I got a friend to play osrs with me but she didn't want to accept the bond I was giving her because she wants to learn how to play as f2p first to get a grasp of the game. All she did was train her fishing and woodcutting in order to make a little bit of money while training a skill so that she can just buy the quest item requirements when she wanted to do her quests. In just 2 days she was banned for Marco major. Sent an appeal and she even had a screen recording of her playing while we were in a discord call but her appeal was denied. Safe to say that she doesn't want to touch runescape ever again. Thanks Jagex.

I just started playing a month ago and my first account got banned and I have no idea why so I made second one and have been going steady with it. I've been opening crystal chests to make money but recently noticed like 3 days ago that what seem to be a bunch of low level bots have been doing it for early cash or something. They never reply to me and most leave the second they see me i dunno for sure if it's bots but according to the spreadsheet I've been tracking with my profits have literally been cut in half and I just can't imagine that was done by real players swapping to this method. I find it super annoying that my first account gets banned for no reason and then my money making method gets cut in half by what seem like bots.

I've been doing a lot of barrows lately and I recognize the stats you just showed for the one with barrows kc. It also used a similar name to some bots I've seen. There are from 1-3 of those barrows bots in every single world basically. Wearing mm2 guthix cape, verac helm, trident, magic shortbow w/amethyst arrows
You should try to report yourself with a different alt while collecting more red spider eggs. Maybe even a single report could end up getting you banned.
Makes me wonder what kind of backwards 90's detection program they got going on there. In that elven city there's always a couple of guys with like 120 or even 126 thieving and they still thieving elves, all day long, without responding or breaking the rhytm of the bot..
@@VinnieG- it’s ironic that as a bot developer, i always feel bad for jagex when players think there’s a magic ’ban bots’ button. bot behavior has never been harder to detect, which is why legit players have started getting banned since it isnt just enough to check for simple things like repetitive tasks anymore
@@andrewevans7992brother even if the team is small , when I’ve seen the same guy theiving the same elf for 90 days straight never talking never doing anything else then till that point I’ve basically been more of a bot detection then jagex has. Damn the “anti cheat team” can do its thing and just hire one person to go around in game and catch people and take half these guys out quickly.. I know the bot detection takes a while but there’s clearly many high level accounts that are bots doing bosses etc and getting away with it for months or even years.
One thing that got me a ban and forced me to write an appeal was going to the monks in f2p and doing defense training on them to start the account. I'd heal from them while low level and eventually would just spend a few hours clicking on the monk or rotating my screen every now and then. Usually would just do an alt tab right key then alt tab back to other games or UA-cam. Got a ban after maybe 3 or 4 days.
I got banned on a fresh level 3 after doing tutorial island and trading 30m from my main (for bond + supplies). The GP was obtained through pvm on main, not bought - and the main didn't receive any warning. But the fresh lvl 3 got a perm rwt ban. No vpn, was on my home internet. No other interactions. The best part is I made 2 x lvl 3s at the same time as I wanted them to be pk twins for rev cave luring - one received a ban and one didn't. Very broken system!

Pretending to be a bot wouldn't work because your clicks would be so different and even bots that have random clicks integrated a pattern ends up forming.
Anyone know how to get a legitimate player unbanned that has been falsely banned? My brother took a break from playing for a few months after he tried to return his account had been banned for boting , he then appealed and nothing... Hes still banned and everytime i try to get him to play he says why would he spend any time or money on the game just to get falsely banned and cant actually get a real person to look into it. Any help is appreciated??
Same thing happened to me. I couldn't get anything but generic npc responses from jagex. 19 years and the account was banned for botting. Happened shortly after I joined my brothers clan and started doing group activities with them.
Since you specifically asked about fairly basic behavior that doesn't break the rules but consistently gets accounts banned, literally just catching chinchompas at all and then going to the rev caves in too quick of secession. A friend of mine was permanently banned for that and I made a video about it that didn't get much traction, but others commented sharing similar stories resulting from the same actions.
This GE activity has happened in the past several times with rune pickaxes, rune full helms, and dark bows (just last night). I'm not sure if it's just bots dumping, or a form of "less detectable" RWT, but leaving offers in for several items similar to this can gain you a load of profit over time :D

@@starhope9630 It's possible, but there are far better things than that to bot for crafting xp i'd imagine. Even botting the GOTR minigame would be better for crafting xp. How about the tried and true flax picking and spinning :D. That is prob too obvious though, so who knows. Maybe it is just totally under-looked by jagex and they scoot under the radar.

Most the bought gold is in death matching theres alot of contraversy around dms atm and personaly shouldnt be able to put up billions in gp as bets as streamers 100 lose all and somehow gettin cupppe bill back next fue days so say from dms but this is cap 😂
False Bans have gone around, again. And Jagex doesn’t care, unless you’re a Streamer/UA-camr/Community Leader, we’re just another number on a spreadsheet to them.
at this point i have just accepted that runescape has long since past its glory days. not just because of all the bots but because of the direction jagex is taking the game. they spend more time on penny pinching than fixing the game. not as bad as new world but its getting there. runescapes benefit over new world is that it began with a solid foundation of a gaming experience.
I'm convinced Jagex is supporting certain groups of bots. The bots stick out like a sore thumb, and Jagex doesn't do a darn thing. They don't even bother to stop spamming bots from repeating the exact same gold advertisement phrases over and over again. I mean, it would be simple to detect the same phrases or pattern of phrases being spammed one after another and add a time limit or temporary mute, but they don't even do that. Instead, real players are getting banned instead. There's even some account recovery loophole that botters are taking advantage of to regain or gain access to accounts that were previously banned or don't even belong to them (look it up). I just don't feel safe investing effort and time into this game anymore, and I've been around since what's now referred to as Runescape Classic.
what are you supposed to do if you have an account get hacked while your taking a long break. Then when you try to log back into it, it has been banned for botting? It was probably a legit ban, only problem is, you didnt have access to the account at that time.

My main was taken over by a bot farm while I was taking an extended break. I recovered it and it was on the front page of Callisto 32k kills!!, and had FIVE appealed macro bans. Jagex doesn't care.
ive quit this game like 3 times now for false bans. most recent and enraging one was using my main to farm gargoyles semi afk in full guthans. it lived there, and used its gold to buy bonds for like 3 other accs. banned for rwt. but it only ever traded bonds to my other 3 accs.
How come the player mod gets unbanned from his false ban but my appeal was immediately denied? I lost my max iron just doing TOA a couple weeks back and Jagex has no customer support so i’ve just been wallowing in sadness.
i got a false ban from training on flesh crawlers in the barbarian village dungeon in f2p. and that account is still banned after 3 years. it was the start of a pure about 50cb just afk train for hours while playing other stuff.
So interestingly enough. Even if you actually did cheat, jagex has an automated appeal system. If it has been exactly 3 years plus to date on your accounts offense. You can appeal with an apology for a guaranteed unban. Gl and lmk how it goes!
The proliferation of better Botting tech is unfortunately becoming more and more of an issue. So many money makers for low level accounts just don't exist anymore because of bots driving the prices into the ground. The margins for many fun or profitable activities becomes nil in a matter of weeks, when they should last months. Really don't know how to solve this problem without significant changes to the membership process or the bot detection system.

I remember, when freshman worlds started, bought membership and walked to Catherby (pain in the ass with a lvl 3, no tabs around tho), did some fishing to level 6 and went to sleep. Woke up to a banned acc. So no more RS for me lol.

@@Karavusk No, different IP is more likely for RWT. Same IP is super safe, especially when trading items. Just looks like you are transferring items between alts to them.
on august 2021 my main with thousands of hours of gameplay got hacked and I wasn't able to get it back, after 10s of attempts to get it back I finally succeeded a month later only to find out it has been banned for rwt. still to this day I randomly appeal the ban but never got it back :(
I got banned a long time ago for repeatedly closing the door to lumbridge castle so people couldnt bank to tele back to edge and get their fire capes. I said things like "thou shall not pass" and was banned for password scamming, appeal denied.
I sniped 160 mithril pickaxes for 1 gp each and alc’d them for pure profit. It was on accident too, as I bought 1 for leveling that randomly sold for 1 gp. So on a hunch I put a buy order for 200 at 1 gp each and 160 popped overnight
I got banned on one of my alts that buys alchables off the ge and trades it to my main to resell. The ban was for Major macroing and ended up loosing my pmod status also. no luck on getting the account unbanned or my pmod status back sadly
62% of the "online players" are either bots or alts. I hate to be the one to say this but the game is dying and people have to let runescape go and stop wasting their money on the game. I've spent countless hours on the game. I literally played this game for over 10 years and for what? Some pixels that'll be worth nothing in the future. If anyone needed a sign this is it

I know of a way to get falsely perma banned. Just don't login for a year on your main account that you mainly just bandstand on to talk to a fc from rs3 while playing OSRS. I got my main banned that way, I hadn't played in a year and I decided to check out OSRS earlier this year to find out my account had been banned. I appealed it because I had an authenticator on the account and none of my information had been changed, I was told after the 3rd try that the decision stands as is and they removed the option for me to appeal it saying that if I tried to continue with any type of appeal that I'd be banned on all accounts. You gotta love how awful Jagex's customer service is, they went from pretty good back in the day to being one of the worst just like every other company with an MMO. Hell, one of the only ways to get unbanned most of the time is to post to Reddit in hopes it goes viral or Twitter, and if you don't use either of those then you're SOL because there is an extremely small chance that you'd even have your account checked out unless you stream.
speaking of bots cycling through worlds. the the actual law altar, I've seen skulled players who are basically sitting inside the altar, then switching worlds as soon as I popped in. Only way I saw that is because on a lark I decided to craft laws the old fashioned way. Dunno if it's like a PVP area, you know kill bots running to the altars or w/e, but its weird
I made a bunch of alts once and was multi logged getting them through the tutorial island and training them up at the same time. One account i went from lummy to behind the castle to chop trees. Click a tree and boom all of them banned. It's odd they banned the whole group like an IP blanket ban but none of my other accounts from before this on that same IP were banned. My idea behind these alts at the time we to have accounts spread in the wilderness to aid in pking. Basically accounts i could fish lobs on and cook them and transfer to my pk accounts as a quick deep wildy pit stop. I ended up making like another 10 to 15 accounts. This time being more careful not to chop trees and no bans.
I've found a good size Corp bot farm on World 358. About 20 bots teleporting in and out of Castle Wars. All got sus levels and all wielding Zammy Spear and all with crazy Corp KC
a ban ive had happen and the only explanation i have is the double click button on supermouse keys, used it for fletching shortly after jagex screwed with clicks and antidrag and said its toggleable everywhere except vanilla apparently. but i only used it for an hour and got a 2 day ban for macro was something i didnt download, and figured everybody has, maybe this was the secret to everybody bein so good???nope banned
Sounds to me like the player mod had a interaction with either a better or an account that was recently banned for botting. He got pulled into the mix.
Last week i made a fresh ironman account, only played for about an hour. Completed Tutorial Island and the Halloween event. Next day woke up to a macro ban... I've no idea why, i even tried appealing it but it was denied. I don't care about the account since it was brand new, the only thing i could figure is that the Halloween event was being heavily botted or something for the masks, but not sure 3:
To trigger false bans 100% of the time in my experience make a few f2p accounts and multi log them doing low intensity money makers like crafting gold or cooking. I did this when I started playing again after forgetting all my old login info and had to start fresh over the course of a week I had 7 out of 7 accounts banned and was only able to recover 3. all played myself completely legit playing 2-4 accounts at a time depending on intensity of f2p money makers
I'll play on my main doing ToA or something while splashing with 5-6 accounts at wizard tower because I'm building an army of 99 mage 10 hp accounts to kill botters in multi with and I've had every single one of them banned simultaneously at least twice now. I've appealed and all of my appeals were the exact same copy paste explaining that the accounts aren't botted, what I'm using them for, the name of all the accounts, the name of my main, etc. and only half of the appeals were approved. All of these accounts are 3-4+ years old (I quit and come back a lot), have membership any time they're played, it's absolutely infuriating to sink hundreds of hours and millions of gold into an account just to have it falsely banned. I'm like 99.9% certain that even the appeal a ban process at Jagex has been automated because any rational human being would have unbanned all of them.
Huge bot farm at Lava Dragons!!Every world atleast 1 bot, basic stats 1 pray 90+ def max mage and hp , with trident some of the names of the bots:Egr1,Tiko Rour,Fyel Hiur
I doubt they scripted the bot to ice barrage pkers. The person running the bot probably just checked in on it at the right time and took over controls.
These guys all over the wildy bosses. seen the same groups with my clan when we go pking. I found one bot with 28k callisto kc which is rank 6th and 2k vet'ion kc. This guy is programmed to hop when another playter comes in range of them so I was lucky to even attack the bot.
My guess is it would take many instances of trading over large sums of items with nothing in return to trigger rwt detection. Maybe that guy regularly trades for nothing with clanmates.
Trading for nothing with clanmates is something suspicious in itself. People shouldn't just accept things given freely, you might just be participating in an offloading scheme without your knowledge!
If you want a false rwt ban, create new alts, give them over 50m gp, even if you then play or use it for ge limits, you'll get permanent banned. I have 7 alts affected in 2021 losing 600m total, never got it back and appeals all auto denied at same time during night hours for UK time.
Yeah I had a nooby pure pker that had gotten banned for RWT back in 2017. I hopped over 20M worth of supplies to train it and the next day it had been banned. Appeal denied. 😂

i caught a false ban after spending a day collecting tinderboxes
at this point i have just accepted that runescape has long since past its glory days. not just because of all the bots but because of the direction jagex is taking the game. they spend more time on penny pinching than fixing the game. not as bad as new world but its getting there. runescapes benefit over new world is that it began with a solid foundation of a gaming experience.
I tried out this game, but noticed more than 50% of people were bots in f2p osrs. SAD. I quit right away

I'm convinced Jagex is supporting certain groups of bots. The bots stick out like a sore thumb, and Jagex doesn't do a darn thing. They don't even bother to stop spamming bots from repeating the exact same gold advertisement phrases over and over again. I mean, it would be simple to detect the same phrases or pattern of phrases being spammed one after another and add a time limit or temporary mute, but they don't even do that. Instead, real players are getting banned instead. There's even some account recovery loophole that botters are taking advantage of to regain or gain access to accounts that were previously banned or don't even belong to them (look it up). I just don't feel safe investing effort and time into this game anymore, and I've been around since what's now referred to as Runescape Classic.

what are you supposed to do if you have an account get hacked while your taking a long break. Then when you try to log back into it, it has been banned for botting? It was probably a legit ban, only problem is, you didnt have access to the account at that time.

My main was taken over by a bot farm while I was taking an extended break. I recovered it and it was on the front page of Callisto 32k kills!!, and had FIVE appealed macro bans. Jagex doesn't care.
This explains why voidwaker is going down the toilet too.

ive quit this game like 3 times now for false bans. most recent and enraging one was using my main to farm gargoyles semi afk in full guthans. it lived there, and used its gold to buy bonds for like 3 other accs. banned for rwt. but it only ever traded bonds to my other 3 accs.
How come the player mod gets unbanned from his false ban but my appeal was immediately denied? I lost my max iron just doing TOA a couple weeks back and Jagex has no customer support so i’ve just been wallowing in sadness.
Worst part is if you use the bots to get faster kills you'll get banned when you did nothing wrong.

i got a false ban from training on flesh crawlers in the barbarian village dungeon in f2p. and that account is still banned after 3 years. it was the start of a pure about 50cb just afk train for hours while playing other stuff.
So interestingly enough. Even if you actually did cheat, jagex has an automated appeal system. If it has been exactly 3 years plus to date on your accounts offense. You can appeal with an apology for a guaranteed unban. Gl and lmk how it goes!

The proliferation of better Botting tech is unfortunately becoming more and more of an issue. So many money makers for low level accounts just don't exist anymore because of bots driving the prices into the ground. The margins for many fun or profitable activities becomes nil in a matter of weeks, when they should last months. Really don't know how to solve this problem without significant changes to the membership process or the bot detection system.

I remember, when freshman worlds started, bought membership and walked to Catherby (pain in the ass with a lvl 3, no tabs around tho), did some fishing to level 6 and went to sleep. Woke up to a banned acc. So no more RS for me lol.

same IP is even more likely to get banned

@@Karavusk No, different IP is more likely for RWT. Same IP is super safe, especially when trading items. Just looks like you are transferring items between alts to them.

on august 2021 my main with thousands of hours of gameplay got hacked and I wasn't able to get it back, after 10s of attempts to get it back I finally succeeded a month later only to find out it has been banned for rwt. still to this day I randomly appeal the ban but never got it back :(

I got banned a long time ago for repeatedly closing the door to lumbridge castle so people couldnt bank to tele back to edge and get their fire capes. I said things like "thou shall not pass" and was banned for password scamming, appeal denied.
I sniped 160 mithril pickaxes for 1 gp each and alc’d them for pure profit. It was on accident too, as I bought 1 for leveling that randomly sold for 1 gp. So on a hunch I put a buy order for 200 at 1 gp each and 160 popped overnight
I got banned on one of my alts that buys alchables off the ge and trades it to my main to resell. The ban was for Major macroing and ended up loosing my pmod status also. no luck on getting the account unbanned or my pmod status back sadly

My low level f2p pure was falsely banned for killing Boneyard bots for big bones, and selling the loot. This happened about 4 years ago.
62% of the "online players" are either bots or alts. I hate to be the one to say this but the game is dying and people have to let runescape go and stop wasting their money on the game. I've spent countless hours on the game. I literally played this game for over 10 years and for what? Some pixels that'll be worth nothing in the future. If anyone needed a sign this is it

I know of a way to get falsely perma banned. Just don't login for a year on your main account that you mainly just bandstand on to talk to a fc from rs3 while playing OSRS. I got my main banned that way, I hadn't played in a year and I decided to check out OSRS earlier this year to find out my account had been banned. I appealed it because I had an authenticator on the account and none of my information had been changed, I was told after the 3rd try that the decision stands as is and they removed the option for me to appeal it saying that if I tried to continue with any type of appeal that I'd be banned on all accounts. You gotta love how awful Jagex's customer service is, they went from pretty good back in the day to being one of the worst just like every other company with an MMO. Hell, one of the only ways to get unbanned most of the time is to post to Reddit in hopes it goes viral or Twitter, and if you don't use either of those then you're SOL because there is an extremely small chance that you'd even have your account checked out unless you stream.
Used to love this game. I played over 10 years before I quit. But now it's sad to see it's overrunning with bots.

speaking of bots cycling through worlds. the the actual law altar, I've seen skulled players who are basically sitting inside the altar, then switching worlds as soon as I popped in. Only way I saw that is because on a lark I decided to craft laws the old fashioned way.
Dunno if it's like a PVP area, you know kill bots running to the altars or w/e, but its weird

I made a bunch of alts once and was multi logged getting them through the tutorial island and training them up at the same time.
One account i went from lummy to behind the castle to chop trees. Click a tree and boom all of them banned.
It's odd they banned the whole group like an IP blanket ban but none of my other accounts from before this on that same IP were banned.
My idea behind these alts at the time we to have accounts spread in the wilderness to aid in pking. Basically accounts i could fish lobs on and cook them and transfer to my pk accounts as a quick deep wildy pit stop.
I ended up making like another 10 to 15 accounts. This time being more careful not to chop trees and no bans.
Tons of bots at kurasks. Mid 90s combat level. Full obsidian, sometimes a mirror shield, today

I've found a good size Corp bot farm on World 358. About 20 bots teleporting in and out of Castle Wars. All got sus levels and all wielding Zammy Spear and all with crazy Corp KC
a ban ive had happen and the only explanation i have is the double click button on supermouse keys, used it for fletching shortly after jagex screwed with clicks and antidrag and said its toggleable everywhere except vanilla apparently. but i only used it for an hour and got a 2 day ban for macro

Sounds to me like the player mod had a interaction with either a better or an account that was recently banned for botting. He got pulled into the mix.
Last week i made a fresh ironman account, only played for about an hour. Completed Tutorial Island and the Halloween event. Next day woke up to a macro ban... I've no idea why, i even tried appealing it but it was denied.
I don't care about the account since it was brand new, the only thing i could figure is that the Halloween event was being heavily botted or something for the masks, but not sure 3:
To trigger false bans 100% of the time in my experience make a few f2p accounts and multi log them doing low intensity money makers like crafting gold or cooking. I did this when I started playing again after forgetting all my old login info and had to start fresh over the course of a week I had 7 out of 7 accounts banned and was only able to recover 3. all played myself completely legit playing 2-4 accounts at a time depending on intensity of f2p money makers
Jagex probably has your ip on a do not ban list

i got banned for trading tbow from my main to my zerker, and jagex basically said we dont care and kept the ban i appealed and they did nothing.
I think I remember seeing another content creator get banned for trying to use cox as a training method at a low lvl.

I'll play on my main doing ToA or something while splashing with 5-6 accounts at wizard tower because I'm building an army of 99 mage 10 hp accounts to kill botters in multi with and I've had every single one of them banned simultaneously at least twice now. I've appealed and all of my appeals were the exact same copy paste explaining that the accounts aren't botted, what I'm using them for, the name of all the accounts, the name of my main, etc. and only half of the appeals were approved. All of these accounts are 3-4+ years old (I quit and come back a lot), have membership any time they're played, it's absolutely infuriating to sink hundreds of hours and millions of gold into an account just to have it falsely banned. I'm like 99.9% certain that even the appeal a ban process at Jagex has been automated because any rational human being would have unbanned all of them.

I've heard about some false bans from pickpocketing elves, that's what I was going to do to 99 so now I'm kinda scared to go there
I doubt they scripted the bot to ice barrage pkers. The person running the bot probably just checked in on it at the right time and took over controls.

These guys all over the wildy bosses. seen the same groups with my clan when we go pking. I found one bot with 28k callisto kc which is rank 6th and 2k vet'ion kc. This guy is programmed to hop when another playter comes in range of them so I was lucky to even attack the bot.
My guess is it would take many instances of trading over large sums of items with nothing in return to trigger rwt detection. Maybe that guy regularly trades for nothing with clanmates.
Trading for nothing with clanmates is something suspicious in itself. People shouldn't just accept things given freely, you might just be participating in an offloading scheme without your knowledge!
If you want a false rwt ban, create new alts, give them over 50m gp, even if you then play or use it for ge limits, you'll get permanent banned. I have 7 alts affected in 2021 losing 600m total, never got it back and appeals all auto denied at same time during night hours for UK time.
Yeah I had a nooby pure pker that had gotten banned for RWT back in 2017. I hopped over 20M worth of supplies to train it and the next day it had been banned. Appeal denied. 😂
