found he was doing a weekly live show you could ask questions about bobcat information 😊
Merry Christmas to all Cheers the iphone has a better video quality but the sound is a bit lower from your other vids but all i all was good
Thanks for the feedback
it's been my experience that bobcats have soft metal in the hydo cylinders and everytime you rebuild the, they start leaking in no time.
You’ll be able to put a few hundred hours a year on this machine for many years.
Can we watch it? Use that thing like dig up a ditch or whatever you need that thing for
18:43; ARE YOU RELATED TO THAT ''ADVENTURES MADE FROM SCRATCH'' GUY????
The iPhone seems much clearer
iPhone much better than GoPro
Go Pro sucks! Cheap, low-quality, blurry video. Everyone buying their stuff is getting ripped off. Someone's always saying they lost video, GoPro file corrupted.
iphone slow focus sucks, macro is also not good. gopro has way better audio
Could you put a shim washer on top of the swivel to take out the play??
Wishing you guys a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year😊
Go pro better quality

You bought it at auction s.
