When Oscar shifted from Marc to Steven in the scene with the car mirror I love his subtle changes in facial features. Master performance and so seamless.
The story itself was pretty rushed (only so much you can do when all you have is 6 episodes) but I always say this show is worth watching for Oscar Isaac's performance alone. I always knew he was great but that one scene was perfect, so simple yet so difficult to get right
it’s my favorite part of the series! the way his brow softens, his jaw unclenches, and he gets the almost “doe-eyed” look! it’s incredible and Oscar Isaac is a masterful actor 🙌
They're going stereotypical with Marc's sides because they're staying realistic with the specific mental health condition. :) Altars of people with multiple personality disorder are very often "stereotypical" because they've come out for a specific reason. Many experts have praised this series for staying as realistic and respectful as can be, while still being able to put a spin on things.

'Multiple personality disorder' is an outdated term and doesn't encapsulate what the disorder actually is. I think it's awesome what you did in explaining the reasoning behind Marc's character in your comment. It helps people who are not in the known of this specific disorder to better understand his character, the series, and the disorder at large. Really great work 🫶
F. Murray Abraham did an amazing job at voicing Khonshu. He's an asshole most of the time but when he says "I remember every night" there's so much pain there, one simple line. Dude killed it
Sadly the actor playing Mogart, Frenchman Gaspard Ulliel, passed away at the age of 37 due to a terrible ski accident in 2022. Anton Mogart was his last role. RIP.
Just want to say that the community of people with specific mental health conditions have largely praised Oscar Isaac’s performance and how his condition was represented on the show, understanding that the show had to give a visual representation to his “switch.” You’ll find out why even more in upcoming episodes.

Yeah every ep has lil snippets. It's awesome. I don't wanna say anything else til last ep cause don't wanna spoil, but the date thing u mentioned for me at least was an easy clue. And add that into Marc's personality & it was like oh yeah there's gotta be another.

pointing out some stuff that you guys "nitpicked". 1) Marc's 'stereotypical' trait of bad boy apparently is common among the community of that particular mental illness, because that personality appears for a specific reason. 2) the Egyptian gods, at least in this series are not omniscient. like Khonshu said, the gods abandoned humanity and only wander on earth through their Avatars, and as you see, the Avatars aside from Marc and Arthur are mostly sheltered, thus limiting the gods' perspective on the world. One might even say the gods have gotten arrogant to think there'd be such a 'conspiracy' against them, which separates Khonshu from the rest, being god of the moon that witnesses sins committed at nights. This gives more meaning to Khonshu's somber voice when he said "I remember that night. I remember every night".
Mark & Steven switching in the desert with the side mirror is one of my favorite scenes. Oscar is so talented. RIP Gaspard Ulliel. It was a pleasant surprise to have him in the show. Gone too soon
I feel like the third badass personality 'jake lockely' is the one that does the killings..I think he takes over during the switch.. I hope we get to see him more in season 2.
The way i see it, Harrow knows how the egyptians gods operate, about only doing something AFTER the deed is done and they are arrogant enough that they don't believe the threat that is searching for Ammit, they only operate when the threat againts them is real and Harrow is taking advantage of that. Doesn't help that the only one doing something about it, Khonshu, is basically the outsider of the group that nobody trust.
The greatest strength of the marvel universe (comics) is that THERE ARE soooooo many great characters to speak to so many readers/fans. After developing a level of trust with movie audience via successes in much around mainstream favorites they started to introduce other characters with smaller but solid fan bases, however it is running into the greatest weakness of most IP, toxic fandom.
There is a portion of fandoms that refuse to explore beyond spoon fed pap to support characters meant for other fans because they already got what they want they screw everyone else. Sadly the fans of other characters are forced to support the mainstream characters that speak less to them in hopes that their favorites appear in smaller roles or can be introduced later. Wish there was more solidarity among the mainstream fandom, they may discover more characters to love. Not every character is for every fan, but Marvel has gone long way to create characters for everyone. Fans please remember you are not the only fans.

this series just becomes better each episode! also, as someone who loves learning about psychology and egyptian gods, this series just scratches my brain in the best way possible
Something I just realized through y’all’s reaction is how unfair it seems when the council won’t heed Mark’s warning and we say how it’s silly or counterintuitive that they have to wait until Ethan Hawke has to commit a crime first to be punished or stopped. BUT we see Ethan Hawke’s character as a lunatic for pre-judging people before they commit a crime, we see him as being in the wrong. That’s GREAT IRONY that I haven’t seen anyone talk about in other reactions.

32:15 that scene with the gods *is* frustrating (and it's meant to be obviously) but people forget that most gods in polytheism aren't omniscient, they have their specialty. Also they were said to be aloof even before we met them (harrow said it in episode 1). And a blink and you miss it reference: in that scene Khonshu accuse them of staying in the safety of the Overvoid. The Overvoid is the alternate dimension the Egyptian gods are in in the comics. So the gods, except for Khonshu, weren't even on earth. It's like they were having a zoom meeting between dimensions. And another thing for that scene that I find important: Harrow was able to divert their attention to Marc's mental health issue and undermining his credibility because of it, which is a problem that happens often in real courts.
37:43 that's one where if you know the comics, you knew where it was going. Since Layla took the place of Marc's main love interest in the comics (and thus her story). I loved that they didn’t change (much) the origin story of how he became Moon Knight in the comics, since it’s a cool and perfectly suitable one. What they did change from the comics though, is the origin story of how they got DID (that you will see in next episode!) That one definitely needed to be changed, because their DID backstory in the comics is bad and inaccurate to how it happens in real life. They made it way more realistic here which is great. So the people who read the comics knew the response to the first mystery but not the 2nd one. So it kept everyone guessing/engaged! Great job on their part!
The gods are dismissive, but you gotta take into account that first off, they do not like Khonshu, and he has a history as a known manipulator. And second, they're giving the human he had previous victimized the benefit of the doubt. Khonshu had to give them some very hard evidence to convince them, and he ...didn't.

Oaks point about new character in movies vs. t.v is absolutely correct. One example is Buffy the vampire slayer, although I’m one of the few that love that movie, it didn’t do well. Then they made the show and it did amazingly well.
One thing the show didn't capture is how Moon Knight uses his reputation as brutal and violent in fights. He doesn't need to fight to get information most of the time.

You know. Marc was highly trained former United States Marine and mercenary so he can hold his own even without the suit. As for Steven, (since he is an alter personality but the same person with all the strength) he too can fight but he need to believe that he can. But nonetheless, Oscar Issac's acting is very imoressive.

Guys, have you considered reacting to Agents of SHIELD yet? It's milion times better than any Disney+ shows Marvel has to offer and it has ratings above 90% (because it's that good). I can't handle how much you're missing out. :( AoS is even better than entirety of MCU. You just fall in love with every single character.
The main issue with this series is how short it is. It really could have used a couple more episodes to flesh out some of these scenes. This episode especially feels rushed. Like, for exemple, I'm sure Harrow has a way to hide the tattoo on his wrist. So they could have taken the time in the trial to have Mark demand Harrow show his wrist, only for the tattoo to be absent, which would make Mark seem even more unstable. As it is, not even asking to show it feels like a plot hole. Love the series, otherwise.

The main issue with this series is how short it is. It really could have used a couple more episodes to flesh out some of these scenes. This episode especially feels rushed.
Like, for exemple, I'm sure Harrow has a way to hide the tattoo on his wrist. So they could have taken the time in the trial to have Mark demand Harrow show his wrist, only for the tattoo to be absent, which would make Mark seem even more unstable. As it is, not even asking to show it feels like a plot hole.
Love the series, otherwise.

Guardians of the Galaxy was as obscure as Moon Knight, but they made it work. There are many superheroes that could make good films, if the writers and directors are good enough.
