Such a brilliant film. This ending monologue is completely impeccable, setting up the next movie while defining what his goals will become as Batman and his transformation to vengeance to hope. A character transformation we haven't seen in any other Batman film (asides from the Lego Batman Movie, naturally). And Matt Reeves' vision of Gotham is perfect, embodying a city hurt by corruption but still trying, paying homage to other interpretations of Gotham and portraying a truly inspired, comic-accurate one. This vision--with the epic cinematography and lighting, and the sick Nirvana music which is so Batman--speak Gotham to me, this is what i picture. The Batman is not just vengeance anymore, he's more.
I have to admit, of all the live-action Batman films that have appeared and will appear, Robert Pattison's Batman was the one that most made me feel like I was watching the animated films of Batman Anomated Series and The Batman 2004 were very nostalgic, even though many didn't like them, I loved them. Even though Part 2 has unfortunately been postponed, I'll be eagerly awaiting it and I'm still looking forward to the Penguin series.

I desperately hope this movie gets a sequel. This was easily one of my favorite Batman movies and it offers so much character growth that I think a lot of the other stories neglect
Robert did a great job on Batman, I was unsure if he would do a good job but I was wrong. He nailed the character so good.

Greatest Batman scene ever
Its very good. Just not as good as the Dark Knight ending. Gordon and Batman’s speeches at the end of that film are obviously where this film gets its que from. Pattison does the character justice. He was a good choice.

The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and Batman v Superman all had better ending monologues, but this one is still really good.

This cinematography should be combined with Nolan's storytelling and dialogue writing. Wish this could happen for the this batman trilogy.

Im in the minority on this but here goes. To me the only good things about this movie are the cinematography is AMAZING, The upside-down shot in the rain 👌, Colin Ferrell Penguin's performance is great, the make-up on Penguin deserved an Oscar, and Gotham for once looked dreary like Gotham is supposed to be. Everything else is mediocre at best.

That part about scars doesn't make any sense. Physical, figurative or emotional scars can't transform you, they are just the reminders of the damage you lived through. It's like that stupid line "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" no sometimes what doesn't kill you leaves you crippled or traumatized. The music is emotional and uplifting though.
