There is nothing I love more than tutorials who show us we are humans making many errors along the way... It looks amazing. I seriously think of doing one myself.
Right on - Thank you! That's exactly what I was going for... I remember being a beginner and learning to correct mistakes is part of that growth - my hope is that by showing my errors and how I fixed them that a newbie won't be as intimidated as I was.
We love watching this kind of videos from the Wicked community, we love to learn together!!!! Thanks for the awesome tips, Cyclops is looking BAD ASS!
Super beaty bro!
Seriously good video.
Though the background music, with all the popping, does get a little bit annoying about 5 minutes in. Definitely would not have complained if that changed up to something different every now and then.
That said, really love seeing both the mistakes and how you fixed them and everything. That is seriously great work! Keep it up :D
appreciate the feedback - I'm still working out producing videos and mixing audio... I'll keep this in mind for the next one!
@@statue_forgeI agree with the music. Music in general isn't bad, but the popping was loud and very repetitious. I look forward to more videos though!
I understand your frustration on the jacket zipper breaking...I feel the same way everytime I break the claws on Wolverine prints.
lol I can only imagine... until I print my own Wolvie that is ;)
👍👍👍 Thanks for sharing.
I've never used clear resin myself, but I have read a few different places that curing clear parts in water greatly helps prevent the yellowing, having to do with the amount of oxygen in water vs open air.
Interesting - I’ll have to look into that… Thanks!
Very nice!
Thank you!
The GOAT🐐🔥
You tore that up 🔥
lol - thanks!
amazing!! 🔥🔥
Appreciate the support!
@@statue_forge looking forward to see the next one 😎
Oh sick, this is the one im printing now, very cool to see the outcome of the orange (mistake) you made, because that's exactly what I was going to do.... lol, I wanted to go for a darker yellow instead of that bright yellow, but after looking at this, I may just stick with the original yellow color.... thanks for the video, let me know if you happen to do the Archangel
right on - I love knowing that I helped... at least I saved you from spending a couple hours going in the wrong direction! I did some research and using a pink-ish base color instead of orange should give you a better shadow effect - hope that helps! :)
Where did you get that miniature holder, never seen one like that! (Also, amazing work on Cyclops, i could never do skin that well!)
Thanks man! And thanks for reminding me I should have put a link to it in the description… it’s a ball vise, and it’s fantastic: DZQ Ball Vise 3" Engraving... www.amazon.com/dp/B0C5SJ1LXB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Very impressive! I want to do some work with LEDs but I’m a little apprehensive.
I was too for a long time… but just go for it! It’s super simple and if you’re anything like me, you’re just overthinking it… and you’ll regret having not tried it sooner. 😁
Do you have any guidance on LEDs? Good videos to watch or what to buy? Here you had LEDs, wires, and a a battery pack - did they come pre wired, or did you have to solder?@@statue_forge
Wow amazing work. The only thing I would suggest. When you come across something like the zipper thing again then sent it aside. Then when you are done. Ask yourself, is it really worth it? Are you even going to notice it when you place it in it's final location? Then save yourself the extra frustration and let it go. You do commission leave work. You are an artist and you do great work. Congratulations on your final work.
Thank you for the feedback and compliments!
Great video
Thanks!
I feel your pain on problems as you go, so many little broken parts and paints that didn't do what I thought they were going to do....came out great in the end
Thank you! I was tempted to cut all that out, but I thought: No... this might help a beginner see that it's not always a smooth road to the finish.
Very nice job! This is why I never glue anything until I'm 100% done lol. Also, what resin do you use for printing? Seems a bit fragile.
Thanks! - I use Anycubic Eco resin... it's not overly fragile, I was just ham-fisted with this build lol. I should have moved more cautiously... those zipper pulls were REALLY tiny - but such a cool detail
i wonder why they didnt move the seam at the neck down to where it can be "naturally hidden". that belt collar would have worked perfect
Right?!? That would have been so much better
How do you get your parts to fit so neatly?
lol - a whole lot of sanding... OH and trimming the keys down a little - I've found that the resin swells a bit in the keyholes, so trimming down the keys prevents them from hitting the bottom. Hope that helps!
Did you print the laserbeam in a clear red resin? I'm printing in PLA, since I don't own a resin printer, and at the moment I only have clear PLA, not red lol, so well see how that comes out.... any advice?
I printed it with Anycubic Clear resin and then used alcohol ink to tint - I'd imagine the same technique would work on any clear-ish material though
@@statue_forge ah ok, alcohol ink, interesting.... I've never used that before, I'll have to look into it, thanks.
Is it normal to have such large gaps where the pieces fit together with resin printing? Is that possible to be fixed before printing in order to prevent such large gaps?
yes, the gaps can be mitigated some depending on the print orientation... I tend to print the flat sides down so that the visible surface doesn't have as many support marks to sand - but that leads to a bit more pull and warping sometimes where the flat edges meet. I'd rather fix a flat edge than have to try to fix details - though in this case, it was a bit of both. Hope that helps!
what purple did you use? looks like tamiya ink almost
I used pearlized purple from Createx - hope that helps!
@statue_forge awesome thanks! Saw that they were selling it gumroad without the laser fx is that a patreon special or did u custom make em?
at the very least export your vids as 1080p? idk... 720 just looks bad in my screen unfortunately. but well done on the painting I like it.
Thanks for the feedback - my latest video (Lobo) is 1080p… looks much better - hope you enjoy!
gambito pleace
Gambit is on my list - coming soon!
you have got to remove this bloody annoying BGM....
Yeah… working on that. Next video will be better - stay tuned!
You painted Conan O’Brien’s hair the wrong color.
Lol
