I miss the 80s i want to go back alcohol and Van Halen turned wide open made me feel on top of the world😌
Copious amounts of alcohol and high volume R&R will do that to a person....
We used to Party . from Friday to Monday . survival would Drive around Preashly.Erie Pa. Stoned
You can still drink and play Van Halen lol 🤷♂️🤟🏻😊
Listen to Bottoms up and have a shot every time they sing bottoms up!!! WORKS FOR ME!!!👍
Stand on top of the world for a little while......then hit repeat!!
I remember standing outside the record store in my neighborhood, in line, waiting to buy this on its release day. I was 15 years old. My best friend Frank and I both bought the LP and the cassette. I remember a lot of anticipation for this album. I considered it an instant classic, upon first listen.
I'm 52 now and still enjoy it. My buddy Frank and I used to spend quite a bit of time together, just absorbing good music. Those were the days!
I feel ya Man... I was 13...but my brothers were 18 & 21... So damn right I was going to the show with them....
It's funny though right...if you talk to guys even 5 years younger...they just don't get it...
But we're lucky enough that we DO get it...
Every time I hear Summer Nights... I'm 19 again...👍
@@mikedixon9742 good times, man! Brings back memories every time!

I was lucky enough to see them live in 1986, promoting this album. Loverboy opened up for them. I was a junior in high school. Still think about that concert to this day.

In 1997 I was in the parking lot of guitar centers Hollywood he pulled up in a candy burgundy Porsche. Long story short. Smile and shook my hand. I now have an autograph Frankenstein guitar. And Owen a piece of rock history. Every time I play that guitar. I just can't believe 😪 he's gone

I hear the bass/low end just fine. This is my fave Van Hagar Lp, this one burns start To finish. 🔥 We'll never have another like EVH, R.I.P. 🎸

Grrrreeat album. It was a blast with Sammy. Huge vox
Let's see, 1986, 5150, look what the cat dragged in, Puppets, peace sells.., Slippery When Wet, who made Who, Reign in Blood, what a year!! No matter what kinda rock you liked, glam, hard rock, thrash, or even Something like Genesis with Invisible Touch, music was truly peaking in the mid 80's. God, we who were teenagers, and loved music couldn't have picked a better time to be alive!!! Listened to most of these albums hundreds of times, sitting in my room, with head phones on, playing my Nintendo for hours on end!!!
A much better time
Hello Baby !! This album was GOOD ENOUGH for me to play every day for about a year after it was released. 🤘
Жаль что вся великолепная музыка осталась в прошлом. Но пока мы её слушаем,она жива. EVH R.I.P.

The summer of 86z what a great year ….
This is one of about five albums in the history of rock and roll that I can listen to straight through and enjoy every minute of it!
Царствие небесное Эдди,. Я не фанат его, но есть у них песни, которые захочешь, не забудешь,. Да и вообще мужик был весёлый 😊😊😊😊
one of my favorite albums!
My favourite VH album, it is musically fascinating yet the songs are so great to sing along to. There's so much depth to it - the guitar ideas are just incredible throughout, but the whole band, every band member, excels. Fuck, I miss VH and I miss the good old days...
This the best album they ever did.
This album can't touch VH 1 or 2 or fair warning or women and children first !!!! To say it's their best album is nuts !!!!

Saw their first show with Sammy in Shreveport, March of 86. One of the absolute best concerts I ever had the privilege of witnessing with my own two eyes.
On this tour, it was my second time seeing VH. In '81 in Dallas on Fair Warning only time with D.L.R. on vocals.
Saw Sammy at the '80 TEXXAS JAM first time that summer, then he came to the shithole Wichita Falls,Tx. Both of these shows were in support of the album Danger Zone.
Finally living inD/FW saw Sammy on Standing Hampton, Three Lock Box.
Then again at the Cotton Bowl for Monsters of Rock in '88. But Sammy's voice cracked, they had played the day before at the Astrodome. Last time was on For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge in my hometown of Houston.
I was born in Shreveport, but made & raised in Tejas. Still got kinfolk in South Shreveport down on Linwood below Bert Kouns. Rock on...
святые 80-е :) пик в плане музла однозначно 🎸
Not many rock albums better than this

A great album - love the work.
Bought gas today and the pump kicked off at 51.50 !
That was all the excuse I needed to dial it up and pump up the volume.
Just finished up and wow!
The freakin' energy on display.
My guy Michael Anthony layin' down the pounding bottom end and singin' those high-ass harmonies!! What a crew....

Those 70's guys still rockin hard into the 80s and 90s.
1986, wow what a awsome time in my life. Wish there was music like this today. Awsome.
洋楽を好きになったきっかけとなったアルバムで、自分のヴァン・ヘイレンはここから始まった。
One of my all time favorite albums!
Pretty impressive that Sammy was 39 years old when recording this and sounds that good. I would have guessed he was in his 20's.
Side note: Eddie is pure fire. How many bad ass licks are in the first song "Good enough" alone?
It's like that song by itself could have a full instructional book on guitar tricks & techniques.
He's 100 now and still kicks ass.
@@gurumark10 He'd only be 68 years old if he was still alive. Born in January 1955 in Amsterdam. Math. Facts.
@danieparriott265 that was a joke, you dumbass
He is still as good as he was back then..
Yep I've been listening to Sammy since the early 70s.

I met Eddie in the parking lot at guitar centers Hollywood. I now own a autograph Frankenstein guitar. Thank you Eddie VanHalen. He said I will always be with you just push play ▶️. And check out my new wolf gang guitar it's a cool guitar. 1997.god bless you Eddie VanHalen
Edward van halen was the greatest rock guitarist of all time- I love hendrix and randy Rhodes and if some diversity check out Steve Morse, he's the best I've ever seen but no one rocked like Ed and I am so privileged to have lived through his awesomeness, me and all of my friends revere him as the man, seen him several times, he could even be buzzed and play perfect, no mistakes- we should all aspire to such brilliance- my man every, luv u bro and thanx 4 all the great tunes that will 4ever live in my world!! And Alex, I'm a drummer and u are the man I strive to be- I saw halen at the forum for the fair warning tour and Alex's solo changed my world- they simply were one of the finest rock bands of all time!!
デイブが抜け!サミーヘイガを迎えたアルバムですね!やつと全米アルバムチャート1位になりましたね😊楽曲もキャッチになりましたね!自分は今でも聞きますよ!ラブウオークスイン良いですね!
Rock ON
5150 song is perfect
I found the answer to why his guitar sounded so much different than the previous six albums.
The main thing making that sound is heavy use of the Eventide H949 harmonizer effect, specifically the Micropitch function that detunes the signal by tiny amounts. If I recall correctly on 5150 it was a -7 cent detune mixed with the original dry signal. The amp itself is still the same Marshall from the Roth era. The later For Unlawful Carnal Knowlege and Balance sound is -9 cents on one side, dry down the middle, and +9 cents on the other side, done with the Eventide H3000 and the newer amps (Soldano SLO, Peavey 5150), though a few songs still use the old Marshall, like Aftershock.
Superb record..
I saw Van Halen live in Atlanta in 1986 and they played Sammy Hagar’s “I Can’t Drive 55” and Sammy was in the catwalk over the stage singing! Incredible!
I saw them on their diver down tour and it was amazing. What a show of great music and i saw them once with Sammy hagar but there is no comparison to diamond dave
The very best .

I miss the '80's
The heavy, the vocals, the melody I wish Genesis would have did more like this Legendary band will always represent
What Genesis has to do With Van Hallen. Stop smoking your crap for breakfast
Sammy, push it to another level, AMAZING
I`m probably the only one here with the opinion that the sound and the style of this album can not be compared with the music of the DLR era. It has changed a lot with the keyboards replacing pure metal sound. And despite Sammy being a brilliant singer, it`s not the same as DLR
Love Halen! Love this album! Classic! Skol from Minnesota!
This casette sounded so good in my sister’s boyfriends car. That’s how I was introduced to 51/50…summer nights became the anthem to every summer since…
