Nice review. I have about 100 dives on an S-Tek with the Pro harness and I love the system. I’ll slightly contradict one thing you said: With the Pro model as personal gear, I actually do find myself adjusting the straps every time I dive. It’s so easy to loosen and tighten that it makes it much easier to take the equipment on and off. No awkward contortions required to slide your arms in there. Altogether it’s a great design.
so i just got the S-Tek pure system. the problem is that i dive in very cold water. i have a 7mm full wet suit and now i am going to a dry suit with thick undergarments. what about weight pockets? do i just do the trim pockets on the back of the plate or what do you use for the waist belt?
No don't use a weight belt. They make weight pockets that attach to the backplate and along your belt. I don't know why they don't come with them but you have to get some
Thank you for the review. Do you use the adjustable shoulder strap version in your rental/training equipment fleet? Also, what wing size do you use, the 30 or 40 wing for recreational diver training? I am contemplating using these in place of the jackets I have to bring down the number of bc's I have for training. Like you said, you need 20 jacket bc's to run 6-student courses to make sure that you have all appropriate sizes for all students.
You can purchase the SCUBAPRO S-Tek Pure Harness here: amzn.to/3XKsZfM

Yes to the adjustable straps. That's the point in replacing other sizes. The do uts are 30lbs.
I am a big guy and use the 30 wing without a problem for single take AL or steel tanks. I love the system.

The 30 lb is too small for using steel 18L tanks people use in my region.
