you will really enjoy the airbag suspension, especially on heavily corrugated gravel roads. Good choice. When people talk about the durability of the system, they never seem to remember that almost all modern heavy trucks run them hundreds of thousands miles a year. The most vulnerable parts are the hose connections to the bag (don't scrimp on the connectors) and the ride height sensors. cheers and Merry Christmas from Hawai'i.
A tip I once got for my Range Rover P38 airbag system: If ever a height sensor fails swap it with one from the other side.Reason for failure is that the variable resistor / pot-meter in the sensor fails, but only half the resistance track is used and wears out. So when you swap it the other half is used. Not sure if it works with the Airbagman sensors but ... worth a try .
Hi guys, good mod the air suspensions, but remember, especially take care of the compressor (inlet filter & working temperature) and the suspension ECU (keep it dry and away from corrosion). Finally keep an eye at branches while offroading in the bush because these are able to cut your airbags if they get stuck between chassis & solid axels! Many years of air suspensions on my Discovery3 taught me this .-)
Very nice Video ! I Love what you two lovely People do ! Regards from Germany, have a good Christmas Time, with all you love ! And keep on riding your Land Rover Defender. Love You, you`re very nice Couple
Hey guys Merry Christmas from Philly USA love the show. You two are awesome and I have Australia on my bucket list and watching you guys I am getting a real insight on what to see when I get there. Safe travels!
Some people may be confusing the air bag setup with the older air shocks, if you used the cheap air hose that came with air shocks you would have issues. I ran basic no computer air systems on different vehicles and it was nice. If you are going to be on a severe slope dump the air as much as you can to reduce risk and when adding or removing a heavy load dump the air. Stay safe and healthy.
Happy Holidays, Hope you two have the best time with your family. Can't wait to see what you two get up to next year. Congrats on everything. Keep on keeping on
Excellent demonstration of how the full air suspension is perfectly adapted to heavily charged overlanding vehicles, thanks a lot. One question : how long do these airbags last before needing replacing? And now, we wish you also a wonderful holiday season. Take care
I was driving air suspension over 30 jears in driving semi 🚛 truck for jears in USA and the rest to my retired time now 5 year's retired. Only one back on semi truck brock in all my time, I close the air line and drove to Garage, no big think boddy.
Awesome video guys!!! I hope one day I catch u you on the tracks!! Love the channel and love how you are back home on Australian soil! Keep up the amazing work! Loving the videos! You have no idea how ur channel has helped me get through chemo!
Questions and comments! I have airbags on my 2020 Ram 3500, they are the Firestone type as well. The one thing I have been trying to tune out of them is the bounce/bob. They work great to combat roll and sway but have not been able to kill the bounce and bob, until I upgraded my leaf springs which solved it. I use them mostly to just level the camper now. I do not have knob adjustable shocks. Have you tried to turn the dampning up on the shocks to tune out the bobbing? ALSO. early on, I had a break line that rubbed up against one of my airbags and eventually wore a hole in it! Check for rubbing every so often!! o patching those things in the bush!! Merry Xmas you two!!!!
Cool video as always but the quebecois in me spotted the real maple syrup can. And I lost a bit of the conversation and had to replay it. ;) happy travels guys
G&B. Did you two look into the latest "Terrafirma" hydraulic bump stops too ? Perfect match with the suspension air bagged units as they'll perform together versus OEM fixed rubber bump stops ! V.
Just wondering how the airbags handle off-road in regards to wheel travel (ie: limitations) plus when heading off the beaten track how does the airbags deal with punches from flying sticks and rocks? Quite often when driving through heavily wooded forestry tracks I’ve found sticks flying up and jamming underneath the car… This would be a concern to me in damaging the rubber airbags…
Did you try to take off the camper using the airbags? As is you lift the suspension to the max, put in the legs, lower the suspension. It might make the job much easier.
Bonjour je vous suis depuis le début comment faut faire pour pour avoir un kit suspension comme le vôtre je n'arrive pas à aller sur le site pour avoir le bon
Air suspension is great but what if one develops air loss due to any of the multiple possibilities (compressor, lines, air-bags) many miles from everything! Is there a "limp home" possibly???

Merry Christmas fellas Enjoy the Summer Heat in Australia Stay safe and See you in 2022 !!!! Hope to see you in Brisbane next year !!!!
Good to see that the airbag mod worked out well for you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both and to your families.
Merry Christmas to you guys keep us updated on the airbags it is something I would like to consider on my 130 camper.
Happy Holidays, Hope you two have the best time with your family. Can't wait to see what you two get up to next year. Congrats on everything. Keep on keeping on
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to both of you.
Toujours un plaisir de voir vos vidéos.
Very much thinking about this for our 130, will be interesting to see how it holds up on rough tracks and over time.
Happy Holidays!!! Steffi & Lee. Cheers

Yay!
Looks to be quite a bit of flex in your upper shock mounts, especially the rearmost one? (1:47)
I noticed that too. It appeared that the top bolts were moving up and down.
Well spotted from the diagnostic GoPro footage ! Checks and overhaul indicated after several million cycles of service.
you can see it better at 6:54
super ces suspensions air bag !
passez de bonnes fêtes !
a +
Awesome episode once again :)
Very interesting video guy's. Maybe one day I will fit the air bag suspension. Merry Christmas to you and family 👍🌷🥂
Looks like riding the clouds. ☁️
Owsome.👍
Cheers. 🍺&🍷
O and happy hlidays. 🎄🎊🎉🎁
Wow ! so flexible - Defender looks like an overgrown 2CV on a ploughed field .. .. .. LOL !!

Merry Xmas, from NZ 😎🤙🏻

You were at Tim's Thicket for that test?
Quand j'ai recherché les coussins, j'ai trouvé des pièces industriels pour isolation des vibrations. On pourrait isolé un compresseur avec quatre petits coussins d'air par instance.
Looks like you need some more damping in there. It looks to be bouncing about quite a bit over the sand with the oscillations not being damped enough.
sharp stics and branches has entered the chat :P
😎👍
Do airbags LIMIT off-road articulation relative to factory coils?
Did you try to take off the camper using the airbags? As is you lift the suspension to the max, put in the legs, lower the suspension.
It might make the job much easier.
I think the closest I’ll be able to get to the airbag ride quality will be some Old Man Emu BP51s. Merry Christmas guys! Be well
You need show Andrew From 4xoverland the air bags set up he doesn’t like air bags I think it’s because no body will give it to him a free set up
😀
Great episode, what happens when a tree branch, piece of steel pierces one your bags, do you carry spares?
Let's hope the shock absorber mounting issue is not too deep. It would be appreciated to learn the exact source of the movement in a future video.

Having air suspension on my Range Rover is a dream, however saying that I am glad my Defender 90 has the old man emu heavy duty shocks and springs.
Those two jewish red haired guys were very well informed.
Could you not do the Patreons thanks so obviously that those that can't afford it are put off, please.
