I think this line puts all of the rumours regarding RP not working out, being lazy, emo and hard to work with to rest. The nocturnal animal is one of the themes of Batman's story in this movie - it was done on purpose. They are trying to portray a character who has become so consumed with hate and depression that he makes many unhealthy choices. He doesn't sleep. He doesn't socialize. He's always distracted. He doesn't eat. He's a skeleton. He's got bags under his eyes. He just looks downright sad. Throughout the movie, we see him redeem himself and give way to hope. I really really liked this transformation.
In fiction writing, there's a school of thought that the writer needs to grab the reader's attention as early as possible. It's so good that it doesn't doesn't jump out as how good it actually is. You have to let it soak And then you realize this fucking movie is awesome
Thursday, October 31st
The city streets are crowded for the holiday
Even with the rain
Hidden in the chaos, is the element, waiting to strike like snakes
But I’m there too
Watching
Two years of nights, have turned me into a nocturnal animal
I must choose my targets carefully
It’s a big city; I can’t be everywhere
But they don’t know where I am
We have a signal now, for when I’m needed
But when that light hits the sky, it’s not just a call. It’s a warning…
To them
Fear… Is a tool
They think I’m hiding in the shadows
But I am the shadows
This opening monologue is my favorite song
“Hidden in the chaos is…. The element… waiting to strike… but im there too”….. yassssssssssssss!!!
chills!!!
Didn't love this movie like everyone else seems to, but man this scene and the monologue are perfection
I like listening to this at the gym. You know for motivation. Lol.
