I can remember being in Victoria for the Formula One, the Police had mobile Stations dotted around the City, I congratulated one of the Officers and his mates on the achievements of their Band, but sadly the reply was “ we didn’t know we had a pipe band”
Thanks so much for sharing these. It's a real treat to finally watch the crowning achievement of one of my favourite pipe bands, whom I never got to see in the flesh.
@arn050686 Doesnt matter whether he helped them physically or not, his contribution to piping in Australia was phenomenal and all members of the band that have moved on to new things have brought a contribution to the bands they are now with, (Danny Boyle etc) and the ripple affect on the pipe bands of Australia is still being felt, Piping in all countries is getting stronger not weaker as a result of people appreciating something different that touches the heart on a deep level.
A truly fantastic band, great walk down memory lane 👍🏻
Imo the best pipeband ever.

Fantastic and glad I was there and part of it....

One of the greatest pipe bands ever!
I was there, and I remember them playing "If I Had Words" at some point after this march down the street, but I can't find it.
That is the late great Bobby Rea following the band. I took this video and gave a copy to Pipe Major Nat Russell at Cowal two weeks later.
Bobby Rea, Legend and Gentleman!
My first album that I bought was Victoria Police when i was like 13 years old at Angus Highland games...What a band.
What a band. Cannot believe this was 18 years ago.

Was William Murray apart of the band at that time?
