Thanks! Right now I use a super old Roland UA-22 Duo-Capture EX USB Audio Interface (I bought it when I worked at the music store, and I haven't been there for almost 9 years. So probably 10 or so years old).
I plug direct into audacity. I always tweak the compression once done to the get the signal hotter, then download the track and lay it overtop. Then I hit the mix and render button and export. I play to the track on youtube or chordify and synch them up.
The biggest pain is synching the recorded and mixed audio into movie maker with the bass. The part where you chunk out the quarter notes was a huge help, but super annoying when it was off time until I got it synched up.
Sounds incredible. I’m not that high tech I just use a Roland go mxr atm.
I used one of those for a time as well. I had people complaining that my videos were "fake" though because they couldn't hear the bass as well. So I went back to my other setup.
When the Ampeg unit comes in, it's also a unit that can directly record in which is partly why I chose it. Cab sims, some gain opportunities and a few other things that I'm excited to sort of get a grittier sound with. I also looked at the Tech 21 Sansamp and then the Geddy Lee Edition. While I'm a huge Rush fan, I didn't want to sound like Geddy all the time while paying a good chunk of money. The SansAmp sounds great as well, but I really am looking for a simple and good dialed in regular fingerstyle, regular picking, gritty and slap tones. I'll dial the 4 and call it a day along with limiting the overhead sound based on the tuning and the amount of strings playing with.

@@neilmorrow9756 Same here! I also bought something called a liquifier that's yet to come in that the rep bought with the Ampeg. It sounds unreal as well). Any month now ;)

A few ;) A few 4 strings, 5 and 6 are also in the mix :D . A few now permanently stay in different tunings as well.
