  • Linux is all amazing and is a must-have knowledge by every programmer. But learning Linux is not an easy task. Linux is so vast that it's easy to get lost in the world. In this video, I will give you some actionable steps to learn Linux. By following these 5 steps, you can learn linux at such a level that as a programmer, most of your problems will be resolved.
If you want to continue to learn Linux even after that, that's great but these are must have Linux basics.
These basic steps apply for Ubuntu, Fedora, Red Hat and almost all flavors of Linux.

Step#2 3:30 - Try (re)Installing multiple flavors of Linux to get a good grasp of it
Step#3 5:02 - Get familiar with different modes of login such as Remote, console, SSH
Step#4 6:00 - Understand Filesystem, Types of users, File permissions, mount, etc...
Step#5 7:40 - Install a server software (for example apache webserver or DHCP) to understand a practical use of Linux

I started learning Linux in class 8 before diving into depths of programming. And sir whatever you said is absolutely true. Each and every programmer should have knowledge of the shell commands and Linux filesystem. It really helps us programmers in future.

Ubuntu installation is pretty simple nowadays. I used to get scared from the installation process so I never installed Linux. But when I brought a new laptop I read a lot of articles on how to install Ubuntu and then finally installed it and I am glad to say that I am a happy Linux user. I also want to mention that using CLI for doing different tasks just makes you a bit more confident as a developer.

Actually, step 0 is really important, I installed Linux 2 months back in my laptop without any backup and I ended up deleting every windows file and my hostel wifi didn't even support access to Linux's web services, as a result, couldn't do any software upgrade and no internet means not an easy life, so had to switch back to windows from hp service center as I had officially deleted Windows 10. Hard Luck, don't miss that step.

@Ravi Sahu Just delete the root partition using gparted( GUI ) or gdisk ( command line ) and create a bootable disk of Kali Linux and install it .
Use "lsblk" command to check which partition is your root partition, be careful while playing with partitions and backup all your data .
