I just hold them within my thumb and fingers as shown in video… I have habit now… You can cello tape their first ends by placing your wires close to each other and start weaving… as soon as you are comfortable with weaving( means how much weaving wire should be tight or loose while weaving).. you will no longer need cello tape… I also practiced that way!

You can even use wire clamps to hold the wire together @@tamrajewelries
