Just hunted her and put her in thick game areas. We started her on coon just because that’s what she treed first, then just hunted her in the daytime and killed her some squirrel. She was really natural
Great video, thinking about getting a walker for squirrel hunting. How do walkers compare to curs? Are they close? Any problems with a walker ranging too far?
Every individual dog is different. It’s all personal preference in what you’d rather have. Both curs and walkers can make excellent squirrel dogs. I’ve had curs go 1000 yards and walkers go 50 to both tree squirrel. All curs don’t hunt close, all walkers don’t hunt far. Just depends on breeding, training, terrain, and squirrel populations.
@@stark_outdoors I’ve seen a few but need to check out more. This is the first season hunting with my cur dog. Watching these videos makes me want to film myself but just seems like way too much work when I’m by myself most times.
Good sounding hound
Fine looking hound feller . Loving
the color.
Thank you, me too.
Really enjoyed this video! Nice looking walker
Thank you and thanks for checking out the video. Got plenty more older ones of her doing both coon and squirrel on my channel.
I enjoy this how did you go
About training him ? Never had a hound for squirrels we always used curs and feist , always had hounds for fox and coyote

Does walker bark on trail or only when treeing?

Yeah, shes the best female coon dog I've hunted. I've got older videos of her on my channel as well.
