- On October 15th, 2009, American TV viewers had their daytime programming interrupted by a shocking breaking news story - a 6-year-old boy from Fort Collins, Colorado, was sailing through the air in a runaway flying saucer balloon. TV audiences watched for 90 minutes as the silver balloon whizzed past homes and power lines before landing in a field. But when first responders opened the balloon, the boy was not inside. I still am disturbed by the fact that Falcon was so nervous/upset in that interview that he threw up. The most likely reason I can see is that he is truly afraid of what his father will do if he doesn't go along with the lie, even just by accident. It was the boy, himself, who seemingly revealed the hoax without even realizing it. I was honestly scared for him after he did so.

At time stamp 42:51 Falcon explains what actually happened "I was scared cause he yelled at me and I hide in the attic and I heard them shouting (his name) but I didn't want to come out really soon or else he would yell at me, I thought I'd get in trouble." Then Richard tries to cover it up by saying "yeah, I yelled at him for going inside of it" (the balloon)
I feel so bad for his wife. He clearly took advantage of the fact that Japanese family fall into stereotypical gender roles. And I just feel so bad she did whatever he requested her to do. Poor thing must’ve been exhausted by his bull crap.
idk Richard seems crazy but I don't think he wants to hurt his family, his kids are still at home and his wife is still with him, so that accounts for something I think.

I am so glad that someone is speaking up for the children in foster care who age out "the lost causes". The other thing, a lot of people don't realize is most foster children are not there because they're misbehaved, but because their parents sucked. I'm one of the lucky ones who was too stubborn then was going to prove a point that we don't all end up that way. Adopted my brothers kids through the yrs.
Those statistics truly shocked me. It's heartbreaking that so many kids have been spat out of the system only to go on to experience harsher things.

I can't have bio kids, so my wish for my adult life is to "adopt" or just be a safe home, for foster kids who are close to aging out. Somewhere to call home, where they can gain their independence and have a person to come "home to" for Christmas. One of my best friends in high school was a Foster kid, who I drove to school every day, And he made a huge impact on my life. And I really just want to be that impact on someone else's.
This is such an important cause and needs to be talked about more!
Wait, that's not what people think? I only ever knew foster kids whose parents couldn't care for them. I thought it was almost 100% kids whose parents weren't able to take care of them. I didn't even know people thought it was the other way around.

I literally JUST watched the episode of Wife Swap with this family and it doesn't surprise that this happened at all. Richard was f'ing crazy on that show. The way that he yelled at the swapped wives was AWFUL and it made me think "If this is how he treats strangers in front of a national audience, then how does he treat his wife in private?" I actually remember seeing this on the news as a kid and feeling so scared for the boy inside.
I remember this! My mama said it never made sense. His parents should have felt horrible about this. I'm can't wait for this episode. I had to wait until until I could watch Uninterrupted. Thank you for the all of your hard work on your videos.

I think Falcon threw up because maybe they gave him some sleeping medicine for him to be asleep in the attic for so many hours. He was in the attic for HOURS and was asleep in a box the whole time. Kids don't sleep that long without needing to get up to eat or use the bathroom. If that's what happened, then his parents are even worse that we thought.

We lived about 20 minutes from Fort Collins when this happened. Our house literally across the street from a wheat field. We started watching the "UFO" coverage on the news but ran to our back porch when we saw all of the police cars speeding by with their sirens on. What a crazy case man.
