This video demonstrates how a power drill can be used to manually adjust a power seat that will not go forward or back. You can also use a 1\4" drive ratchet and a square bit socket, however, the adjustment will be much slower. The vehicle in this video was a 1998 Chevy Blazer with power seats, but the process will be the same or similar on many other vehicles including Jimmy, S10 pickups, Sierras, Silverados and many others

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for posting this video. I was just able to move the seat on my mom's old Jimmy that was stuck. I have zero auto mechanic training so your video gave me everything I needed. God bless.
Just wanted to say 2024 here and thanks for the video. Having to do this to mine the seat is stuck back and I can't get my dead battery out. I appreciate your help! Ty!
It works...just had to remove the motor. Thanks for the upload!
I can confirm this will work with 99-02 silverado seats! I just did it on a 2002 silverado with ease! And if that's the case it will work with yukons, tahoe's, suburbans and many more! GREAT VIDEO!
Dude this video saved my ass! Was trying to find a new seat at a junkyard but they want more then the trucks worth! I frickin love UA-cam 😍😂
Great video! This saved me big time when my 2011 Nissan Titan driver’s seat got stuck all the way forward 😂 Thank you sir!
Is there a Part 1 because you are not showing where this is located or how to get to it.
Bro it's common sence 😂
After struggling with the seat for a week I decided to try your method of using the flexible cord under the seat and bingo! my problem was solved.
Thanks mahn still helping in 2023
Great video. Could not remove my seat for repair and you saved me many $$$!
Does this method work in a 2001 Chevy Suburban driver seat
I need help!! Chevy sliverado here that manually reclines forward or back and windows are manual as well. Seat is stuck forward and the lever isnt doing anything.
Mine goes forward and backwards .
I need to raise the seat up
But if the forward/ reverse quits this will help. 😎👍🏼
Odd question. Hiw high does a typical power seat raise you up? I habe a silverado and Contemplating on doing an electric conversion or just getting blocks for the seats that raise it up in inch and a half. Just curious if anybody had the speck on how much power seats typically raise you From bottom out to top out
How do you do it in an 08 chevy suburban...my recline up doesn't work
how do you make the bottom go down like it's supposed to? I'm having that problem in a 04 escalade drivers side
Just spin the rod coming out the back with a drill! I used a nut extractor for stripped out nut moved easy
Great info and camera looks, thank you.
This works for any car?
Hi Mark! I wonder if this can also be done to a 2000 Buick LeSabre? Thanks in advance.:)
How did you remove the motor without removing seat? Or breaking anything?
My motor clicks when using switch, but no movement. It is alllll the way back also so can't remove rear bolts.
Where you have to put it
Would this work on a 2014 Chevy captiva sport? My driver seat top went straight back and the fuse pops every time I put one in
This was really helpful thanks.
what about tilting the seat?
Thts my problem
Did he ever answer you i have the same.problem
My daughter has a 2012 avalanche and the seat will not tilt or raise up or down, this video only moves seat back and forth. The issue you are having is a whole separate matter, two motors Run each function, typically it's a plastic cog that is mangled up and needs replaced with a brass after market one.
Depends on the make and year. A bear to get to, she takes the seat loose and tilts it back to get to the gear housing and cuts off plastic cog then JB welds the brass cog in place.
I read a comment a guy just manhandled the seat by lifting it into place and left it there.
Adheres the spot to put drill bit
Will this work on a 2010 Silverado
How do you get to it? I can’t see the first video
thank you very much sir!!!!
Does this work for the recline part as well?
My question as well
what the name of the bar on the bottom of your seat to make it go back and forth cuz i need to find one
U can use jumper cables
How to move seat up or down?????
What about the one to recline and decline? Mines a 2002 chevy avalanche
Same
Does this work on 2003 Nissan Altima?
Similar issue but mine wont recline up or down
I have a 2007 yukon, the drivers seat is all the way back and the side next to the console wont move, when I use the button to slide forward just the outside moves. Any help with this? I would appreciate it, cant find this issue anywhere?
I know this was 2 years ago but I have an 07 Yukon and my driver seat closest to the door won’t move what I did was I used pliers and spun the screw rod from the back (u gotta go through the back door and pretty much kneel on the ground) I had someone use the button to move it a bit at a time, just done this over and over until we got it to where it could be driven comfortably. You will see the screw rod I’m talking about if you move the seat while you’re behind it looking cuz the one side that’s still working will be spinning.
Anybody know what the shaft size is? Or better yet where to get a new shaft?
would this work on a trailblazer?
Does it work for a 199 gmc Sierra
Can someone tell me if in general you are able to connect electric seats to 12V (battery) and adjust it ? Maybe certain brands work like that ?
I want to get an electric car seat and make it an office chair.
Yes
How do i know if the motor is dead?
does this work for a 05 infiniti?
Hey men do you fix me seat no working
I have a GMC Terrain someone please help
Now HOW THE HECK do I get the motor assembly back together!!!
i really hate all the electronic bullshit they put in cars
Read more I am not sure if I have a battery problem or other "electrical gremlin" issue. I drive a 2005 GMC Sierra VHO 6.0L Performance Edition. In January 21, 2012, I purchased the Interstate battery (34/78DT - Mega Tron Plus), it has a 85-month life warranty rating - that is 7 years and one month. I am in the 6th of the battery's specified lifespan and if I recall correctly the recent battery test at a auto parts store rated my battery at either 400 or 425. In my amateur attempt to troubleshoot I learned more than I thought I could learn about auto electrical systems: I wonder if I replace the 30A Circuit Breaker (GM #12077863) [approximately $10.00 to $20.00 from either GM Parts net website or Sears] if it will resolve my driver's power seat? The switch is in a state of unreliability because if I attempt to move the seat forward, the seat will move backwards and vice-versa. I pulled the circuit breaker and after about a minute, I reinserted the circuit breaker and the seat functioned properly, but a few days later when I needed to move the seat backwards it moved forward. I have also read that it could be a faulty control switch in the seat, which costs $92.00 + at most local auto parts stores. In summary, I am trying to solve the power seat problem at the lowest cost due to major financial constraints!Read more Show less Show less
We don't see the seat moving it's not showing anything this video .very unclear ...
Are you blind?
Blocked view. Not zoomed put ever. Useless. But thanks for trying to help.
Fucking seat didn’t even move!😂
Does this work for a 2004 Chevy Malibu maxx LT?
