I applied these knot to my Baitcasting rod, easy, smooth and strong. Thank you OceanAnglerTv 👍👍👍
Great to hear. Thanks for the feedback
By far the easiest way to tie the fg knot. Thanks
i just discovered this knot and I really like the way you tie it vs. others who need to hold the line in their mouth.Excellent job on the finishing.
Im going to need to watch the finish a few times to get that portion down.
Big thumbs up!! Amazing coverage on one of the best connects by the hands of a true fisherman, long live the shop!
That was by far the best video I've seen on how to tie the FG knot. I also love how you tie the whip finish or nail knot without any hardware. Thank you.
That 7 turn whip finish is called the Rizzuto Finish and is excellent finisher!
Great to hear Randy
Nice knot and presentation!!!!!
Best video showing how to do FG knot, best of all, thanks
Best demo out there. Way to go team
Nice... I've been using the fg knot for a while now and for me it's the only way to tie braid to mono of any size... What I really like about your know is the finish and how you unwind/wind the last knot over .. Awesome
I like the FG fishing knot. You tired and make it look very easy I need to learn that method. I find it much easier to tie the Albright knot. Which I believe is just as good if tied properly. But I do like your method on the f g and I will learn it. Thank you for sharing.
nice i learned something today add more half hitches on my fg i was only doing five. He does like ten plus another wrapped hitch on top if that. Talk about security and peace of mind while 🐟
Excellent video for tying this knot great camera view and explanation
Love the finishing
That was awesome! Great instruction and video. Great job. Thanks!

Sweet. Thank you.
Awesome useful!! great vid, thx!
Thanks heaps!
this is the best knot
best knot ever,I hope I can get it right.
Shot! Well video'd tutorial!
Been doing the FG for a while but how you finish the knot is fantastic. I'm sure that'll run through the guides very easily. Best part I see is how you finish it off after the half hitches, that's something for me to try now. Do you know how strong is the FG is and at roughly what the breaking strain would be? Does the braid retain it's strength at the knot?
The double uni knot it's strong and the line can slip out because the knots stop each other... but the knot is a bit thicker than I like, but so far it hasn't been that bad.. to give you an idea of what I use.. my main line is 100lb braid then for the leader I have 60lb mono
Craziest knots I've ever seen tied
subscribe just from this. was sold on this channel
That's so encouraging to hear +zosophnkey ! We've got a lot more content in the pipeline
👏 so good
Nice info thanks
Nice post
I have noticed that there is still a ton of space in between twists of each braid. I have been able to push the braid closer/tighter, but that kind of loosens its grip on the monofilament leader. I was worried that if I retrieved my line all the way through my guides and cast again, would the guides eventually push those braided lines closer/tighter together which will loosen the grip on the mono?
TQ SO MUCH👍
is this knot strong enough to join braid to mono leader to fish for tuna? popping for tuna to be specific.thanks for the video mate
why would you put mono on braid for tuna? just use the braid, trust me, it'll be fine.
guess someone hasnt seen the inside of a tunas mouth lol. braid will cut in a heartbeat. i mean ladyfish "skipjack" has cut my braid before after just one or two of them, and you can hold them by the lip without a worry for your fingers.
düğümün kaç kg. lık çekeri var yada kaç kg. balık çekiyorsunuz.
hey i was just wondering why everyone is using such a thick leader. isnt it stronger than your braid? the leader i am using is thinner than the braid which makes it really hard to tie the knot. but if you take leaders like that where is the line cracking when you got a big fish. it feels like the leader is stronger than the braid which would mean braid could crack on like 40 mtrs or something or am i wrong?
Will That work for mono to mono bud? Or is that a braid to mono only knot?
Dy the time you finished that, I've tied a quick FG with a couple of hitches and landed 3 barras.
great knot... but sucks when you have to change leader out in the surf in a pair of waders :D
Good👍👍
it seems that the mono is kept on place by friction only, i.e., wouldn't it slip right in between these twists, since there is no knot on its end to prevent slipping
momo8800 negative, the twists the does at the begining are what constricts aroung the leader as tension is applied. its like a chinese finger trap
I was thinking the same the same I wouldn't use that knot were I live the snags would pull the mono straight out.
Great!!! (y)
How long should we leave the leader knot?
u guys have cts rods at your shop?
And when you're done your kindergartener has graduated high school
does this work with fluorocarbon as well?
It does & the low profile of the knot is really great for casting
Rohweder, 50lbs. Braid is thinner than 50lbs. Mono. And what you taking about line cracking? But this knot seems it would slip.
♥ it
OMFG I can't get the first portion of this knot.
👍
don't you have to cinch the two lines tight after tying the half hitches
1:45 At that point you really shoult pull hard so the braid sinks down in to the mono slightly.
I agree and this is the main culprit why this FG Knot fails. Every 6 twists of braid onto the mono I cinch those wraps down tight, then continue with another 6 twists and so on. After the first half hitch, grab a pair of dowels and wrap the mono on one and mainline braid onto the other and with increasing pulling in opposite directions cinch down those braid wraps even further. The braided wraps should turn a darker color and this is where and when the braid bites into the mono/floro. NOW this FG is the most secure it will ever be!! Continue doing the alternate half hitches and finish with the 7 whip Rizzuto finish at the end. The FG Knot is now complete and will not fail.
I'm sorry I fell asleep can u go it again
didn't work on my braid ...
:(
my flouro leader slips from the braod
I'm sure the fg knot is strong, I'm just not a fan of half hitches
Vincent Foti just watch all the jigging and popping videos on UA-cam all of them are using fg knot
Except for the pr knot
Nice vid and presentation, but this knot is not for me. I want to catch a fish before you finish that knot. Double-uni or Alberto, haven't been let down yet and they are fairly quick to do.
D800Lover good on you, got to do what works best for you
@@OceanAnglerTV Thanks for the reply.
far more complex
Thsi is a fg knot
NOT CLEAR CANT SEE PROPERLY
Not the quickest way.
5 minutes? No, thanks!
Emmanuel lol ..you wont break it though bud??
How long should the leader be?
I have noticed that there is still a ton of space in between twists of each braid. I have been able to push the braid closer/tighter, but that kind of loosens its grip on the monofilament leader.
