Thanks for this video, I bought this back in 2007ish to use in my final mastering for radio mixshow mixes, along with BBE Sonic Maximizer, really made my mixes pop on the radio. I’ve just gotten back into DJing and producing this past year and forgot about this plugin. I was able to go to their website and upgrade for $9.99, can’t beat that!

We use analog synths and an Avalon pre amp/optical compressor, as well as guitar tube amps. We love those sounds. We have been skeptical of the plug in simulators - but some of them are really nice now. I saw a video from a Grammy winning recording engineer - and he used this plug in. We are planning to get it for use in ProTools.

This was an absolute classic. I remember first using it back in 2004 when I first started mixing ITB.

I never really understood how it worked. I thought I was the only one. I just told myself it was a bus compressor with a ton of "GOOD" saturation.

Great vid, thanks! Could you kindly make a video explaining your take on dynamic range on mixing/mastering (taking into account all the gear you've used and all the techniques you've picked up since you started) in the future? Again, thanks for the constant uploads. Cheers!

it adds 3rd order harmonics, just like sonnox inflator & fielding dsp reviver. check these two others too, they all are work in same way.

For lovely multiband dynamics, I put the Vintage Warmer 1 (2 is better for Master bus) on the drum group. Change the High and Low bands to taste, then put just a little on the "knee". This gives a silky smooth "pumping" sensation.

I just discovered this plugin watching an interview with Jacquire King -- he said it's magic on guitar bus,....and he was right. I've played with it some on drums and the overall mix bus -- I'm really digging it. The graphics skin is pretty dated looking, and it's weird, but,...who cares.

Billy Hughes We just paid for Jacquire’s mixing course, and our most recent mix sounds so much better. Now I know how to use the classic Pultec, 1176, Neve, etc. plug ins - and how to mix with master bus effects. We want to get this plug in next for our master track.

Best review ever: "I don't have any idea how this plugin works!" Ha! But I really got the point with the Pro-L turned on because you can see how it's limiting like a badass, with quite awesome sounding warmth. ua-cam.com/video/OGhiqh1HMjQ/v-deo.html - it's very clear when you turn down the output and see the Pro-L level drop, like a nicely moved the lawn!

Could the "ceiling" knob be comparable to the "range" knob on Ableton's glue compressor? I thought it was the threshold but it seems to not be that.

How does it compare to the PSP Master Comp? I bought that one a while back but haven't had time to produce Music as of lately.

ehh, problem is that loop sounded much better without all that distortion and saturation... this thing 100% made it sound worse.

PSP should have named this plugin the (Convoluted Vintage Warmer) Because nothing makes sense. I have this plugin, and I use it to what sounds good to me without understanding what I just did and definitely used my ear on this thing!

Electronic music sounds too digital for someone to bear? Shocking 😂
Carry on beating sticks and rocks and stamping your feet if you wanna stay in that musical snob cave, while the rest of us embrace progression in tech to stimulate our auditory senses

Let the guy do his thing. He's got a lot of good ideas and viewpoints. I think it's better when you get a little personal. Makes it more real and with more natural depth.
